Ezra 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 When the seventh month came after the Israelites had been resettled in their towns, the peoplegathered as one person in Jerusalem.	1 - Era il settimo mese [dell'anno], ed i figli di Israele erano nelle loro città. Ed il popolo si radunò come un sol uomo in Gerusalemme.
2 Then Jeshua son of Jozadak, with his brother priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, with his brothers,set about rebuilding the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it as prescribed in the Law of Mosesman of God.	2 Josue figlio di Josedec, ed i suoi fratelli sacerdoti, e Zorobabel figlio di Salatiel, ed i suoi fratelli, posero mano a riedificare l'altare del Dio di Israele, per offrirvi sopra gli olocausti, come sta scritto nella legge di Mosè uomo di Dio.
3 They erected the altar on its old site, despite their fear of the people of the country, and on it theypresented burnt offerings to Yahweh, burnt offerings morning and evening;	3 Piantarono dunque l'altare di Dio sulle sue basi, stando però in timore dei popoli delle regioni all'intorno; e su quello offrirono mattina e sera l'olocausto al Signore.
4 they celebrated the feast of Shelters as prescribed, offering daily the number of burnt offerings requiredfrom day to day,	4 Celebrarono la solennità dei Tabernacoli, conforme sta scritto, ed il sacrifizio di ciascun giorno, per ordine, secondo che è prescritto giorno per giorno.
5 and in addition presented the continual burnt offerings prescribed for the Sabbaths, for the New Moonsand for al the festivals sacred to Yahweh, as well as those voluntary offerings made by individuals to Yahweh.	5 Similmente, l'olocausto perenne, tanto al primo d'ogni mese quanto in tutte le solennità consacrate al Signore, ed ogni volta che venivano fatte spontaneamente delle offerte al Signore.
6 From the first day of the seventh month they began presenting burnt offerings to Yahweh, though thefoundations of the Temple of Yahweh had not yet been laid.	6 Col primo giorno del settimo mese cominciarono ad offrire l'olocausto al Signore. Ma il tempio del Signore non era stato ancora fondato.
7 They also contributed money for the masons and carpenters, and food, drink and oil for the Sidoniansand Tyrians for bringing cedar wood from Lebanon by sea to Jaffa, for which Cyrus king of Persia had givenpermission.	7 Allora dettero la paga in moneta agli scalpellini ed ai muratori, e dettero cibo e bevanda ed olio a quei di Sidone e di Tiro, acciò portassero legname di cedro dal Libano al mare di Joppe, secondo che aveva loro comandato Ciro re de' Persiani.
8 It was in the second month of the second year after their arrival at the Temple of God in Jerusalem thatZerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak, with the rest of their brothers, the priests, the Levitesand all the people who had returned to Jerusalem from captivity, began the work by appointing some of theLevites who were twenty years old or more to superintend the work on the Temple of Yahweh.	8 L'anno secondo del loro arrivo al luogo del tempio di Dio in Gerusalemme, il mese secondo, Zorobabel figlio di Salatiel, Josue figlio di Josedec, e gli altri loro fratelli, sacerdoti e leviti, e tutti quelli che dalla cattività eran venuti a Gerusalemme, cominciarono a costituire dei leviti, dai venti anni in su, acciò affrettassero l'opera del Signore.
9 The Levites, Jeshua, his sons and his brothers, with Kadmiel, Binnui and his sons, the sons ofHodaviah, agreed to superintend the men working on the Temple of God.	9 Josue e i suoi figli e fratelli, Cedmiel e i suoi figli, e i figli di Giuda, come un sol uomo, si dettero a sollecitare quelli che lavoravano nel tempio di Dio; [così pure] i figli di Enadad, e i figli loro, e i loro fratelli leviti.
10 When the builders had laid the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh, the priests in their robes stoodforward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Yahweh according to theordinances of David king of Israel.	10 Fatte dai muratori le fondamenta del tempio del Signore, vennero i sacerdoti nelle loro vesti con le trombe, ed i leviti figli di Asaf coi cembali, per lodare Iddio con le parole di Davide re d'Israele.
11 They chanted praise and thanksgiving to Yahweh because for Israel, they said, 'he is good, andeverlasting in his faithful love.' Then al the people raised a mighty shout of praise to Yahweh, since thefoundations of the Temple of Yahweh had now been laid.	11 E cantavano inni e lodi al Signore, perchè egli è buono, perchè la sua misericordia è in eterno sopra Israele. Anche il popolo tutto gridava a gran voce, lodando il Signore che fosse stato fondato il tempio del Signore.
12 Many of the older priests, Levites and heads of families, who had seen the first temple, wept veryloudly when the foundations of this one were laid before their eyes, but many others shouted aloud for joy,	12 Molti poi de' sacerdoti e dei leviti, ed i capi delle famiglie, ed i vecchi che avevano visto l'antico tempio, vedendo ora fondato sotto i loro occhi il nuovo, si lamentavano ad alta voce, molti invece alzavano la voce in grido di gioia.
13 so that nobody could distinguish the noise of the joyful shout from the noise of the people's weeping;for the people shouted so loudly that the noise could be heard far away.	13 Nè si sarebbero potuti facilmente distinguere i gridi di giubilo da quelli di pianto, perchè il popolo confusamente gridava a gran voce, e se ne udiva il rumore fin da lontano.
