1 As regards his palace, Solomon spent thirteen years on it before the building was completed.	1 ואת ביתו בנה שלמה שלש עשרה שנה ויכל את כל ביתו
2 He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubitshigh, on four rows of cedar-wood pil ars,	2 ויבן את בית יער הלבנון מאה אמה ארכו וחמשים אמה רחבו ושלשים אמה קומתו על ארבעה טורי עמודי ארזים וכרתות ארזים על העמודים
3 with lengths of cedar wood laid horizontal y on the pil ars. The upper part was panel ed with cedar rightdown to the tie-beams on forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row.	3 וספן בארז ממעל על הצלעת אשר על העמודים ארבעים וחמשה חמשה עשר הטור
4 There were three rows of window-frames, with the windows corresponding to one another at threelevels.	4 ושקפים שלשה טורים ומחזה אל מחזה שלש פעמים
5 Al the doorways and windows were rectangular, with the windows corresponding to one another atthree levels.	5 וכל הפתחים והמזוזות רבעים שקף ומול מחזה אל מחזה שלש פעמים
6 He also made the Colonnade, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits broad, with a cornice in front.	6 ואת אולם העמודים עשה חמשים אמה ארכו ושלשים אמה רחבו ואולם על פניהם ועמדים ועב על פניהם
7 He also made the Hal of the Throne where he used to dispense justice, that is, the Hal of Justice; it waspanel ed in cedar from floor to beams.	7 ואולם הכסא אשר ישפט שם אלם המשפט עשה וספון בארז מהקרקע עד הקרקע
8 His own living quarters, in the other court and inwards from the Hal , were of the same construction. Andthere was a house similar to this Hal for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage.	8 וביתו אשר ישב שם חצר האחרת מבית לאולם כמעשה הזה היה ובית יעשה לבת פרעה אשר לקח שלמה כאולם הזה
9 Al these buildings were of special stones cut to measure, trimmed on the inner and outer sides with thesaw, from the foundations to the coping-	9 כל אלה אבנים יקרת כמדת גזית מגררות במגרה מבית ומחוץ וממסד עד הטפחות ומחוץ עד החצר הגדולה
10 the foundations were of special stones, huge stones, of ten and eight cubits,	10 ומיסד אבנים יקרות אבנים גדלות אבני עשר אמות ואבני שמנה אמות
11 and, above these, special stones, cut to measure, and cedar wood-	11 ומלמעלה אבנים יקרות כמדות גזית וארז
12 and, on the outside, the great court had three courses of dressed stone round it and one course ofcedar beams; so also had the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh and the vestibule of the Temple.	12 וחצר הגדולה סביב שלשה טורים גזית וטור כרתת ארזים ולחצר בית יהוה הפנימית ולאלם הבית
13 King Solomon sent for Hiram of Tyre;	13 וישלח המלך שלמה ויקח את חירם מצר
14 he was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, but his father had been a Tyrian, a bronzeworker.He was a highly intel igent craftsman, skil ed in al types of bronzework. He came to King Solomon and did althis work for him.	14 בן אשה אלמנה הוא ממטה נפתלי ואביו איש צרי חרש נחשת וימלא את החכמה ואת התבונה ואת הדעת לעשות כל מלאכה בנחשת ויבוא אל המלך שלמה ויעש את כל מלאכתו
15 He cast the two bronze pillars; the height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and a cord twelve cubitslong gave the measurement of its girth; so also was the second pil ar.	15 ויצר את שני העמודים נחשת שמנה עשרה אמה קומת העמוד האחד וחוט שתים עשרה אמה יסב את העמוד השני
16 He made two capitals of cast bronze for the tops of the pil ars; the height of one capital was five cubits,and the height of the other five cubits.	16 ושתי כתרת עשה לתת על ראשי העמודים מצק נחשת חמש אמות קומת הכתרת האחת וחמש אמות קומת הכתרת השנית
17 He made two sets of filigree to cover the moulding of the two capitals surmounting the pil ars, onefiligree for one capital and one filigree for the other.	17 שבכים מעשה שבכה גדלים מעשה שרשרות לכתרת אשר על ראש העמודים שבעה לכתרת האחת ושבעה לכתרת השנית
