2 Chronicles 5

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Thus all the work done by Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomon brought inthe gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and all the utensils put into thetreasuries of the Temple of God.	1 Terminou-se, dessa maneira, tudo o que Salomão tinha mandado realizar para o templo do Senhor. Para aí, então, mandou transportar tudo o que Davi, seu pai, tinha consagrado, a prata, o ouro e todos os utensílios, e pôs tudo nos tesouros da casa de Deus.
2 Solomon then assembled the elders of Israel to Jerusalem, al the tribal chiefs, the princes of thefamilies of Israel, to bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh up from the City of David, that is, Zion.	2 Então, congregou em Jerusalém os anciãos de Israel, os chefes das tribos e os chefes das famílias israelitas para transportarem de Sião, isto é, da cidade de Davi, a arca da aliança do Senhor.
3 Al the men of Israel assembled round the king at the time of the feast, that is, in the seventh month.	3 Todos os israelitas reuniram-se junto do rei para a festa: era o sétimo mês.
4 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark;	4 Chegados que foram todos os anciãos de Israel, levantaram os levitas a arca,
5 they brought up the ark and the Tent of Meeting and al the sacred utensils which were in the Tent; thelevitical priests brought them up.	5 e transportaram-na com a tenda de reunião e todo o seu mobiliário de utensílios sagrados. Foram os sacerdotes levíticos que fizeram essa transladação.
6 King Solomon and the whole assembly of Israel present with him before the ark sacrificed countless,innumerable sheep and oxen.	6 O rei Salomão e toda a multidão de israelitas, reunida com ele diante da arca, imolaram tal quantidade de ovelhas e de bois que não se pôde avaliar o seu número.
7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, in the Debir of the Temple, that is, inthe Holy of Holies, under the wings of the winged creatures;	7 Os sacerdotes levaram a arca da aliança do Senhor a seu lugar, no santuário do templo, o Santo dos Santos, sob as asas dos querubins.
8 for they spread their wings over the place where the ark stood, forming a canopy over the ark and itsshafts.	8 Os querubins estendiam as asas sobre o lugar da arca e cobriam-na, assim como os seus varais.
9 The shafts were so long, however, that the ends of the shafts of the ark could be seen in front of theHoly Place in front of the Debir, though they could not be seen from outside. They are still there today.	9 Estes eram tão compridos que se podia ver suas extremidades diante do santuário; mas não se podiam divisá-los de fora. A arca permaneceu lá até o momento presente.
10 There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses had placed in it at Horeb, whenYahweh made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.	10 Nela não havia outra coisa senão duas tábuas que Moisés ali tinha colocado, no monte Horeb, quando o Senhor concluiu a aliança com os israelitas que acabavam de sair do Egito.
11 Now when the priests came out of the Holy Place -- for al the priests present had sanctifiedthemselves regardless of the orders to which they belonged,	11 Quando os sacerdotes saíram do santuário - porque os sacerdotes presentes tinham tomado parte na cerimônia sem observar a ordem de classes;
12 and al the levitical singers, Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun with their sons and brothers, dressed inlinen, were standing to the east of the altar with cymbals, lyres and harps and with them one hundred and twentypriests blowing the trumpets,	12 todos os levitas cantores, Asaf, Hemã, Iditum, seus filhos e irmãos, vestidos de linho fino, colocados a leste do altar, tocavam címbalos, cítaras e harpas, acompanhados de cento e vinte sacerdotes que tocavam trombetas -
13 and the harmony between trumpeters and singers was such that only one melody could be heard asthey praised and gave thanks to Yahweh -- and the singing began, to the accompaniment of trumpets, cymbalsand musical instruments, and they praised Yahweh 'for he is good, for his faithful love is everlasting' -- then theTemple was fil ed with the cloud of the glory of Yahweh,	13 no momento em que os tocadores de trombeta, e os cantores se uniam para celebrar numa mesma sinfonia o louvor do Senhor, no momento em que faziam ressoar o som das trombetas, dos címbalos e de outros instrumentos de música com este hino: Louvor ao Senhor porque ele é bom, porque sua misericórdia é eterna, nesse momento o templo, o templo do Senhor, encheu-se de uma nuvem tão espessa
14 and because of the cloud the priests could not stay and perform their duties. For the glory of Yahwehfilled the Temple of God.	14 que os sacerdotes não puderam permanecer ali para exercer sua função. A glória do Senhor enchia a casa de Deus.
