1 Every high priest is taken from among men and made their representative before God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.	1 Ogni sommo sacerdote, infatti, il quale è assunto di tra gli uomini, viene costituito a vantaggio degli uomini nelle cose che riguardano Dio, affinché offra doni e sacrifici per i peccati,
2 He is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring, for he himself is beset by weakness	2 capace d’essere moderato e indulgente verso gli ignoranti e gli sviati, poiché anch’egli è rivestito di debolezza
3 and so, for this reason, must make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people.	3 e a causa di essa deve, come per il popolo, così anche per se stesso, offrire sacrifici d’espiazione.
4 No one takes this honor upon himself but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.	4 né alcuno si prende da sé questa dignità, ma solo se chiamato da Dio, come anche Aronne.
5 In the same way, it was not Christ who glorified himself in becoming high priest, but rather the one who said to him: "You are my son; this day I have begotten you";	5 Così anche Cristo non s’arrogò la gloria di divenire sommo sacerdote, ma gliela conferì colui che gli ha detto: Figlio mio sei tu: io oggi l’ho generato:
6 just as he says in another place: "You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."	6 Come anche in altro luogo dice: Tu sei sacerdote in eterno secondo l’ordine di Melchisedec.
7 In the days when he was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.	7 Lui che nei giorni della sua vita mortale, avendo innalzato preghiere e su pliche con forte gemito e lacrime a chi poteva liberarlo da morte, ed essendo stato esaudito per la sua pietà, ;
8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered;	8 imperò quantunque Figlio, per le cose patite l’obbedienza,
9 and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,	9 e, reso perfetto, divenne per tutti coloro che l’obbediscono causa di salvezza eterna,
10 declared by God high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.	10 proclamato da Dio sommo sacerdote secondo l'ordine di Melchisedec.
11 About this we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, for you have become sluggish in hearing.	11 Sopra di che molte cose avremmo da dire difficili a spiegare, poiché siete divenuti lenti a capire.
12 Although you should be teachers by this time, you need to have someone teach you again the basic elements of the utterances of God. You need milk, (and) not solid food.	12 Infatti, mentre dovreste, a ragione del tempo, essere maestri, avete ancora bisogno che altri v’insegni i primi rudimenti degli oracoli di Dio e siete divenuti bisognosi di latte e non di solido nutrimento.
13 Everyone who lives on milk lacks experience of the word of righteousness, for he is a child.	13 Ora chi si nutre di latte è ignaro della dottrina di giustizia, perché è bambino.
14 But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties are trained by practice to discern good and evil.	14 Dei perfetti, invece, è il solido nutrimento: di quelli che, per l’esercizio, hanno le facoltà addestrate a distinguere il buono e il cattivo.
