1 As regards his palace, Solomon spent thirteen years on it before the building was completed.	1 Salomone fabbricò pure la sua casa e la compì interamente in tredici anni.
2 He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubitshigh, on four rows of cedar-wood pil ars,	2 Costruì anche la casa del bosco del Libano, che aveva cento cubiti di lunghezza, cinquanta cubiti di larghezza e trenta d'altezza e quattro gallerie tra colonnati di cedro; aveva tagliato il legno di cedro, in forma di colonne.
3 with lengths of cedar wood laid horizontal y on the pil ars. The upper part was panel ed with cedar rightdown to the tie-beams on forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row.	3 Rivestì di tavole di cedro tutto il soffitto, sostenuto da quarantacinque colonne, poste in ordini dì quindici colonne,
4 There were three rows of window-frames, with the windows corresponding to one another at threelevels.	4 l'una di faccia all'altra,
5 Al the doorways and windows were rectangular, with the windows corresponding to one another atthree levels.	5 in modo da guardarsi a vicenda, ad ugual distanza, e sopra le colonne v'eran delle travi quadrangolari del tutto uguali.
6 He also made the Colonnade, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits broad, with a cornice in front.	6 Fece il portico delle colonne di cinquanta cubiti di lunghezza, di trenta cubiti di larghezza, e un altro portico in faccia a quello più grande, con colonne e architravi sopra le colonne.
7 He also made the Hal of the Throne where he used to dispense justice, that is, the Hal of Justice; it waspanel ed in cedar from floor to beams.	7 Fece pure il portico del trono, nel quale v'è il tribunale, e lo vestì di legno di cedro dal pavimento fino alla sommità.
8 His own living quarters, in the other court and inwards from the Hal , were of the same construction. Andthere was a house similar to this Hal for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage.	8 Nel mezzo del portico v'era una piccola casa di simile lavoro, ove si sedeva per giudicare. Salomone fece una casa simile a questo portico anche per la figlia di Faraone ch'egli aveva sposata.
9 Al these buildings were of special stones cut to measure, trimmed on the inner and outer sides with thesaw, from the foundations to the coping-	9 Tutto ciò, dalle fondamenta sino alla sommità dei muri, e al di fuori dell'atrio maggiore, era di pietre scelte che, tanto dalla parte interna come dalla esterna, erano state segate secondo certe norme e misure.
10 the foundations were of special stones, huge stones, of ten and eight cubits,	10 I fondamenti eran di pietre scelte, di pietre grandi or dieci or otto cubiti.
11 and, above these, special stones, cut to measure, and cedar wood-	11 Sopra vi erano delle pietre scelte, tagliate a ugual misura, e del cedro.
12 and, on the outside, the great court had three courses of dressed stone round it and one course ofcedar beams; so also had the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh and the vestibule of the Temple.	12 L'atrio maggiore era rotondo, ed aveva tre ordini di pietre tagliate e un ordine di cedro lavorato, come l'atrio interiore della casa del Signore e il portico della casa.
13 King Solomon sent for Hiram of Tyre;	13 Il re Salomone mandò a Tiro a prendere un certo Hiram,
14 he was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, but his father had been a Tyrian, a bronzeworker.He was a highly intel igent craftsman, skil ed in al types of bronzework. He came to King Solomon and did althis work for him.	14 figlio di una vedova della tribù di Nettali, ma di padre tirio, lavoratore di rame, pieno di sapienza e d'intelligenza, capace in qualsiasi lavoro di rame. Egli venne da Salomone ed esegui i suoi lavori.
15 He cast the two bronze pillars; the height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and a cord twelve cubitslong gave the measurement of its girth; so also was the second pil ar.	15 E fece due colonne di bronzo; ogni colonna era alta diciotto cubiti, e un filo di dodici cubiti avrebbe misurata la grossezza dell'una e dell'altra colonna.
16 He made two capitals of cast bronze for the tops of the pil ars; the height of one capital was five cubits,and the height of the other five cubits.	16 Fece pure due capitelli di bronzo di getto, da porsi sopra le colonne: tutti e due i capitelli avevano cinque cubiti d'altezza,
17 He made two sets of filigree to cover the moulding of the two capitals surmounting the pil ars, onefiligree for one capital and one filigree for the other.	17 e vi era come una specie di rete e di catene intrecciate fra loro con mirabile arte. L'uno e l'altro capitello delle colonne era di getto, e vi erano sette file di maglie in un capitello e sette file di maglie nell'altro capitello.
