1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year ofSolomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began building the Temple ofYahweh.	1 Nell'anno quattrocentottanta dopo l'uscita dei figli d'Israele dal paese d'Egitto, nel quinto anno del regno di Salomone su Israele, nel mese di Ziv, il secondo mese dell'anno, egli incominciò a costruire il tempio del Signore.
2 The temple which King Solomon built for Yahweh was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and twenty-five high.	2 Il tempio che il re Salomone costruì al Signore era lungo sessanta cubiti, largo venti e alto trenta.

4 He made windows for the Temple with frames and latticework.	4 Fece al tempio finestre quadrate e a griglie.
5 He also built an annex against the Temple wal , right round the Hekal and Debir. He built lateral storeysal round;	5 Fabbricò pure a ridosso del muro del tempio un annesso attorno all'aula e alla cella; e vi costruì intorno degli appartamenti.
6 the lowest lateral storey was five cubits wide, the middle one six cubits, and the third seven cubits, for hehad made the outside of the Temple wal correspondingly stepped back al round, so that the annex was notattached to the Temple wal s.	6 Il piano inferiore era largo cinque cubiti, l'intermedio sei cubiti e il terzo sette cubiti, perché egli fece il lato esterno a rientranze, tutt'intorno al tempio, per non penetrare nelle mura del tempio.
7 (The building of the Temple was done with quarry -- dressed stone; no sound of hammer or pick or anyiron tool was to be heard in the Temple while it was being built.)	7 Nella costruzione del tempio si usarono pietre già squadrate, cosicché, durante la costruzione, non si udì nel tempio rumore di martelli o di piccone o di qualsiasi strumento di ferro.
8 The entrance to the lowest storey was at the right-hand corner of the Temple; access to the middlestorey was by a spiral staircase, and so from the middle storey to the third.	8 L'ingresso al piano inferiore era situato al lato destro del tempio; di qui, mediante una scala a chiocciola, si saliva al piano intermedio e da questo al terzo.
9 Having finished building the Temple, he roofed the Temple with a coffered ceiling of cedar wood.	9 Dopo aver condotto a termine la costruzione del tempio, gli fece un soffitto con tavole e travi di cedro.
10 Round the outside of the Temple he then built the annex which was five cubits high and was joined tothe Temple by cedar-wood beams.	10 Costruì pure l'annesso intorno a tutto il tempio, alto cinque cubiti per piano, e lo collegò con il tempio mediante legni di cedro.
11 And the word of Yahweh came to Solomon,	11 La parola del Signore fu rivolta a Salomone in questi termini:
12 'With regard to this temple which you are now building, if you follow my statutes and obey myordinances and faithful y follow my commandments, I shal fulfil the promise which I made about you to yourfather David.	12 "Per questo tempio che tu mi stai edificando, sappi che, se camminerai secondo i miei statuti, eseguirai i miei ordini e custodirai tutti i miei comandi, camminando in conformità ad essi, anch'io darò compimento alla mia promessa su di te, quella che ho fatta a Davide tuo padre,

14 Solomon finished building the Temple.	14 Così Salomone costruì il tempio e lo portò a termine.
15 He lined the inside of the Temple wal s with panels of cedar wood-panelling them on the inside fromthe floor of the Temple to the beams of the ceiling -- and laid the floor of the Temple with juniper planks.	15 Allestì pure l'interno delle pareti del tempio con tavole di cedro, rivestendole internamente di legno dal pavimento del tempio fino alle travi del soffitto e coprì il pavimento del tempio con tavole di cipresso.
16 The twenty cubits measured from the end of the Temple he built of cedar planks from the floor to thebeams, and this part was reserved as the Debir, the Holy of Holies.	16 Rivestì di tavole di cedro anche lo spazio di venti cubiti in fondo al tempio, dal pavimento alle travi, riservandolo per la cella, cioè il santo dei santi.
17 The Temple measured forty cubits -- the Hekal -- in front of the Debir.	17 L'aula era di quaranta cubiti dinanzi alla cella.
18 There was cedar wood round the inside of the Temple, ornamentally carved with gourds and rosettes;al was cedar wood, with no stone showing.	18 Il legno di cedro all'interno del tempio era scolpito a rosoni e a ghirlande di fiori; il tutto era di cedro né si vedeva alcuna pietra.
19 In the inner part of the Temple he designed a Debir, to contain the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.	19 Dentro il tempio fece approntare una cella per collocarvi l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore.
