Ezra 3

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 When the seventh month came after the Israelites had been resettled in their towns, the peoplegathered as one person in Jerusalem.	1 Tendo chegado o sétimo mês, e estando os filhos de Israel instalados em suas cidades, todo o povo se reuniu como um só homem em Jerusalém.
2 Then Jeshua son of Jozadak, with his brother priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, with his brothers,set about rebuilding the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it as prescribed in the Law of Mosesman of God.	2 Então Josué, filho de Josedec, e seus irmãos sacerdotes, bem como Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, e seus irmãos principiaram a reconstrução do altar do Deus de Israel e ofereceram holocaustos, como a lei de Moisés, homem de Deus, prescrevia.
3 They erected the altar on its old site, despite their fear of the people of the country, and on it theypresented burnt offerings to Yahweh, burnt offerings morning and evening;	3 Reconstruíram o altar sobre as antigas bases, porque tinham medo dos habitantes vizinhos, e ofereceram holocaustos ao Senhor pela manhã e pela tarde.
4 they celebrated the feast of Shelters as prescribed, offering daily the number of burnt offerings requiredfrom day to day,	4 Em seguida celebraram a festa dos Tabernáculos, como estava prescrito, e, diariamente, ofereciam holocaustos de acordo com o número prescrito para cada dia.
5 and in addition presented the continual burnt offerings prescribed for the Sabbaths, for the New Moonsand for al the festivals sacred to Yahweh, as well as those voluntary offerings made by individuals to Yahweh.	5 Depois disso, ofereceram o holocausto perpétuo, os das neomênias e de todas as solenidades consagradas ao Senhor, assim como os daqueles que faziam uma oferta ao Senhor.
6 From the first day of the seventh month they began presenting burnt offerings to Yahweh, though thefoundations of the Temple of Yahweh had not yet been laid.	6 No primeiro dia do sétimo mês começaram a oferecer holocaustos ao Senhor, mas os fundamentos do templo do Senhor não estavam ainda colocados.
7 They also contributed money for the masons and carpenters, and food, drink and oil for the Sidoniansand Tyrians for bringing cedar wood from Lebanon by sea to Jaffa, for which Cyrus king of Persia had givenpermission.	7 Foram então contratados canteiros e carpinteiros; deram aos sidônios e tírios víveres, azeite e vinho para que trouxessem por mar a madeira dos cedros desde o Líbano até Jope, segundo a autorização que lhes tinha dado Ciro, rei da Pérsia.
8 It was in the second month of the second year after their arrival at the Temple of God in Jerusalem thatZerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak, with the rest of their brothers, the priests, the Levitesand all the people who had returned to Jerusalem from captivity, began the work by appointing some of theLevites who were twenty years old or more to superintend the work on the Temple of Yahweh.	8 No segundo ano de sua chegada ao templo de Deus em Jerusalém, no segundo mês, Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, e Josué, filho de Josedec, tendo consigo seus irmãos, os sacerdotes, os levitas e todos os que haviam voltado do cativeiro para Jerusalém, puseram-se a trabalhar; os levitas de vinte anos para cima foram encarregados da direção dos trabalhos do templo do Senhor;
9 The Levites, Jeshua, his sons and his brothers, with Kadmiel, Binnui and his sons, the sons ofHodaviah, agreed to superintend the men working on the Temple of God.	9 Josué, com seus filhos e irmãos, Cedmiel, com seus filhos, filhos de Judá, propuseram-se unanimemente a dirigir os que trabalhavam na construção da casa de Deus; o mesmo fizeram os filhos de Henadad com seus filhos e seus irmãos que eram levitas.
10 When the builders had laid the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh, the priests in their robes stoodforward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Yahweh according to theordinances of David king of Israel.	10 Logo que os pedreiros lançaram os fundamentos do templo do Senhor, apresentaram-se os sacerdotes ornamentados para assistir à cerimônia, com as trombetas, e os levitas, filhos de Asaf, com os címbalos, para louvarem o Senhor, segundo as ordens de Davi, rei de Israel.
11 They chanted praise and thanksgiving to Yahweh because for Israel, they said, 'he is good, andeverlasting in his faithful love.' Then al the people raised a mighty shout of praise to Yahweh, since thefoundations of the Temple of Yahweh had now been laid.	11 Entoaram ao Senhor este refrão de louvor: Porque ele é bom, e porque sua misericórdia com Israel permanece para sempre! E todo o povo soltou aclamações de alegria para celebrar o Senhor, por ocasião do lançamento dos alicerces de sua casa.
12 Many of the older priests, Levites and heads of families, who had seen the first temple, wept veryloudly when the foundations of this one were laid before their eyes, but many others shouted aloud for joy,	12 Mas, enquanto muitos gritavam de alegria e júbilo, muitos sacerdotes, levitas e chefes de família, já idosos, que tinham visto o primeiro templo, choravam em alta voz, enquanto diante deles eram lançados os alicerces do novo edifício.
13 so that nobody could distinguish the noise of the joyful shout from the noise of the people's weeping;for the people shouted so loudly that the noise could be heard far away.	13 Era impossível distinguir os gritos de alegria dos clamores daqueles que choravam, pois todo o povo gritava em altos brados, e o eco de suas vozes se podia ouvir de longe.