18 He also made pomegranates: two rows of them round each filigree,four hundred in al ,	18 ויעש את העמודים ושני טורים סביב על השבכה האחת לכסות את הכתרת אשר על ראש הרמנים וכן עשה לכתרת השנית
19 The capitals surrounding the pil ars were lily-shaped.	19 וכתרת אשר על ראש העמודים מעשה שושן באולם ארבע אמות
20 applied on the raised moulding behind the filigree; there were two hundred pomegranates round onecapital and the same round the other capital.	20 וכתרת על שני העמודים גם ממעל מלעמת הבטן אשר לעבר שבכה והרמונים מאתים טרים סביב על הכתרת השנית
21 He erected the pil ars in front of the portico of the Temple, he erected the right-hand pil ar and named itJachin; he erected the left-hand pil ar and named it Boaz.	21 ויקם את העמדים לאלם ההיכל ויקם את העמוד הימני ויקרא את שמו יכין ויקם את העמוד השמאלי ויקרא את שמו בעז
22 Thus, the work on the pillars was completed.	22 ועל ראש העמודים מעשה שושן ותתם מלאכת העמודים
23 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.	23 ויעש את הים מוצק עשר באמה משפתו עד שפתו עגל סביב וחמש באמה קומתו וקוה שלשים באמה יסב אתו סביב
24 Under its rim and completely encircling it were gourds surrounding the Sea; over a length of thirtycubits the gourds were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.	24 ופקעים מתחת לשפתו סביב סבבים אתו עשר באמה מקפים את הים סביב שני טורים הפקעים יצקים ביצקתו
25 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.	25 עמד על שני עשר בקר שלשה פנים צפונה ושלשה פנים ימה ושלשה פנים נגבה ושלשה פנים מזרחה והים עליהם מלמעלה וכל אחריהם ביתה
26 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, lily-shaped. It couldhold two thousand measures.	26 ועביו טפח ושפתו כמעשה שפת כוס פרח שושן אלפים בת יכיל
27 He made the ten bronze stands; each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three high.	27 ויעש את המכנות עשר נחשת ארבע באמה ארך המכונה האחת וארבע באמה רחבה ושלש באמה קומתה
28 They were designed as fol ows; they had an undercarriage and crosspieces to the undercarriage.	28 וזה מעשה המכונה מסגרת להם ומסגרת בין השלבים
29 On the crosspieces of the undercarriage were lions and bul s and winged creatures, and on top of theundercarriage was a support; under the lions and oxen there were scrolls in the style of. . .	29 ועל המסגרות אשר בין השלבים אריות בקר וכרובים ועל השלבים כן ממעל ומתחת לאריות ולבקר ליות מעשה מורד
30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles; its four feet had shoulderings under the basin,and the shoulderings were cast. . .	30 וארבעה אופני נחשת למכונה האחת וסרני נחשת וארבעה פעמתיו כתפת להם מתחת לכיר הכתפת יצקות מעבר איש ליות
31 Its mouth measured one and a half cubits from where the shoulderings met to the top; its mouth wasround like a stand for a vessel, and on the mouth there were engravings too; the crosspieces, however, wererectangular and not round.	31 ופיהו מבית לכתרת ומעלה באמה ופיה עגל מעשה כן אמה וחצי האמה וגם על פיה מקלעות ומסגרתיהם מרבעות לא עגלות
32 The four wheels were under the crosspieces. The axles of the wheels were inside the stands; theheight of the wheels was one and a half cubits.	32 וארבעת האופנים למתחת למסגרות וידות האופנים במכונה וקומת האופן האחד אמה וחצי האמה
33 The wheels were designed like chariot wheels: their axles, felloes, spokes and naves had al been cast.	33 ומעשה האופנים כמעשה אופן המרכבה ידותם וגביהם וחשקיהם וחשריהם הכל מוצק
34 There were four shoulderings at the four corners of each stand: the stand and the shoulderings were alof a piece.	34 וארבע כתפות אל ארבע פנות המכנה האחת מן המכנה כתפיה