20 The Debir was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty high, and he overlaid it on the insidewith pure gold. He made an altar of cedar wood	20 La cella misurava venti cubiti di lunghezza, venti di larghezza e venti di altezza; egli la rivestì di oro finissimo e fece un altare di cedro.
21 in front of the Debir and overlaid it with gold.	21 Salomone rivestì il tempio all'interno di oro finissimo e stese catenelle auree dinanzi alla cella, tutta rivestita d'oro.
22 He overlaid the whole Temple with gold, the whole Temple entirely.	22 Rivestì completamente di oro tutto il tempio e tutto l'altare ch'era dinanzi alla cella.
23 In the Debir he made two great winged creatures of wild-olive wood. . .It was ten cubits high.	23 Nella cella poi fece due cherubini di legno d'ulivo, alti ciascuno dieci cubiti.
24 One winged creature's wing was five cubits long and the other wing five cubits: ten cubits from wing tipto wing tip.	24 Un'ala del cherubino misurava cinque cubiti e l'altra ala del cherubino misurava pur essa cinque cubiti: c'erano dieci cubiti dall'estremità di un'ala all'estremità dell'altra.
25 The other winged creature also measured ten cubits; both had the same measurements and the sameshape.	25 Il secondo cherubino era pure di dieci cubiti; identica era la dimensione e identica la figura dei due cherubini.
26 The height of one was the same as the other's.	26 L'altezza del primo cherubino era di dieci cubiti, e così anche quella del secondo.
27 He placed them in the middle of the inner chamber; their wings were spread out so that the wing of onetouched one of the wal s and the wing of the other touched the other wall, while their wings met in the middle ofthe chamber wing to wing.	27 Collocò i due cherubini nell'interno del tempio, in fondo; qui tenevano le loro ali distese in modo che l'ala del primo toccava la parete e l'ala del secondo toccava la parete opposta e le ali di mezzo al tempio si toccavano, ala ad ala.
28 And he overlaid them with gold.	28 Rivestì d'oro i cherubini.
29 Al round the Temple wal s he carved figures of winged creatures, palm trees and rosettes, both insideand outside.	29 Su tutte le pareti del tempio, all'intorno, scolpì figure di cherubini, palme e ghirlande di fiori, tanto all'interno che all'esterno.
30 He overlaid the floor of the Temple with gold, both inside and outside.	30 Ricoprì d'oro il pavimento del tempio, tanto all'interno che all'esterno.
31 He made the door of the Debir with uprights of wild-olive wood, and door jambs with five indentedsections,	31 Fece la porta della cella con battenti in legno d'ulivo; l'architrave e gli stipiti formavano un pentagono.
32 and the two leaves of wild-olive wood. He carved figures of great winged creatures, palm trees androsettes which he overlaid with gold, and he gilded winged creatures and palm trees.	32 Fece anche due battenti in legno d'ulivo su cui scolpì figure di cherubini, palme e ghirlande di fiori, che ricoprì d'oro; in particolare pose foglie d'oro sui cherubini e sulle palme.
33 Similarly, he made uprights of wild-olive wood for the door of the Hekal, and door jambs with fourindented sections,	33 Ugualmente per la porta dell'aula sacra fece stipiti in legno d'ulivo, stipiti quadrangolari
34 and the two leaves of juniper: one leaf had two ribs binding it, and the other had two ribs binding it.	34 e due battenti in legno di cipresso: ognuno constava di due pezzi pieghevoli su se stessi.
35 He carved winged creatures, palm trees and rosettes, which he overlaid with gold laid evenly over thecarvings.	35 Vi scolpì cherubini, palme e ghirlande di fiori e li rivestì d'oro perfettamente aderente.
36 He built the wal of the inner court in three courses of dressed stone and one course of cedar beams.	36 Quindi costruì il muro del cortile interno con tre strati di pietre squadrate e uno strato di tavole di cedro.
37 In the fourth year, in the month of Ziv, the foundations of the Temple were laid;	37 Nel quarto anno, il mese di Ziv, furono gettate le fondamenta del tempio del Signore;
38 in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul -- that is, the eighth month -- the Temple was completedexactly as it had been planned and designed. Solomon took seven years to build it.	38 nell'anno undicesimo, nel mese di Bul, che è l'ottavo, il tempio fu condotto a termine secondo tutto il suo piano e tutto il suo ordinamento.
