Ezra 3

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 When the seventh month came after the Israelites had been resettled in their towns, the peoplegathered as one person in Jerusalem.	1 Cuando llegó el séptimo mes, los israelitas ya estaban en sus respectivas ciudades y todo el pueblo se congregó en Jerusalén como un solo hombre.
2 Then Jeshua son of Jozadak, with his brother priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, with his brothers,set about rebuilding the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it as prescribed in the Law of Mosesman of God.	2 Entonces Josué, hijo de Josadac, con sus hermanos los sacerdotes, y Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, con sus hermanos, reconstruyeron el altar del Dios de Israel, para ofrecer sobre él holocaustos, como está escrito en la Ley de Moisés, el hombre de Dios.
3 They erected the altar on its old site, despite their fear of the people of the country, and on it theypresented burnt offerings to Yahweh, burnt offerings morning and evening;	3 Erigieron el altar en el mismo lugar donde había estado, a pesar del temor que les inspiraban los habitantes del país, y ofrecieron sobre él holocaustos al Señor, los holocaustos de la mañana y de la tarde.
4 they celebrated the feast of Shelters as prescribed, offering daily the number of burnt offerings requiredfrom day to day,	4 También celebraron la fiesta de las Chozas, como está prescrito, ofreciendo diariamente el número de holocaustos fijado para cada día.
5 and in addition presented the continual burnt offerings prescribed for the Sabbaths, for the New Moonsand for al the festivals sacred to Yahweh, as well as those voluntary offerings made by individuals to Yahweh.	5 Después ofrecieron el holocausto perpetuo y los holocaustos de los sábados, de los novilunios y de todas las solemnidades dedicadas al Señor, además de lo que cada uno quería ofrecer voluntariamente al Señor.
6 From the first day of the seventh month they began presenting burnt offerings to Yahweh, though thefoundations of the Temple of Yahweh had not yet been laid.	6 Desde el primer día del séptimo mes, se comenzó a ofrecer holocaustos al Señor, cuando todavía no se habían puesto los cimientos del Templo del Señor.
7 They also contributed money for the masons and carpenters, and food, drink and oil for the Sidoniansand Tyrians for bringing cedar wood from Lebanon by sea to Jaffa, for which Cyrus king of Persia had givenpermission.	7 Entonces se entregó dinero a los que tallaban la piedra y a los carpinteros, y se mandaron víveres, bebidas y aceite a los sidonios y a los tirios para que enviaran por mar a Jope maderas de cedro del Líbano, conforme a la autorización otorgada por Ciro, rey de Persia.
8 It was in the second month of the second year after their arrival at the Temple of God in Jerusalem thatZerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak, with the rest of their brothers, the priests, the Levitesand all the people who had returned to Jerusalem from captivity, began the work by appointing some of theLevites who were twenty years old or more to superintend the work on the Temple of Yahweh.	8 El segundo año de su llegada al Templo de Dios en Jerusalén, en el segundo mes, Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, y Josué, hijo de Josadac, con el resto de sus hermanos, los sacerdotes, los levitas y todos los que habían vuelto del exilio a Jerusalén, comenzaron la obra y designaron a algunos levitas mayores de veinte años para que dirigieran los trabajos de la Casa del Señor.
9 The Levites, Jeshua, his sons and his brothers, with Kadmiel, Binnui and his sons, the sons ofHodaviah, agreed to superintend the men working on the Temple of God.	9 Josué, sus hijos y sus hermanos, Cadmiel y sus hijos, y los hijos de Hodavías, se pusieron a dirigir todos juntos a los que trabajaban en la construcción de la Casa de Dios, y lo mismo hicieron los hijos de Jenadad, con sus hijos y sus hermanos los levitas.
10 When the builders had laid the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh, the priests in their robes stoodforward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise Yahweh according to theordinances of David king of Israel.	10 Una vez que los constructores pusieron los cimientos del Templo del Señor, se presentaron los sacerdotes, revestidos y con trompetas, y también los levitas, hijos de Asaf, con sus címbalos, para alabar al Señor, según lo establecido por David, rey de Israel.
11 They chanted praise and thanksgiving to Yahweh because for Israel, they said, 'he is good, andeverlasting in his faithful love.' Then al the people raised a mighty shout of praise to Yahweh, since thefoundations of the Temple of Yahweh had now been laid.	11 Ellos cantaban al Señor, alabándolo y dándole gracias: «Porque él es bueno, porque es eterno su amor hacia Israel». Y todo el pueblo prorrumpía en grandes aclamaciones, alabando al Señor, porque se ponían los cimientos de la Casa del Señor.
12 Many of the older priests, Levites and heads of families, who had seen the first temple, wept veryloudly when the foundations of this one were laid before their eyes, but many others shouted aloud for joy,	12 Muchos sacerdotes, levitas y jefes de familia, ya ancianos, que habían visto el primer Templo, prorrumpieron en llanto, mientras veían poner los cimientos del nuevo; pero muchos otros proferían aclamaciones de júbilo.
13 so that nobody could distinguish the noise of the joyful shout from the noise of the people's weeping;for the people shouted so loudly that the noise could be heard far away.	13 No se podía distinguir entre las aclamaciones de júbilo y el llanto de la gente, porque las aclamaciones del pueblo eran tan grandes que se oían desde lejos.
