1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:
2 Son of man, look southward, preach toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the southern land.	2 Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro hacia el mediodía, destila tus palabras hacia el sur, profetiza contra el bosque de la región del Négueb.
3 Hear the word of the LORD! you shall say to the southern forest. Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am kindling a fire in you that shall devour all trees, the green as well as the dry. The blazing flame shall not be quenched, but from south to north every face shall be scorched by it.	3 Dirás al bosque del Négueb: Escucha la palabra de Yahveh. Así dice el Señor Yahveh: He aquí que yo te prendo fuego, que devorará todo árbol verde y todo árbol seco; será una llama que no se apagará, y arderá todo, desde el Négueb hasta el Norte.
4 Everyone shall see that I, the LORD, have kindled it, and it shall not be quenched.	4 Todo el mundo verá que yo, Yahveh, lo he encendido; y no se apagará.
5 But I said, "Alas! Lord GOD, they say to me, 'Is not this the one who is forever spinning parables?'"	5 - Yo dije: ¡Ah, Señor Yahveh!, ésos andan diciendo de mí: «¿No es éste un charlatán de parábolas?» -
6 Then the word of the LORD came to me:	6 Entonces, la palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:
7 Son of man, look toward Jerusalem, preach against their sanctuary, and prophesy against the land of Israel,	7 Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro hacia Jerusalén, destila tus palabras hacia su santuario y profetiza contra la tierra de Israel.
8 saying to the land of Israel: Thus says the LORD: See! I am coming at you; I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you the virtuous and the wicked.	8 Dirás a la tierra de Israel: Así dice el Señor Yahveh: Aquí estoy contra ti; voy a sacar mi espada de la vaina y extirparé de ti al justo y al malvado.
9 Thus my sword shall leave its sheath against everyone from south to north,	9 Para extirpar de ti al justo y al malvado va a salir mi espada de la vaina, contra toda carne, desde el Négueb hasta el Norte.
10 and everyone shall know that I, the LORD, have drawn my sword from its sheath, and it shall not be sheathed again.	10 Y todo el mundo sabrá que yo, Yahveh, he sacado mi espada de la vaina; no será envainada.
11 As for you, son of man, groan! with shattered strength groan bitterly while they look on.	11 Y tú, hijo de hombre, lanza gemidos, con corazón quebrantado. Lleno de amargura, lanzarás gemidos ante sus ojos.
12 And when they ask you, "Why are you groaning?", you shall say: Because of a report; when it comes every heart shall fail, every hand shall fall helpless, every spirit shall be daunted, and every knee shall run with water. See, it is coming, it is here! says the Lord GOD.	12 Y si acaso te dicen: «¿Por qué esos gemidos?», dirás: «Por causa de una noticia a cuya llegada todos los corazones desfallecerán, desmayarán todos los brazos, todos los espíritus se amilanarán, y todas las rodillas se irán en agua. Ved que ya llega; es cosa hecha, oráculo del Señor Yahveh».
13 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	13 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:
14 Son of man, prophesy! say: Thus says the LORD: A sword, a sword has been sharpened, a sword, a sword has been burnished:	14 Hijo de hombre, profetiza. Dirás: Así dice el Señor. Di: ¡Espada, espada! Afilada está, bruñida.
15 To work slaughter has it been sharpened, to flash lightning has it been burnished. Why should I now withdraw it? You have spurned the rod and every judgment!	15 Para la matanza está afilada, para centellear está bruñida...

17 Cry out and wail, son of man, for it is destined for my people; It is for all the princes of Israel, victims of the sword with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,	17 Grita, da alaridos, hijo de hombre, porque está destinada a mi pueblo, a todos los príncipes de Israel destinados a la espada con mi pueblo. Por eso golpéate el pecho,
18 for the sword has been tested; and why should it not be so? says the Lord GOD, since you have spurned the rod.	18 pues la prueba está hecha... oráculo del Señor Yahveh.
19 As for you, son of man, prophesy, brushing one hand against the other: While the sword is doubled and tripled, this sword of slaughter, This great sword of slaughter which threatens all around,	19 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza y bate palmas. ¡Golpee la espada dos, tres veces, la espada de las víctimas, la espada de la gran víctima, que les amenaza en torno!
20 That every heart may tremble; for many will be the fallen. At all their gates I have appointed the sword for slaughter, Fashioned to flash lightning, burnished for slaughter.	20 A fin de que desmaye el corazón y abunden las ocasiones de caída, en todas las puertas he puesto yo matanza por la espada, hecha para centellear, bruñida para la matanza.
