Ezekiel 21

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	LXX
1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων
2 Son of man, look southward, preach toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the southern land.	2 υιε ανθρωπου στηρισον το προσωπον σου επι θαιμαν και επιβλεψον επι δαρωμ και προφητευσον επι δρυμον ηγουμενον ναγεβ
3 Hear the word of the LORD! you shall say to the southern forest. Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am kindling a fire in you that shall devour all trees, the green as well as the dry. The blazing flame shall not be quenched, but from south to north every face shall be scorched by it.	3 και ερεις τω δρυμω ναγεβ ακουε λογον κυριου ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος ιδου εγω αναπτω εν σοι πυρ και καταφαγεται εν σοι παν ξυλον χλωρον και παν ξυλον ξηρον ου σβεσθησεται η φλοξ η εξαφθεισα και κατακαυθησεται εν αυτη παν προσωπον απο απηλιωτου εως βορρα
4 Everyone shall see that I, the LORD, have kindled it, and it shall not be quenched.	4 και επιγνωσονται πασα σαρξ οτι εγω κυριος εξεκαυσα αυτο και ου σβεσθησεται
5 But I said, "Alas! Lord GOD, they say to me, 'Is not this the one who is forever spinning parables?'"	5 και ειπα μηδαμως κυριε κυριε αυτοι λεγουσιν προς με ουχι παραβολη εστιν λεγομενη αυτη
6 Then the word of the LORD came to me:	6 και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων
7 Son of man, look toward Jerusalem, preach against their sanctuary, and prophesy against the land of Israel,	7 δια τουτο προφητευσον υιε ανθρωπου και στηρισον το προσωπον σου επι ιερουσαλημ και επιβλεψον επι τα αγια αυτων και προφητευσεις επι την γην του ισραηλ
8 saying to the land of Israel: Thus says the LORD: See! I am coming at you; I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you the virtuous and the wicked.	8 και ερεις προς την γην του ισραηλ ιδου εγω προς σε και εκσπασω το εγχειριδιον μου εκ του κολεου αυτου και εξολεθρευσω εκ σου αδικον και ανομον
9 Thus my sword shall leave its sheath against everyone from south to north,	9 ανθ' ων εξολεθρευσω εκ σου αδικον και ανομον ουτως εξελευσεται το εγχειριδιον μου εκ του κολεου αυτου επι πασαν σαρκα απο απηλιωτου εως βορρα
10 and everyone shall know that I, the LORD, have drawn my sword from its sheath, and it shall not be sheathed again.	10 και επιγνωσεται πασα σαρξ διοτι εγω κυριος εξεσπασα το εγχειριδιον μου εκ του κολεου αυτου και ουκ αποστρεψει ουκετι
11 As for you, son of man, groan! with shattered strength groan bitterly while they look on.	11 και συ υιε ανθρωπου καταστεναξον εν συντριβη οσφυος σου και εν οδυναις στεναξεις κατ' οφθαλμους αυτων
12 And when they ask you, "Why are you groaning?", you shall say: Because of a report; when it comes every heart shall fail, every hand shall fall helpless, every spirit shall be daunted, and every knee shall run with water. See, it is coming, it is here! says the Lord GOD.	12 και εσται εαν ειπωσιν προς σε ενεκα τινος συ στεναζεις και ερεις επι τη αγγελια διοτι ερχεται και θραυσθησεται πασα καρδια και πασαι χειρες παραλυθησονται και εκψυξει πασα σαρξ και παν πνευμα και παντες μηροι μολυνθησονται υγρασια ιδου ερχεται και εσται λεγει κυριος κυριος
13 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	13 και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων
14 Son of man, prophesy! say: Thus says the LORD: A sword, a sword has been sharpened, a sword, a sword has been burnished:	14 υιε ανθρωπου προφητευσον και ερεις ταδε λεγει κυριος ειπον ρομφαια ρομφαια οξυνου και θυμωθητι
15 To work slaughter has it been sharpened, to flash lightning has it been burnished. Why should I now withdraw it? You have spurned the rod and every judgment!	15 οπως σφαξης σφαγια οξυνου οπως γενη εις στιλβωσιν ετοιμη εις παραλυσιν σφαζε εξουδενει απωθου παν ξυλον
16 I have given it over to the burnisher that he might hold it in his hand, A sword sharpened and burnished to be put in the hand of a slayer.	16 και εδωκεν αυτην ετοιμην του κρατειν χειρα αυτου εξηκονηθη ρομφαια εστιν ετοιμη του δουναι αυτην εις χειρα αποκεντουντος
17 Cry out and wail, son of man, for it is destined for my people; It is for all the princes of Israel, victims of the sword with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,	17 ανακραγε και ολολυξον υιε ανθρωπου οτι αυτη εγενετο εν τω λαω μου αυτη εν πασιν τοις αφηγουμενοις του ισραηλ παροικησουσιν επι ρομφαια εγενετο εν τω λαω μου δια τουτο κροτησον επι την χειρα σου
18 for the sword has been tested; and why should it not be so? says the Lord GOD, since you have spurned the rod.	18 οτι δεδικαιωται και τι ει και φυλη απωσθη ουκ εσται λεγει κυριος κυριος
19 As for you, son of man, prophesy, brushing one hand against the other: While the sword is doubled and tripled, this sword of slaughter, This great sword of slaughter which threatens all around,	19 και συ υιε ανθρωπου προφητευσον και κροτησον χειρα επι χειρα και διπλασιασον ρομφαιαν η τριτη ρομφαια τραυματιων εστιν ρομφαια τραυματιων η μεγαλη και εκστησει αυτους
