1 As regards his palace, Solomon spent thirteen years on it before the building was completed.	1 - Salomone fabbricò la sua casa e in tredici anni la condusse a perfezione.
2 He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubitshigh, on four rows of cedar-wood pil ars,	2 Edificò anche la casa del bosco del Libano, di cento cubiti di lunghezza e cinquanta di larghezza, e trenta di altezza; e quattro gallerie tra le colonne di cedro, per le quali aveva tagliato del legno di cedro.
3 with lengths of cedar wood laid horizontal y on the pil ars. The upper part was panel ed with cedar rightdown to the tie-beams on forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row.	3 Con tavole di cedro rivestì tutto il soffitto che posava sopra quarantacinque colonne; ogni ordine aveva quindici colonne
4 There were three rows of window-frames, with the windows corresponding to one another at threelevels.	4 poste le une dirimpetto alle altre
5 Al the doorways and windows were rectangular, with the windows corresponding to one another atthree levels.	5 e le une contro le altre, ad una eguale distanza tra di loro. E sopra le colonne stavano travi quadrate perfettamente eguali.
6 He also made the Colonnade, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits broad, with a cornice in front.	6 Fece un portico di colonne lungo cinquanta cubiti, largo trenta cubiti e un altro portico di fronte al portico più grande, con colonne e con architravi sopra le colonne.
7 He also made the Hal of the Throne where he used to dispense justice, that is, the Hal of Justice; it waspanel ed in cedar from floor to beams.	7 Fece anche il portico del trono, dove era il tribunale e lo coprì di cedro dal suolo fino al soffitto.
8 His own living quarters, in the other court and inwards from the Hal , were of the same construction. Andthere was a house similar to this Hal for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage.	8 E nel mezzo del portico vi era una piccola casa di simile lavoro, nella quale si sedeva a giudicare. Fece anche per la figlia del faraone (da lui condotta in isposa) una casa dello stesso genere del portico.
9 Al these buildings were of special stones cut to measure, trimmed on the inner and outer sides with thesaw, from the foundations to the coping-	9 Tutte [queste costruzioni] erano di pietre di molto pregio, tagliate secondo misura e a tutta regola internamente ed esternamente, e ciò dalle fondamenta fino alla sommità delle pareti e al di fuori fino all'atrio maggiore.
10 the foundations were of special stones, huge stones, of ten and eight cubits,	10 Le fondamenta poi erano di pietra di gran pregio, grandi pietre di dieci o di otto cubiti.
11 and, above these, special stones, cut to measure, and cedar wood-	11 Al di sopra vi erano ancora delle pietre di molto pregio di misura eguale e del legname di cedro;
12 and, on the outside, the great court had three courses of dressed stone round it and one course ofcedar beams; so also had the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh and the vestibule of the Temple.	12 e l'atrio maggiore era rotondo e aveva tre ordini di pietre tagliate e un ordine di travi di cedro; così pure l'atrio interno della casa del Signore, e il portico della casa.
13 King Solomon sent for Hiram of Tyre;	13 Il re Salomone fece venire da Tiro, Iram
14 he was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, but his father had been a Tyrian, a bronzeworker.He was a highly intel igent craftsman, skil ed in al types of bronzework. He came to King Solomon and did althis work for him.	14 figlio di una vedova della tribù di Neftali e di un padre di Tiro, artefice in rame, pieno di sapienza e di intelligenza e abile nell'eseguire qualunque lavoro in rame. Venuto dunque dal re Salomone, Iram eseguì tutte le sue opere.
15 He cast the two bronze pillars; the height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and a cord twelve cubitslong gave the measurement of its girth; so also was the second pil ar.	15 Fece due colonne di rame, le quali avevano ciascuna diciotto cubiti di altezza e una circonferenza di dodici cubiti.
16 He made two capitals of cast bronze for the tops of the pil ars; the height of one capital was five cubits,and the height of the other five cubits.	16 Fece ancora due capitelli, di rame di getto, da porsi sulla sommità delle colonne; misuravano ciascuno cinque cubiti di altezza;
17 He made two sets of filigree to cover the moulding of the two capitals surmounting the pil ars, onefiligree for one capital and one filigree for the other.	17 e fece degli intrecci in forma di rete e dei festoni in forma di catene in ciascun capitello, mirabilmente lavorati. Ambedue i capitelli delle colonne erano di getto. Sette file di maglie erano in un capitello e sette nell'altro;
18 He also made pomegranates: two rows of them round each filigree,four hundred in al ,	18 e per compimento delle colonne fece due ordini di melagrane intorno a ciascun reticolato per coprire i capitelli sovrapposti alle colonne. Così fece per i due capitelli.
