1 As regards his palace, Solomon spent thirteen years on it before the building was completed.	1 In seguito Salomone costruì il suo palazzo portandolo a termine in tredici anni.
2 He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubitshigh, on four rows of cedar-wood pil ars,	2 Costruì il palazzo della Foresta del Libano, lungo cento cubiti, largo cinquanta e alto trenta, a tre serie di colonne di cedro con capitelli di cedro sulle colonne.

8 His own living quarters, in the other court and inwards from the Hal , were of the same construction. Andthere was a house similar to this Hal for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage.	8 La sua abitazione privata, situata nell'altro cortile dietro il vestibolo, era costruita allo stesso modo; simile a questo vestibolo era anche la casa che egli costruì per la figlia del faraone da lui presa in sposa.
9 Al these buildings were of special stones cut to measure, trimmed on the inner and outer sides with thesaw, from the foundations to the coping-	9 Tutte queste costruzioni erano di pietre scelte, squadrate a misura e tagliate con la sega di dentro e di fuori, dalle fondamenta fino ai cornicioni e dal di fuori fino al cortile maggiore.
10 the foundations were of special stones, huge stones, of ten and eight cubits,	10 Anche le fondamenta erano di pietre scelte, pietre enormi, pietre di dieci e di otto cubiti.
11 and, above these, special stones, cut to measure, and cedar wood-	11 Al di sopra c'erano ancora pietre scelte, squadrate a misura, e legname di cedro.
12 and, on the outside, the great court had three courses of dressed stone round it and one course ofcedar beams; so also had the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh and the vestibule of the Temple.	12 Il cortile maggiore aveva intorno tre strati di pietre squadrate e uno strato di tavole di cedro, come il cortile interno del tempio del Signore e il vestibolo del palazzo.
13 King Solomon sent for Hiram of Tyre;	13 Il re Salomone mandò a prendere Chiram di Tiro.
14 he was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, but his father had been a Tyrian, a bronzeworker.He was a highly intel igent craftsman, skil ed in al types of bronzework. He came to King Solomon and did althis work for him.	14 Questi era figlio di una vedova della tribù di Neftali, però suo padre era di Tiro e lavorava il bronzo. Egli era dotato di abilità, di intelligenza e di perizia nell'eseguire qualsiasi lavoro in bronzo. Venuto presso il re Salomone, eseguì tutti i suoi lavori.
15 He cast the two bronze pillars; the height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and a cord twelve cubitslong gave the measurement of its girth; so also was the second pil ar.	15 Fuse le due colonne di bronzo; l'altezza di una colonna era di diciotto cubiti, mentre una corda di dodici cubiti ne misurava la circonferenza; lo spessore del bronzo era di quattro dita mentre dentro era vuota; così era pure la seconda colonna.
16 He made two capitals of cast bronze for the tops of the pil ars; the height of one capital was five cubits,and the height of the other five cubits.	16 Fece anche due capitelli di bronzo fuso da porre in cima alle colonne, alti entrambi cinque cubiti.
17 He made two sets of filigree to cover the moulding of the two capitals surmounting the pil ars, onefiligree for one capital and one filigree for the other.	17 Fece poi due reti per rivestirne i capitelli che si trovavano in cima alle colonne, una rete per ciascun capitello.
18 He also made pomegranates: two rows of them round each filigree,four hundred in al ,	18 Fece anche intorno alla rete due file di melagrane per coprire il capitello che si trovava sopra le colonne; così fece pure per il secondo capitello.
19 The capitals surrounding the pil ars were lily-shaped.	19 Sui capitelli che si trovavano in cima alle colonne v'era un manufatto in forma di loto; tutto questo nel complesso era alto quattro cubiti.
20 applied on the raised moulding behind the filigree; there were two hundred pomegranates round onecapital and the same round the other capital.	20 E v'erano capitelli sulle due colonne anche al di sopra, accanto alla sporgenza, che era al di là della rete. E le melagrane erano duecento, disposte in serie all'intorno, sopra il secondo capitello.
21 He erected the pil ars in front of the portico of the Temple, he erected the right-hand pil ar and named itJachin; he erected the left-hand pil ar and named it Boaz.	21 Innalzò le colonne davanti al vestibolo del tempio; innalzò la colonna di destra cui diede il nome Iachin e innalzò quella di sinistra che chiamò Boaz.
22 Thus, the work on the pillars was completed.	22 In cima alle colonne v'era un manufatto in forma di loto; così terminò il lavoro delle colonne.
23 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.	23 Fece poi il mare in metallo fuso; da un orlo all'altro misurava dieci cubiti; tutt'intorno era circolare; la sua altezza era di cinque cubiti, mentre una cordicella di trenta cubiti ne misurava la circonferenza.
24 Under its rim and completely encircling it were gourds surrounding the Sea; over a length of thirtycubits the gourds were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.	24 Sotto l'orlo v'era un ornato di rosoni, dieci ogni cubito, che formavano un giro intorno al mare; i rosoni erano in due ordini, fusi insieme al mare.
25 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.	25 Questo aveva lo spessore di un palmo e l'orlo come quello di una coppa, a fior di loto. Conteneva duemila bat.
