1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year ofSolomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began building the Temple ofYahweh.	1 L'anno quattrocentottanta, dopo la uscita dei figli d'Israele dalla terra d'Egitto l'anno quarto del regno di Salomone sopra Israele, nel mese di Zio (che è il secondo dell'anno) cominciò ad essere edificata la casa del Signore.
2 The temple which King Solomon built for Yahweh was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and twenty-five high.	2 La casa che il re Salomone edificò al Signore aveva sessanta cubiti di lunghezza, venti cubiti di larghezza e trenta d'altezza.
3 The portico in front of the Hekal of the Temple was twenty cubits long across the width of the Templeand ten cubits wide along the length of the Temple.	3 Davanti al tempio vi era un portico che era lungo quanto era largo il tempio, cioè venti cubiti, ed aveva dieci cubiti di larghezza davanti alla facciata del tempio.
4 He made windows for the Temple with frames and latticework.	4 Fece nel tempio delle finestre oblique.
5 He also built an annex against the Temple wal , right round the Hekal and Debir. He built lateral storeysal round;	5 Costruì anche dei piani di camere, all'intorno, addossati al muro del tempio, e sulle mura della casa attorno al tempio e all'oracolo, fece delle camere laterali, all'intorno,
6 the lowest lateral storey was five cubits wide, the middle one six cubits, and the third seven cubits, for hehad made the outside of the Temple wal correspondingly stepped back al round, so that the annex was notattached to the Temple wal s.	6 il piano inferiore aveva la larghezza di cinque cubiti, il piano di mezzo era largo sei cubiti, il terzo era largo sette cubiti. Le travi poggiavano intorno alla casa, ma al di fuori, in modo da non penetrare nelle mura del tempio.
7 (The building of the Temple was done with quarry -- dressed stone; no sound of hammer or pick or anyiron tool was to be heard in the Temple while it was being built.)	7 La casa quando fu edificata fu fatta di pietre tagliate e già ben preparate, e cosi nè martello nè scalpello nè altro strumento di ferro fu sentito nella casa mentre era edificata.
8 The entrance to the lowest storey was at the right-hand corner of the Temple; access to the middlestorey was by a spiral staircase, and so from the middle storey to the third.	8 La porta del piano di mezzo era dalla parte destra della casa: per una scala a chiocciola si saliva al piano di mezzo, e da quel di mezzo al terzo.
9 Having finished building the Temple, he roofed the Temple with a coffered ceiling of cedar wood.	9 Fatta e finita la casa, la coperse con soffitti di cedro.
10 Round the outside of the Temple he then built the annex which was five cubits high and was joined tothe Temple by cedar-wood beams.	10 I piani di camere attorno a tutta la casa li fece di cinque cubiti d'altezza e coperse la casa con legnami di cedro.
11 And the word of Yahweh came to Solomon,	11 La parola del Signore, indirizzandosi a Salomone, disse:
12 'With regard to this temple which you are now building, if you follow my statutes and obey myordinances and faithful y follow my commandments, I shal fulfil the promise which I made about you to yourfather David.	12 « (Approvo) la casa che tu edifichi, e se tu camminerai nei miei precetti, eseguirai le mie leggi, osserverai tutti i miei comandamenti, camminando in essi, io confermerò in tuo favore la parola che dissi a David tuo padre. vi -
13 And I shal make my home among the Israelites and never forsake Israel my people.'	13 Io abiterò in mezzo ai figli d'Israele, e non abbandonerò il mio popolo d'Israele ».
14 Solomon finished building the Temple.	14 Salomone adunque edificò la casa e la compì.
15 He lined the inside of the Temple wal s with panels of cedar wood-panelling them on the inside fromthe floor of the Temple to the beams of the ceiling -- and laid the floor of the Temple with juniper planks.	15 Egli rivestì interiormente le mura della casa con tavole di cedro, dal pavimento fino alla sommità dei muri e fino al soffitto, coprì con legno di cedro la parte interna e con tavole d'abete il pavimento della casa.
16 The twenty cubits measured from the end of the Temple he built of cedar planks from the floor to thebeams, and this part was reserved as the Debir, the Holy of Holies.	16 Coprì con tavole di cedro dal pavimento al soffitto, i venti cubiti in fondo al tempio, e ne fece la casa interna dell'oracolo, cioè il Santo dei Santi.
17 The Temple measured forty cubits -- the Hekal -- in front of the Debir.	17 Il tempio propriamente detto davanti alla porta dell'oracolo era di quaranta cubiti.
18 There was cedar wood round the inside of the Temple, ornamentally carved with gourds and rosettes;al was cedar wood, with no stone showing.	18 Tutta la casa era all'interno rivestita di cedro con intagli e giunture fatte con arte, con rilievi prominenti, ogni cosa era così coperta da tavole di cedro che nessuna pietra poteva comparire nei muri.
