1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year ofSolomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began building the Temple ofYahweh.	1 - Nell'anno quattrocento ottanta dall'uscita dei figliuoli di Israele dalla terra di Egitto, nell'anno quarto del regno di Salomone sopra Israele, nel mese di Zio, (cioè nel secondo mese), s'incominciò ad edificare la casa del Signore.
2 The temple which King Solomon built for Yahweh was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and twenty-five high.	2 La casa, che il re Salomone costruì al Signore, avea sessanta cubiti di lunghezza, venti cubiti di larghezza e trenta cubiti di altezza.
3 The portico in front of the Hekal of the Temple was twenty cubits long across the width of the Templeand ten cubits wide along the length of the Temple.	3 Davanti al tempio eravi un portico lungo venti cubiti, tanto cioè quanto era la larghezza del tempio, e avea dieci cubiti di profondità fino alla fronte del tempio.
4 He made windows for the Temple with frames and latticework.	4 Fece nel tempio delle finestre oblique.
5 He also built an annex against the Temple wal , right round the Hekal and Debir. He built lateral storeysal round;	5 Fabbricò a ridosso del muro del tempio tutto all'intorno dei piani di camere, che circondavano il muro della casa e il tempio e l'oracolo, e fece camere laterali in giro;
6 the lowest lateral storey was five cubits wide, the middle one six cubits, and the third seven cubits, for hehad made the outside of the Temple wal correspondingly stepped back al round, so that the annex was notattached to the Temple wal s.	6 il piano inferiore era largo cinque cubiti, quello di mezzo avea sei cubiti e il terzo sette cubiti di larghezza, e pose le travi intorno al tempio al di fuori, così che non fossero incastrate nelle mura del tempio.
7 (The building of the Temple was done with quarry -- dressed stone; no sound of hammer or pick or anyiron tool was to be heard in the Temple while it was being built.)	7 Quando si edificò il tempio si usarono pietre tagliate e ben lavorate, così che nè martello nè scure nè altro istrumento di ferro si udì nel tempio, mentre veniva costruito.
8 The entrance to the lowest storey was at the right-hand corner of the Temple; access to the middlestorey was by a spiral staircase, and so from the middle storey to the third.	8 L'entrata delle camere del piano inferiore era al lato destro del tempio, e si saliva al piano di mezzo, con una scala a chiocciola e così dal piano di mezzo al terzo piano.
9 Having finished building the Temple, he roofed the Temple with a coffered ceiling of cedar wood.	9 Dopo aver terminato di fabbricare il tempio, Salomone lo coprì con soffitti di cedro.
10 Round the outside of the Temple he then built the annex which was five cubits high and was joined tothe Temple by cedar-wood beams.	10 E fabbricò dei piani di camere attorno a tutto il tempio, dando a ciascuno cinque cubiti d'altezza e coprì il tempio con legni di cedro.
11 And the word of Yahweh came to Solomon,	11 Il Signore, rivolta la parola a Salomone, gli disse:
12 'With regard to this temple which you are now building, if you follow my statutes and obey myordinances and faithful y follow my commandments, I shal fulfil the promise which I made about you to yourfather David.	12 «Questa è la casa che tu edifichi; se tu camminerai secondo le mie leggi, se metterai in pratica i miei precetti e osserverai tutti i comandi miei seguendoli in tutto, confermerò in tuo favore la promessa fatta a Davide tuo padre;
13 And I shal make my home among the Israelites and never forsake Israel my people.'	13 e abiterò in mezzo ai figli d'Israele e non abbandonerò mai più il mio popolo d'Israele».
14 Solomon finished building the Temple.	14 Dopo aver finito di fabbricare il tempio, Salomone
15 He lined the inside of the Temple wal s with panels of cedar wood-panelling them on the inside fromthe floor of the Temple to the beams of the ceiling -- and laid the floor of the Temple with juniper planks.	15 ne rivestì le pareti interne di tavole di cedro, dal pavimento fino alla sommità delle pareti e fino al soffitto: rivestì perciò di legno di cedro l'interno e coprì il pavimento con tavole di abete.
16 The twenty cubits measured from the end of the Temple he built of cedar planks from the floor to thebeams, and this part was reserved as the Debir, the Holy of Holies.	16 Costruì parimenti con tavole di cedro i venti cubiti dalla parte posteriore del tempio, dal pavimento fino al soffitto e fece la parte interna dell'oracolo, cioè il Santo dei Santi.
17 The Temple measured forty cubits -- the Hekal -- in front of the Debir.	17 I quaranta cubiti della parte innanzi alle porte dell'oracolo formavano il tempio.
18 There was cedar wood round the inside of the Temple, ornamentally carved with gourds and rosettes;al was cedar wood, with no stone showing.	18 Tutto il tempio internamente era rivestito di legno di cedro, con intagliature e giunture fatte con grande abilità e con sculture a bassorilievo. Tutto era rivestito di tavole di cedro e nessuna pietra poteva scorgersi all'interno delle pareti.