26 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, lily-shaped. It couldhold two thousand measures.	26 Poggiava su dodici buoi di cui tre guardavano a settentrione, tre ad occidente, tre a mezzogiorno e tre ad oriente. Il mare poggiava su di essi e le loro parti posteriori erano rivolte all'interno.
27 He made the ten bronze stands; each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three high.	27 Fece pure dieci basi di bronzo, lunghe quattro cubiti ognuna, larghe altrettanto e alte tre cubiti.
28 They were designed as fol ows; they had an undercarriage and crosspieces to the undercarriage.	28 Questa era la loro forma: avevano dei telai e dei pannelli fra i telai.
29 On the crosspieces of the undercarriage were lions and bul s and winged creatures, and on top of theundercarriage was a support; under the lions and oxen there were scrolls in the style of. . .	29 Sui pannelli posti tra i telai erano scolpiti leoni, buoi e cherubini, e così pure sui telai; sopra e sotto i leoni e i buoi v'erano motivi a spirale.
30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles; its four feet had shoulderings under the basin,and the shoulderings were cast. . .	30 Ogni base aveva quattro ruote di bronzo, con gli assi anch'essi di bronzo. I suoi quattro piedi avevano delle spallette sotto il bacino e le spallette erano state fuse nella parte interna con ogni motivo a spirale.
31 Its mouth measured one and a half cubits from where the shoulderings met to the top; its mouth wasround like a stand for a vessel, and on the mouth there were engravings too; the crosspieces, however, wererectangular and not round.	31 La sua apertura, all'interno della corona e sopra, era alta un cubito e mezzo, di forma rotonda, fatta come la conca e fornita di sculture; invece i suoi pannelli erano quadrati anziché rotondi.
32 The four wheels were under the crosspieces. The axles of the wheels were inside the stands; theheight of the wheels was one and a half cubits.	32 Sotto i pannelli c'erano le quattro ruote con i loro assi uniti alla base; l'altezza di ogni ruota era di un cubito e mezzo.
33 The wheels were designed like chariot wheels: their axles, felloes, spokes and naves had al been cast.	33 La forma era come quella delle ruote di un carro; gli assi, i quarti, i raggi e i mozzi erano tutti d'un pezzo.
34 There were four shoulderings at the four corners of each stand: the stand and the shoulderings were alof a piece.	34 Ai quattro angoli di ogni base v'erano quattro spallette che formavano un solo pezzo con la base.
35 At the top of the stand there was a support, circular in shape and half a cubit high; and on top of thestand there were lugs. The crosspieces were of a piece with the stand.	35 In cima alla base v'era un supporto alto mezzo cubito, tutt'intorno rotondo; in cima alla base c'erano i suoi manichi e le sue spallette formavano un solo pezzo con essa.
36 On the bands he engraved winged creatures and lions and palm leaves. . . and scrol s right round.	36 Scolpì sulle tavole cherubini, leoni e palme secondo lo spazio di ciascuna e, in più, motivi a spirale all'intorno.
37 He made the ten stands like this: the same casting and the same measurements for all.	37 In questo modo egli fece le dieci basi, con un'unica fusione, un'unica misura e un'unica forma per tutte.
38 He made ten bronze basins; each basin held forty measures and each basin measured four cubits, onebasin to each of the ten stands.	38 Fece poi le dieci conche di bronzo, ognuna delle quali conteneva quaranta bat, misurava quattro cubiti e poggiava su una delle dieci basi.
39 He arranged the stands, five on the right-hand side of the Temple, five on the left-hand side of theTemple; the Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south east.	39 Collocò le basi, cinque al lato destro del tempio e cinque a quello sinistro; invece il mare lo pose al lato destro del tempio, rivolto verso sud-est.
40 Hiram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. He finished all the work that hedid for King Solomon on the Temple of Yahweh:	40 Chiram fece anche i vasi per la cenere, le palette e le coppe. Così terminò ogni lavoro di cui il re Salomone lo aveva incaricato per il tempio del Signore:
41 Two pil ars; the two mouldings of the capitals surrounding the pil ars; the two sets of filigree to coverthe two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars;	41 due colonne; le volute dei capitelli che stavano in cima alle due colonne; le due reti per coprire le due volute che stavano in cima alle colonne;
42 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree;	42 le quattrocento melagrane per le due reti; i due ordini di melagrane per ciascuna rete destinati a coprire i due capitelli sferici in cima alle colonne;
43 the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands;	43 le dieci basi e le dieci conche per le basi;

All these objects made by Hiram for KingSolomon for the Temple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.	45 i vasi per la cenere, le palette e le coppe. 50 the basins, the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, the incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; the doorpanels -- for the inner shrine -- that is, the Holy of Holies -- and for the Hekal, of gold.	50 le patere, i coltelli, i vassoi, i mortai e gli incensieri d'oro fino. Anche i cardini per i battenti dell'aula erano d'oro.
51 Thus al the work done by King Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomonbrought in the gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and the utensils putinto the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh.	51 Terminati tutti i lavori che aveva fatto fare per il tempio del Signore, Salomone portò i sacri donativi di suo padre Davide, cioè l'argento, l'oro e i vasi, deponendoli fra i tesori del tempio del Signore.