19 The capitals surrounding the pil ars were lily-shaped.	19 I capitelli poi che stavano in cima alle colonne nell'atrio erano fatti in forma di giglio ed erano di quattro cubiti.
20 applied on the raised moulding behind the filigree; there were two hundred pomegranates round onecapital and the same round the other capital.	20 Vi erano inoltre in cima alle colonne sopra i reticolati altri capitelli, proporzionati alla misura della colonna e intorno a questo secondo capitello, disposte in ordine, duecento melagrane.
21 He erected the pil ars in front of the portico of the Temple, he erected the right-hand pil ar and named itJachin; he erected the left-hand pil ar and named it Boaz.	21 Collocò le due colonne nel portico del tempio e quando ebbe alzata la colonna a mano destra, la chiamò Jachin, e collocata quella a mano sinistra, la chiamò Booz.
22 Thus, the work on the pillars was completed.	22 In cima alle colonne pose il lavoro fatto a modo di giglio; e così fu compiuta l'opera delle colonne.
23 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.	23 Fece il mare [di rame] di getto, che aveva dieci cubiti da un orlo all'altro ed era di forma rotonda; aveva cinque cubiti di altezza ed era cinto di un orlo di trenta cubiti;
24 Under its rim and completely encircling it were gourds surrounding the Sea; over a length of thirtycubits the gourds were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.	24 sotto l'orlo girava intorno per dieci cubiti un lavoro di scultura, che cingeva il bacino. I due ordini di scultura fatti di getto erano in rilievo.
25 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.	25 Esso posava sopra dodici buoi, dei quali tre guardavano a settentrione, tre ad occidente, tre a mezzogiorno e tre ad oriente; essi sostenevano il mare e le loro parti posteriori erano rivolte verso il di dentro.
26 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, lily-shaped. It couldhold two thousand measures.	26 Lo spessore poi della conca era di tre oncie: il suo orlo era fatto come l'orlo di una coppa e come la foglia di un giglio sbocciato: conteneva duemila bati.
27 He made the ten bronze stands; each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three high.	27 Fece dieci basi di rame; ciascuna avea quattro cubiti di lunghezza, quattro di larghezza e tre di altezza.
28 They were designed as fol ows; they had an undercarriage and crosspieces to the undercarriage.	28 Il lavoro delle basi era a cesello con delle sculture fra le giunture;
29 On the crosspieces of the undercarriage were lions and bul s and winged creatures, and on top of theundercarriage was a support; under the lions and oxen there were scrolls in the style of. . .	29 e tra piccole corone intrecciate vi erano leoni e buoi e cherubini; e parimenti nelle giunture superiori e sotto i leoni e i buoi pendevano come delle corregge di rame.
30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles; its four feet had shoulderings under the basin,and the shoulderings were cast. . .	30 Ogni base aveva quattro ruote di rame coi mozzi di rame e ai quattro angoli, sotto il lavacro, eranvi delle spallette di getto, volte l'una verso l'altra.
31 Its mouth measured one and a half cubits from where the shoulderings met to the top; its mouth wasround like a stand for a vessel, and on the mouth there were engravings too; the crosspieces, however, wererectangular and not round.	31 Vi era in cima alla base internamente una cavità per ricevere il bacino; quel che appariva al di fuori per un cubito era tutto rotondo e aveva un cubito e mezzo di diametro; agli angoli delle colonne vi erano varie sculture e lo spazio tra le colonne era quadrato e non rotondo.
32 The four wheels were under the crosspieces. The axles of the wheels were inside the stands; theheight of the wheels was one and a half cubits.	32 Le quattro ruote che erano ai quattro angoli della base si riunivano sotto la base; ogni ruota avea un cubito e mezzo di altezza.
33 The wheels were designed like chariot wheels: their axles, felloes, spokes and naves had al been cast.	33 Tali ruote erano quali sogliono farsi nei carri coi loro assi e raggi e mozzi e cerchi tutti di getto.