20 That every heart may tremble; for many will be the fallen. At all their gates I have appointed the sword for slaughter, Fashioned to flash lightning, burnished for slaughter.	20 οπως θραυσθη η καρδια και πληθυνθωσιν οι ασθενουντες επι πασαν πυλην αυτων παραδεδονται εις σφαγια ρομφαιας ευ γεγονεν εις σφαγην ευ γεγονεν εις στιλβωσιν
21 Cleave to the right! destroy! to the left! wherever your edge is turned.	21 διαπορευου οξυνου εκ δεξιων και εξ ευωνυμων ου αν το προσωπον σου εξεγειρηται
22 Then I, too, shall brush one hand against the other and wreak my fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.	22 και εγω δε κροτησω χειρα μου προς χειρα μου και εναφησω τον θυμον μου εγω κυριος λελαληκα
23 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	23 και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων
24 Son of man, make for yourself two roads over which the sword of the king of Babylon can come. Both roads shall lead out from the same land. Then put a signpost at the head of each road,	24 και συ υιε ανθρωπου διαταξον σεαυτω δυο οδους του εισελθειν ρομφαιαν βασιλεως βαβυλωνος εκ χωρας μιας εξελευσονται αι δυο και χειρ εν αρχη οδου πολεως επ' αρχης
25 so that the sword can come to Rabbah of the Ammonites or to Judah's capital, Jerusalem.	25 οδου διαταξεις του εισελθειν ρομφαιαν επι ραββαθ υιων αμμων και επι την ιουδαιαν και επι ιερουσαλημ εν μεσω αυτης
26 For at the fork where the two roads divide stands the king of Babylon, divining; he has shaken the arrows, inquired of the teraphim, inspected the liver.	26 διοτι στησεται βασιλευς βαβυλωνος επι την αρχαιαν οδον επ' αρχης των δυο οδων του μαντευσασθαι μαντειαν του αναβρασαι ραβδον και επερωτησαι εν τοις γλυπτοις και ηπατοσκοπησασθαι εκ δεξιων αυτου
27 In his right hand is the divining arrow marked "Jerusalem," bidding him to give the order for slaying, to raise his voice in the battle cry, to post battering rams at the gates, to cast up a ramp, to build a siege tower.	27 εγενετο το μαντειον επι ιερουσαλημ του βαλειν χαρακα του διανοιξαι στομα εν βοη υψωσαι φωνην μετα κραυγης του βαλειν χαρακα επι τας πυλας αυτης και βαλειν χωμα και οικοδομησαι βελοστασεις
28 In their eyes this is but a lying oracle; yet they are bound by the oaths they have sworn, and the arrow taken in hand marks their guilt.	28 και αυτος αυτοις ως μαντευομενος μαντειαν ενωπιον αυτων και αυτος αναμιμνησκων αδικιας αυτου μνησθηναι
29 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have drawn attention to your guilt, with your crimes laid bare and your sinfulness in all your wicked deeds revealed (because attention has been drawn to you), you shall be taken in hand.	29 δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος ανθ' ων ανεμνησατε τας αδικιας υμων εν τω αποκαλυφθηναι τας ασεβειας υμων του οραθηναι αμαρτιας υμων εν πασαις ταις ασεβειαις υμων και εν τοις επιτηδευμασιν υμων ανθ' ων ανεμνησατε εν τουτοις αλωσεσθε
30 And as for you, depraved and wicked prince of Israel, whose day is coming when your life of crime will be ended,	30 και συ βεβηλε ανομε αφηγουμενε του ισραηλ ου ηκει η ημερα εν καιρω αδικιας περας
31 thus says the Lord GOD: Off with the turban and away with the crown! Nothing shall be as it was! Up with the low and down with the high!	31 ταδε λεγει κυριος αφειλου την κιδαριν και επεθου τον στεφανον αυτη ου τοιαυτη εσται εταπεινωσας το υψηλον και το ταπεινον υψωσας
32 Twisted, twisted, twisted will I leave it; it shall not be the same until he comes who has the claim against the city; and to him I will hand it over.	32 αδικιαν αδικιαν θησομαι αυτην ουδ' αυτη τοιαυτη εσται εως ου ελθη ω καθηκει και παραδωσω αυτω
33 As for you, son of man, prophesy: Thus says the Lord GOD against the Ammonites and their insults: A sword, a sword is drawn for slaughter, burnished to consume and to flash lightning,	33 και συ υιε ανθρωπου προφητευσον και ερεις ταδε λεγει κυριος προς τους υιους αμμων και προς τον ονειδισμον αυτων και ερεις ρομφαια ρομφαια εσπασμενη εις σφαγια και εσπασμενη εις συντελειαν εγειρου οπως στιλβης
34 because you planned with false visions and lying divinations to lay it on the necks of depraved and wicked men whose day has come when their crimes are at an end.	34 εν τη ορασει σου τη ματαια και εν τω μαντευεσθαι σε ψευδη του παραδουναι σε επι τραχηλους τραυματιων ανομων ων ηκει η ημερα εν καιρω αδικιας περας
35 Return it to its sheath! In the place where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you.	35 αποστρεφε μη καταλυσης εν τω τοπω τουτω ω γεγεννησαι εν τη γη τη ιδια σου κρινω σε
36 I will pour out my indignation upon you, breathing my fiery wrath upon you, I will hand you over to ravaging men, artisans of destruction.	36 και εκχεω επι σε οργην μου εν πυρι οργης μου εμφυσησω επι σε και παραδωσω σε εις χειρας ανδρων βαρβαρων τεκταινοντων διαφθοραν
37 You shall be fuel for the fire, your blood shall flow throughout the land. You shall not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.	37 εν πυρι εση καταβρωμα το αιμα σου εσται εν μεσω της γης σου ου μη γενηται σου μνεια διοτι εγω κυριος λελαληκα