18 He also made pomegranates: two rows of them round each filigree,four hundred in al ,	18 Compì le colonne con due ordini di melagrane attorno al reticolato, da coprirne il capitello che sormontava una colonna. Lo stesso fece al capitello dell'altra.
19 The capitals surrounding the pil ars were lily-shaped.	19 I capitelli che sormontavano le colonne del portico eran fatti a gigli, ed eran di quattro cubiti.
20 applied on the raised moulding behind the filigree; there were two hundred pomegranates round onecapital and the same round the other capital.	20 V'erano inoltre in cima alle colonne, sopra i reticolati, altri capitelli proporzionati alla colonna, e intorno a questo secondo capitello, disposte in ordine, duecento melagrane.
21 He erected the pil ars in front of the portico of the Temple, he erected the right-hand pil ar and named itJachin; he erected the left-hand pil ar and named it Boaz.	21 Pose le due colonne nel portico del tempio; eretta la colonna destra, le diede il nome di Iachin; eretta poi la seconda, le pose il nome di Booz.
22 Thus, the work on the pillars was completed.	22 Sulle cime delle colonne pose quel lavoro fatto a giglio. E così fu compito il lavoro delle colonne.
23 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.	23 Fece pure il mare di bronzo fuso, che aveva dieci cubiti da un orlo all'altro, era interamente rotondo, alto cinque cubiti, e una corda di trenta cubiti l'avrebbe cinto tutto all'intorno.
24 Under its rim and completely encircling it were gourds surrounding the Sea; over a length of thirtycubits the gourds were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.	24 Sotto l'orlo gli girava torno tomo, per dieci cubiti, un lavoro scolpito che fasciava il mare: i due ordini di sculture a rilievo eran di getto.
25 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.	25 (Il mare) posava sopra dodici buoi, dei quali tre guardavano a settentrione, tre ad occidente, tre a mezzodì, tre ad oriente: stando il mare sopra di essi, le loro parti di dietro restavano nascoste nella parte interna.
26 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, lily-shaped. It couldhold two thousand measures.	26 Lo spessore del bacino era di tre once, il suo orlo era come l'orlo d'una coppa e come foglia di giglio sbocciato: conteneva due mila bati.
27 He made the ten bronze stands; each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three high.	27 Fece dieci basi di bronzo, ognuna di quattro cubiti di lunghezza, di quattro cubiti di larghezza e di tre cubiti di altezza.
28 They were designed as fol ows; they had an undercarriage and crosspieces to the undercarriage.	28 Il lavoro delle basi era a cesello, e vi erano delle sculture fra le giunture. '
29 On the crosspieces of the undercarriage were lions and bul s and winged creatures, and on top of theundercarriage was a support; under the lions and oxen there were scrolls in the style of. . .	29 Fra le piccole corone e gli orli vi erano leoni, buoi e cherubini, e così sopra le giunture, sotto ai leoni e ai buoi, v'eran pendenti dei festoni di bronzo.
30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles; its four feet had shoulderings under the basin,and the shoulderings were cast. . .	30 Ogni base aveva quattro rote di bronzo e sale di bronzo, e ai quattro angoli sotto al bacino, vi erano come delle spallette fatte di getto e rivolte l'una verso l'altra,
31 Its mouth measured one and a half cubits from where the shoulderings met to the top; its mouth wasround like a stand for a vessel, and on the mouth there were engravings too; the crosspieces, however, wererectangular and not round.	31 In cima alla base vi era poi, internamente, una cavità per ricevere il bacino; quello che appariva fuori era di un cubito, e tutto rotondo, tutto era un cubito e mezzo. Agli angoli delle colonne v'eran varie cesellature e gl'intercolunnii eran quadrati e non rotondi.
32 The four wheels were under the crosspieces. The axles of the wheels were inside the stands; theheight of the wheels was one and a half cubits.	32 Le quattro rote che erano ai quattro angoli della base, si univano l'una all'altra sotto la base ed ogni rota aveva un cubito e mezzo d'altezza.
33 The wheels were designed like chariot wheels: their axles, felloes, spokes and naves had al been cast.	33 Le rote eran come quelle che soglion farsi per i carri, e le loro sale, i loro raggi, i loro cerchi e i loro mozzi eran tutti di getto.