19 In the inner part of the Temple he designed a Debir, to contain the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.	19 Fece nella parte più interna del tempio l'oracolo, dove porre l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore.
20 The Debir was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty high, and he overlaid it on the insidewith pure gold. He made an altar of cedar wood	20 Ora l'oracolo aveva venti cubiti di larghezza, venti di lunghezza e venti di altezza e fu coperto e rivestito di oro purissimo; ma l'altare era rivestito di cedro.
21 in front of the Debir and overlaid it with gold.	21 Anche la casa che stava dinanzi all'oracolo fu coperta di oro purissimo e le lamine erano fissate con chiodi d'oro.
22 He overlaid the whole Temple with gold, the whole Temple entirely.	22 Nulla eravi nel tempio che non fosse coperto di oro; come pure fu coperto d'oro tutto l'altare dell'oracolo.
23 In the Debir he made two great winged creatures of wild-olive wood. . .It was ten cubits high.	23 Fece nell'oracolo due cherubini con legno di olivo, di dieci cubiti di altezza.
24 One winged creature's wing was five cubits long and the other wing five cubits: ten cubits from wing tipto wing tip.	24 Ciascuna delle ali di un cherubino era di cinque cubiti, il che faceva dieci cubiti dall'estremità di una delle ali all'estremità dell'altra.
25 The other winged creature also measured ten cubits; both had the same measurements and the sameshape.	25 Anche il secondo cherubino avea dieci cubiti ed era della stessa misura e della stessa forma dell'altro;
26 The height of one was the same as the other's.	26 vale a dire un cherubino avea dieci cubiti di altezza e parimenti il secondo cherubino.
27 He placed them in the middle of the inner chamber; their wings were spread out so that the wing of onetouched one of the wal s and the wing of the other touched the other wall, while their wings met in the middle ofthe chamber wing to wing.	27 Pose i cherubini in mezzo al tempio inferiore; essi, stendendo le loro ali, toccavano con l'ala del primo cherubino una parete e con l'ala del secondo l'altra parete; colle altre due ali che stavano in mezzo al tempio si toccavano a vicenda.
28 And he overlaid them with gold.	28 Anche i cherubini li rivestì di oro.
29 Al round the Temple wal s he carved figures of winged creatures, palm trees and rosettes, both insideand outside.	29 Tutte le pareti del tempio all'intorno scolpì con vari rilievi ed intagli, vi rappresentò cherubini, palme e figure diverse che sembravano staccarsi e sporgersi fuori dalla parete.
30 He overlaid the floor of the Temple with gold, both inside and outside.	30 Anche il pavimento del tempio coprì d'oro sia nella parte interna che esterna.
31 He made the door of the Debir with uprights of wild-olive wood, and door jambs with five indentedsections,	31 All'entrata dell'oracolo fece piccole porte di legno d'olivo, degli stipiti a cinque angoli,
32 and the two leaves of wild-olive wood. He carved figures of great winged creatures, palm trees androsettes which he overlaid with gold, and he gilded winged creatures and palm trees.	32 e due porte di legno d'olivo. Vi scolpì delle figure di cherubini, di palme e di bassorilievi che sporgevano molto in fuori e le coprì di oro e coprì d'oro tanto i cherubini, come le palme e le altre cose.
33 Similarly, he made uprights of wild-olive wood for the door of the Hekal, and door jambs with fourindented sections,	33 Parimenti all'ingresso del tempio fece imposte di legno d'olivo quadrangolari
34 and the two leaves of juniper: one leaf had two ribs binding it, and the other had two ribs binding it.	34 e due porte di legno di abete. Ciascuna porta aveva due battenti e si apriva tenendo uniti insieme i due battenti.
35 He carved winged creatures, palm trees and rosettes, which he overlaid with gold laid evenly over thecarvings.	35 Vi fece scolpire cherubini, palme e altre sculture molto sporgenti e le ricoprì tutte d'oro, con lavoro fatto a squadra.
36 He built the wal of the inner court in three courses of dressed stone and one course of cedar beams.	36 Ed edificò l'atrio interno di tre ordini di pietre riquadrate e di un ordine di legno di cedro.
37 In the fourth year, in the month of Ziv, the foundations of the Temple were laid;	37 L'anno quarto nel mese di Zio furon gettate le fondamenta del tempio del Signore,
38 in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul -- that is, the eighth month -- the Temple was completedexactly as it had been planned and designed. Solomon took seven years to build it.	38 e nell'anno undecimo, nel mese di Bul (vale a dire nel mese ottavo) fu compiuto il tempio in tutte le sue parti e in tutti i suoi utensili. [Salomone] impiegò adunque sette anni a fabbricarlo.