34 There were four shoulderings at the four corners of each stand: the stand and the shoulderings were alof a piece.	34 Anche le quattro spallette ai singoli angoli di ogni base erano congiunte con essa e di un sol getto colla base.
35 At the top of the stand there was a support, circular in shape and half a cubit high; and on top of thestand there were lugs. The crosspieces were of a piece with the stand.	35 La parte superiore della base si terminava con un cerchio di un mezzo cubito di altezza fatto così da potervi mettere sopra il bacino e avea le sue cesellature e sculture varie che si staccavano da esso.
36 On the bands he engraved winged creatures and lions and palm leaves. . . and scrol s right round.	36 Sopra quelle tavole che erano di rame ed agli angoli scolpì pure cherubini, leoni e palme a somiglianza di uomini diritti che sembravano non scolpiti, ma aggiunti tutt'intorno.
37 He made the ten stands like this: the same casting and the same measurements for all.	37 Allo stesso modo fece le dieci basi: la fusione, la misura e la scultura erano uguali;
38 He made ten bronze basins; each basin held forty measures and each basin measured four cubits, onebasin to each of the ten stands.	38 fece anche dieci bacini di rame; ciascuno di essi, che conteneva quaranta bati, ed era di quattro cubiti, venne posto su una delle dieci basi;
39 He arranged the stands, five on the right-hand side of the Temple, five on the left-hand side of theTemple; the Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south east.	39 le dieci basi poi furon collocate cinque al lato destro del tempio e cinque al lato sinistro e il mare di rame venne posto dal lato destro del tempio verso oriente e mezzogiorno.
40 Hiram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. He finished all the work that hedid for King Solomon on the Temple of Yahweh:	40 Iram fece anche pentole, caldaie e secchielli. Compì così tutta l'opera che il re Salomone [gli aveva fatta fare] nel tempio del Signore:
41 Two pil ars; the two mouldings of the capitals surrounding the pil ars; the two sets of filigree to coverthe two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars;	41 due colonne coi due capitelli coi cordoni sopra i capitelli delle colonne, due reticolati che coprivano i due cordoni, che erano in cima alle colonne;
42 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree;	42 e le quattrocento melagrane per i due reticolati, due ordini di melagrane in ciascun reticolato per coprire i cordoni dei capitelli, che erano in cima alle colonne;
43 the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands;	43 e dieci basi e dieci bacini sopra le basi
44 the one Sea and the twelve oxen beneath the Sea;	44 e il bacino grande e i dodici buoi che sostenevano il bacino
45 the ash containers, the scoops, and sprinkling bowls. All these objects made by Hiram for KingSolomon for the Temple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.	45 e le pentole e le caldaie e i secchielli. Tutti questi oggetti fatti da Iram al re Salomone nella casa del Signore erano di rame fino.
46 He made them by the process of sand casting, in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth andZarethan.	46 Il re li aveva fatti fondere nella pianura del Giordano nella terra argillosa tra Socot e Sartan;
47 There were so many of them, that the weight of the bronze was never calculated.	47 e Salomone ripose tutti questi utensili, ma a cagione della loro grande quantità il rame non venne pesato.
48 Solomon made all the objects designed for the Temple of Yahweh: the golden altar and the gold tablefor the loaves of permanent offering;	48 Salomone fece fabbricare tutti gli altri utensili nella casa del Signore; l'altare d'oro e la mensa d'oro su cui si ponevano i pani della proposizione,
49 the lamp-stands, five on the right and five on the left in front of the Debir, of pure gold; the floral work,the lamps, the tongs, of gold;	49 e i candelabri d'oro, cinque a destra e cinque a sinistra, davanti all'oracolo, fatti d'oro fino, come pure i fiori di giglio e le lucerne d'oro al di sopra, e gli smoccolatoi d'oro,
50 the basins, the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, the incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; the doorpanels -- for the inner shrine -- that is, the Holy of Holies -- and for the Hekal, of gold.	50 e i vasi, e le forchette, e le coppe, e i mortai e i turiboli di oro purissimo; i cardini delle porte interne del Santo dei Santi e delle porte del tempio erano pure d'oro.
51 Thus al the work done by King Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomonbrought in the gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and the utensils putinto the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh.	51 Salomone compì tutti i lavori che aveva fatto per la casa del Signore e portò l'argento e l'oro e gli oggetti che Davide suo padre aveva consacrato e li mise nei tesori della casa del Signore.