34 There were four shoulderings at the four corners of each stand: the stand and the shoulderings were alof a piece.	34 Anche quelle quattro spallette che erano ai quattro angoli di ciascuna base eran congiunte e fuse colla base.
35 At the top of the stand there was a support, circular in shape and half a cubit high; and on top of thestand there were lugs. The crosspieces were of a piece with the stand.	35 sin cima alla base v'era un cerchio, alto mezzo cubito, e fatto in modo da potervi mettere sopra il bacino e con cesellature e sculture varie a rilievo.
36 On the bands he engraved winged creatures and lions and palm leaves. . . and scrol s right round.	36 e sulle superfìci, che eran di bronzo, e sugli angoli scolpì cherubini, leoni e palme, simili ad uomini ritti, e parevano non cesellati, ma aggiunti all'intorno.
37 He made the ten stands like this: the same casting and the same measurements for all.	37 Così egli fece le dieci basi di un medesimo getto, di una medesima misura e di consimile scultura.
38 He made ten bronze basins; each basin held forty measures and each basin measured four cubits, onebasin to each of the ten stands.	38 Fece anche dieci bacini di rame. Cigni bacino conteneva quaranta bati, ed era di quattro cubiti. Posò ciascun bacino sopra una delle dieci basi,
39 He arranged the stands, five on the right-hand side of the Temple, five on the left-hand side of theTemple; the Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south east.	39 e le dieci basi le collocò cinque al lato destro, e cinque al lato sinistro del tempio: il mare lo pose al lato destro del tempio, a levante, verso mezzodì.
40 Hiram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. He finished all the work that hedid for King Solomon on the Temple of Yahweh:	40 Hiram fece pure delle conche, delle caldaie e dei bacini, ed eseguì tutti i lavori del re Salomone nel tempio del Signore:
41 Two pil ars; the two mouldings of the capitals surrounding the pil ars; the two sets of filigree to coverthe two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars;	41 le due colonne, i due cordoni dei capitelli sopra i capitelli delle colonne, i due reticolati per coprire i due cordoni che eran sopra le colonne;
42 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree;	42 le quattrocento melegrane nelle due reti, due ordini di melegrane in ciascun reticolato, per coprire i cordoni dei capitelli che eran sulle cime delle colonne;

45 the ash containers, the scoops, and sprinkling bowls. All these objects made by Hiram for KingSolomon for the Temple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.	45 le conche, le caldaie, i bacini. Tutti i vasi che Hiram fece al re Salomone per la casa del Signore eran di bronzo finissimo,
46 He made them by the process of sand casting, in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth andZarethan.	46 e il re li fece fonder nella pianura del Giordano, nel terreno argilloso tra Socot e Sartan.
47 There were so many of them, that the weight of the bronze was never calculated.	47 Salomone ripose tutti questi vasi; ma, essendo in tanta quantità, non se ne pesò il bronzo.
48 Solomon made all the objects designed for the Temple of Yahweh: the golden altar and the gold tablefor the loaves of permanent offering;	48 Salomone fece pure tutti gli arredi per la casa del Signore: l'altare d'oro, la tavola d'oro, sulla quale dovevano esser posti i pani di proposizione;
49 the lamp-stands, five on the right and five on the left in front of the Debir, of pure gold; the floral work,the lamps, the tongs, of gold;	49 i candelabri d'oro, cinque a destra e cinque a sinistra davanti all'oracolo d'oro fino, come pure i fiori di giglio e le lucerne d'oro al di sopra; gli smoccolatoi d'oro,
50 the basins, the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, the incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; the doorpanels -- for the inner shrine -- that is, the Holy of Holies -- and for the Hekal, of gold.	50 le idrie, le forchette, le coppe, i mortai, e i turiboli d'oro finissimo. Eran pure d'oro i cardini delle porte della casa inteteriore del Santo dei Santi e delle porte della casa del tempio.
51 Thus al the work done by King Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomonbrought in the gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and the utensils putinto the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh.	51 Salomone compì tutti i lavori che intendeva di fare per la casa del Signore, e vi mise tutto quello che David suo padre aveva consacrato, e l'argento, l'oro e i vasi li ripose nei tesori della casa del Signore.