19 In the inner part of the Temple he designed a Debir, to contain the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.	19 L'oracolo, per collocarvi l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, lo fece nel mezzo della casa, nella parte più interna.
20 The Debir was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty high, and he overlaid it on the insidewith pure gold. He made an altar of cedar wood	20 L'oracolo aveva venti cubiti di lunghezza, venti cubiti di larghezza, e venti cubiti di altezza. Salomone lo coprì e rivestì di oro purissimo, l'altare invece lo rivestì di cedro.
21 in front of the Debir and overlaid it with gold.	21 Anche la casa davanti all'oracolo la ricoperse d'oro purissimo, e vi fermò lamine (d'oro) con chiodi d'oro.
22 He overlaid the whole Temple with gold, the whole Temple entirely.	22 Nulla vi era nel tempio che non fosse coperto d'oro; coperse d'oro anche tutto l'altare dell'oracolo.
23 In the Debir he made two great winged creatures of wild-olive wood. . .It was ten cubits high.	23 Nell'oracolo fece due cherubini di legno d'ulivo, di dieci cubiti d'altezza.
24 One winged creature's wing was five cubits long and the other wing five cubits: ten cubits from wing tipto wing tip.	24 Un cherubino aveva un'ala di cinque cubiti e l'altra ala pure di cinque cu­biti, sicché v'erano dieci cubiti dall'estremità d'un'ala fino alla estremità dell'altra.
25 The other winged creature also measured ten cubits; both had the same measurements and the sameshape.	25 Il secondo cherubino era pure di dieci cubiti: delle stesse dimensioni e della stessa forma erano tutt'e due i cherubini,
26 The height of one was the same as the other's.	26 Cioè tanto l'uno che l'altro dei cherubini aveva l'altezza di dieci cubiti.
27 He placed them in the middle of the inner chamber; their wings were spread out so that the wing of onetouched one of the wal s and the wing of the other touched the other wall, while their wings met in the middle ofthe chamber wing to wing.	27 Mise i cherubini nel mezzo del tempio interiore. I cherubini tenevan tese le loro ali, e l'ala di uno toccava una parete e l'ala dell'altro cherubino toccava l'altra parete, le altre due ali si toccavano l'una l'altra nel mezzo del tempio.
28 And he overlaid them with gold.	28 Ricoperse d'oro anche i cherubini.
29 Al round the Temple wal s he carved figures of winged creatures, palm trees and rosettes, both insideand outside.	29 Tutte le pareti del tempio torno torno le fece ornare di rilievi e d'intagli, facendovi fare dei cherubini, delle palme e varie figure che sembravano staccarsi dalla parete per uscirne.
30 He overlaid the floor of the Temple with gold, both inside and outside.	30 Anche il pavimento della casa, interna ed esterna, lo ricoperse d'oro.
31 He made the door of the Debir with uprights of wild-olive wood, and door jambs with five indentedsections,	31 All'ingresso dell'oracolo fece delle porticine di legno d'ulivo con stipiti a cinque angoli,
32 and the two leaves of wild-olive wood. He carved figures of great winged creatures, palm trees androsettes which he overlaid with gold, and he gilded winged creatures and palm trees.	32 coi due battenti di legno d'ulivo, ove fece scolpir figure di cherubini, di palme, e dei bassi rilievi molto pronunziati; le rivesti d'oro, come rivestì pure d'oro i cherubini, le palme, e tutte le altre cose.
33 Similarly, he made uprights of wild-olive wood for the door of the Hekal, and door jambs with fourindented sections,	33 All'ingresso del tempio fece degli stipiti quadrangolari di legno d'ulivo,
34 and the two leaves of juniper: one leaf had two ribs binding it, and the other had two ribs binding it.	34 e due porte di legno d'abete, una da un lato ed una dall'altro; ciascuna delle porte aveva due battenti che si aprivano ripiegandosi.
35 He carved winged creatures, palm trees and rosettes, which he overlaid with gold laid evenly over thecarvings.	35 Vi scolpì dei cherubini, delle palme e dei rilievi molto sporgenti, e ricoperse ogni cosa con lamine d'oro con lavoro fatto a regola e a squadra.
36 He built the wal of the inner court in three courses of dressed stone and one course of cedar beams.	36 L'atrio interiore lo fece con tre ordini di pietre lavorate e un ordine di legname di cedro.
37 In the fourth year, in the month of Ziv, the foundations of the Temple were laid;	37 L'anno quarto, nel mese di Zio, furono posti i fondamenti della casa del Signore,
38 in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul -- that is, the eighth month -- the Temple was completedexactly as it had been planned and designed. Solomon took seven years to build it.	38 e nell'anno undicesimo, nel mese di Bui (che è l'ottavo mese), la casa fu terminata con tutti i suoi lavori e tutti i suoi utensili: la fece in sette anni.
