1 These are the men who rallied to David at Ziklag while he was stil being kept away from Saul son ofKish; they were among the champions, the warriors.	1 Questi vennero a David in Siceleg, mentre egli seguitava a fuggire Saul figlio di Cis. Erano uomini fortissimi, illustri guerrieri,
2 They were equipped with bows and could sling stones or shoot arrows from the bow with either righthand or left. Of Saul's fellow-tribesmen from Benjamin:	2 tiratori d'arco, abili a scagliar sassi colla fionda con ambedue le mani e a tirar dritte le saette, eran congiunti di Saul, della tribù di Beniamino.

15 These Gadites were the leaders of the troops, the least of them a match for a hundred men and thegreatest a match for a thousand.	15 Furono essi che passarono il Giordano al primo mese, quando straripa, e posero in fuga tutti quelli che stavano nelle valli a oriente e a occidente.
16 These were the men who once crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed itsbanks and had driven out al the lowlanders to east and west.	16 Vennero anche quelli di Beniamino e di Giuda alla fortezza dove stava David.

18 When David came forward to meet them, he responded to them by saying, 'If you have come to mewith peaceful intent to help me, you will find me a good friend. But if it is to betray me to my enemies, seeing thatI have done nothing wrong, may the God of our ancestors take note and condemn you.'	18 Allora lo spirito investi Amasai, il capo dei trenta, che disse: « Noi siam tuoi, o David, siamo con te, o figlio d'Isai, pace, pace a te, e pace a quel­li che t'aiutano, perchè il tuo Dio ti soccorre ». David allora li accolse e li costituì capi della truppa.
19 Then the Spirit invested Amasai the leader of the Thirty: 'We are your men, David; with you, son ofJesse! Peace be with you, peace be with you; peace be with those who help you! For your God has helped you!'And David accepted them, including them among his more senior officers.	19 Anche di quei di Manasse passarono a David, mentre egli andava coi Filistei per combattere contro Saul; ma egli non combattè con loro, perchè i prin­cipi dei Filistei, tenuto consiglio, lo rimandarono, dicendo: « A rischio della nostra testa egli ritornerà a Saul suo signore ».
20 Some Manassehites also defected to David as he was setting out with the Philistines to fight Saul.But he did not help the Philistines because, after consultation, their chiefs sent him away, saying, 'He wil defectto his master Saul and it wil cost us our heads!'	20 Or quando egli ritornò in Siceleg, si rifugiarono presso di lui, di quelli di Manasse, Ednas, Iozabad, Iedihel, Michele, Ednas, Iozabad, Eliu, Salati, capi di mille uomini in Manasse.
21 He was on his way to Ziklag when these Manassehites deserted to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael,Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, Zil ethai, chiefs of thousands in Manasseh.	21 Questi diedero aiuto a David contro i predoni, ed essendo uomini fortissimi furon fatti principi dell'esercito.
22 They helped David and his band, since they were al men of standing and became officers in thearmy.	22 Ogni giorno veniva gente a David per soccorrerlo, fino a formare un gran numero come l'esercito di Dio.
23 Indeed reinforcements reached David day after day, so that his camp grew into a camp of prodigioussize.	23 Ecco il numero dei principi D'esercito, che vennero a David mentre era in Ebron per trasferire a lui il regno di Saul, secondo la parola del Signore.
24 These are the numbers of ful y armed men who joined David at Hebron to transfer Saul's kingdom tohim in accordance with the order of Yahweh:	24 Dei figli di Giuda, armati di scudo e di lancia, sei mila ottocento pronti per la guerra.

34 Zebulunites: fifty thousand men fit for service, marshalled for battle, with warlike weapons of everykind, staunch-hearted auxiliaries;	34 Di Nettali, mille principi con trentasette mila uomini armati di scudo e di lancia.
35 Naphtalites: a thousand commanders, and with them thirty-seven thousand men armed with shieldand spear;	35 Così di Dan, ventotto mila seicento preparati per la battaglia.
36 Danites: twenty-eight thousand six hundred men marshal ed for battle;	36 Di Aser quaranta mila che uscivano alla guerra e provocavano a battaglia.

39 Al these warriors in battle array came to David at Hebron with the firm determination of makingDavid king of al Israel; and the rest of Israel, too, was of one mind in wanting to make David king.	39 Vi si trattennero presso David tre giorni, mangiando e bevendo, chè i loro fratelli avevan preparato tutto,
40 For three days they stayed there with David, eating and drinking, their fellow-tribesmen having madepreparations for them;	40 e di più quelli che eran vicini, fino ad Issacar, a Zàbulon, a Nettali, portavano sopra asini, cammelli, muli, buoi, del pane da mangiare e farina e fichi secchi, uva passa, vino, olio, buoi, arieti in grande abbondanza, perchè l'allegrezza era in Israele.
41 their neighbours too, from as far away as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, came bringing food ondonkeys, camels, mules and oxen-supplies of flour, fig cakes, bunches of raisins, wine, oil, quantities of oxenand sheep -- for there was joy in Israel.