35 At the top of the stand there was a support, circular in shape and half a cubit high; and on top of thestand there were lugs. The crosspieces were of a piece with the stand.	35 ובראש המכונה חצי האמה קומה עגל סביב ועל ראש המכנה ידתיה ומסגרתיה ממנה
36 On the bands he engraved winged creatures and lions and palm leaves. . . and scrol s right round.	36 ויפתח על הלחת ידתיה ועל ומסגרתיה כרובים אריות ותמרת כמער איש וליות סביב
37 He made the ten stands like this: the same casting and the same measurements for all.	37 כזאת עשה את עשר המכנות מוצק אחד מדה אחת קצב אחד לכלהנה
38 He made ten bronze basins; each basin held forty measures and each basin measured four cubits, onebasin to each of the ten stands.	38 ויעש עשרה כירות נחשת ארבעים בת יכיל הכיור האחד ארבע באמה הכיור האחד כיור אחד על המכנה האחת לעשר המכונות
39 He arranged the stands, five on the right-hand side of the Temple, five on the left-hand side of theTemple; the Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south east.	39 ויתן את המכנות חמש על כתף הבית מימין וחמש על כתף הבית משמאלו ואת הים נתן מכתף הבית הימנית קדמה ממול נגב
40 Hiram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. He finished all the work that hedid for King Solomon on the Temple of Yahweh:	40 ויעש חירום את הכירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ויכל חירם לעשות את כל המלאכה אשר עשה למלך שלמה בית יהוה
41 Two pil ars; the two mouldings of the capitals surrounding the pil ars; the two sets of filigree to coverthe two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars;	41 עמדים שנים וגלת הכתרת אשר על ראש העמדים שתים והשבכות שתים לכסות את שתי גלת הכתרת אשר על ראש העמודים
42 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree;	42 ואת הרמנים ארבע מאות לשתי השבכות שני טורים רמנים לשבכה האחת לכסות את שתי גלת הכתרת אשר על פני העמודים
43 the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands;	43 ואת המכנות עשר ואת הכירת עשרה על המכנות
44 the one Sea and the twelve oxen beneath the Sea;	44 ואת הים האחד ואת הבקר שנים עשר תחת הים
45 the ash containers, the scoops, and sprinkling bowls. All these objects made by Hiram for KingSolomon for the Temple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.	45 ואת הסירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ואת כל הכלים האהל אשר עשה חירם למלך שלמה בית יהוה נחשת ממרט
46 He made them by the process of sand casting, in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth andZarethan.	46 בככר הירדן יצקם המלך במעבה האדמה בין סכות ובין צרתן
47 There were so many of them, that the weight of the bronze was never calculated.	47 וינח שלמה את כל הכלים מרב מאד מאד לא נחקר משקל הנחשת
48 Solomon made all the objects designed for the Temple of Yahweh: the golden altar and the gold tablefor the loaves of permanent offering;	48 ויעש שלמה את כל הכלים אשר בית יהוה את מזבח הזהב ואת השלחן אשר עליו לחם הפנים זהב
49 the lamp-stands, five on the right and five on the left in front of the Debir, of pure gold; the floral work,the lamps, the tongs, of gold;	49 ואת המנרות חמש מימין וחמש משמאול לפני הדביר זהב סגור והפרח והנרת והמלקחים זהב
50 the basins, the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, the incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; the doorpanels -- for the inner shrine -- that is, the Holy of Holies -- and for the Hekal, of gold.	50 והספות והמזמרות והמזרקות והכפות והמחתות זהב סגור והפתות לדלתות הבית הפנימי לקדש הקדשים לדלתי הבית להיכל זהב
51 Thus al the work done by King Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomonbrought in the gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and the utensils putinto the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh.	51 ותשלם כל המלאכה אשר עשה המלך שלמה בית יהוה ויבא שלמה את קדשי דוד אביו את הכסף ואת הזהב ואת הכלים נתן באצרות בית יהוה