21 Cleave to the right! destroy! to the left! wherever your edge is turned.	21 ¡Toma un rumbo: a la derecha, vuélvete a la izquierda, donde tus filos sean requeridos!
22 Then I, too, shall brush one hand against the other and wreak my fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.	22 Yo también batiré palmas, saciaré mi furor. Yo, Yahveh, he hablado.
23 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	23 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:
24 Son of man, make for yourself two roads over which the sword of the king of Babylon can come. Both roads shall lead out from the same land. Then put a signpost at the head of each road,	24 Y tú, hijo de hombre, marca dos caminos por donde venga la espada del rey de Babilonia, que salgan los dos del mismo país, y marca una señalización, márcala en la cabecera del camino de la ciudad;
25 so that the sword can come to Rabbah of the Ammonites or to Judah's capital, Jerusalem.	25 trazarás el camino para que venga la espada hacia Rabbá de los ammonitas y hacia Judá, a la fortaleza de Jerusalén.
26 For at the fork where the two roads divide stands the king of Babylon, divining; he has shaken the arrows, inquired of the teraphim, inspected the liver.	26 Porque el rey de Babilonia se ha detenido en el cruce, en la cabecera de los dos caminos, para consultar a la suerte. Ha sacudido las flechas, ha interrogado a los terafim, ha observado el hígado.
27 In his right hand is the divining arrow marked "Jerusalem," bidding him to give the order for slaying, to raise his voice in the battle cry, to post battering rams at the gates, to cast up a ramp, to build a siege tower.	27 En su mano derecha está la suerte de Jerusalén: para situar arietes, dar la orden de matanza, lanzar el grito de guerra, situar arietes contra las puertas, levantar un terraplén, hacer trincheras.
28 In their eyes this is but a lying oracle; yet they are bound by the oaths they have sworn, and the arrow taken in hand marks their guilt.	28 Para ellos y a sus ojos, no es más que un vano presagio: se les había dado un juramento. Pero él recuerda las culpas por las que caerán presos.
29 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have drawn attention to your guilt, with your crimes laid bare and your sinfulness in all your wicked deeds revealed (because attention has been drawn to you), you shall be taken in hand.	29 Por eso, así dice el Señor Yahveh: Por haber hecho recordar vuestras culpas, descubriendo vuestros crímenes, haciendo aparecer vuestros pecados en todas vuestras acciones, y porque así se os ha recordado, caeréis presos en su mano.
30 And as for you, depraved and wicked prince of Israel, whose day is coming when your life of crime will be ended,	30 En cuanto a ti, vil criminal, príncipe de Israel, cuya hora ha llegado con la última culpa,
31 thus says the Lord GOD: Off with the turban and away with the crown! Nothing shall be as it was! Up with the low and down with the high!	31 así dice el Señor Yahveh: La tiara se quitará, se depondrá la corona, todo será transformado; lo humilde será elevado, lo elevado será humillado.
32 Twisted, twisted, twisted will I leave it; it shall not be the same until he comes who has the claim against the city; and to him I will hand it over.	32 Ruina, ruina, ruina, eso es lo que haré con él, como jamás la hubo, hasta que llegue aquel a quien corresponde el juicio y a quien yo se lo entregaré.
33 As for you, son of man, prophesy: Thus says the Lord GOD against the Ammonites and their insults: A sword, a sword is drawn for slaughter, burnished to consume and to flash lightning,	33 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza y di: Así dice el Señor Yahveh a los ammonitas y sus burlas. Dirás: ¡La espada, la espada está desenvainada para la matanza, bruñida para devorar, para centellear
34 because you planned with false visions and lying divinations to lay it on the necks of depraved and wicked men whose day has come when their crimes are at an end.	34 - mientras se tienen para ti visiones vanas, y para ti se presagia la mentira -, para degollar a los viles criminales cuya hora ha llegado con la última culpa!
35 Return it to its sheath! In the place where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you.	35 Vuélvela a la vaina. En el lugar donde fuiste creada, en tu tierra de origen, te juzgaré yo;
36 I will pour out my indignation upon you, breathing my fiery wrath upon you, I will hand you over to ravaging men, artisans of destruction.	36 derramaré sobre ti mi ira, soplaré contra ti el fuego de mi furia, y te entregaré en manos de hombres bárbaros, agentes de destrucción.
37 You shall be fuel for the fire, your blood shall flow throughout the land. You shall not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.	37 Serás pasto del fuego, tu sangre correrá en medio del país, no quedará de ti recuerdo alguno, porque yo, Yahveh, he hablado.
