1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
2 Son of man, look southward, preach toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the southern land.	2 Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro en dirección al sur, vaticina hacia el sur y profetiza contra el bosque del campo del Négueb.
3 Hear the word of the LORD! you shall say to the southern forest. Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am kindling a fire in you that shall devour all trees, the green as well as the dry. The blazing flame shall not be quenched, but from south to north every face shall be scorched by it.	3 Tú dirás al bosque del Négueb: Escucha la palabra del Señor. Así habla el Señor: Yo voy a prenderte fuego, y él consumirá todo árbol verde y todo árbol seco. La llama ardiente no se extinguirá y arderá toda la superficie, desde el Négueb hasta el norte.
4 Everyone shall see that I, the LORD, have kindled it, and it shall not be quenched.	4 Y todos los mortales verán que yo, el Señor, soy el que encendí ese fuego, que no se extinguirá.
5 But I said, "Alas! Lord GOD, they say to me, 'Is not this the one who is forever spinning parables?'"	5 Yo exclamé: ¡Ay, Señor! Ellos andan diciendo de mí: «¡Este no es más que un fabulador!».
6 Then the word of the LORD came to me:	6 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
7 Son of man, look toward Jerusalem, preach against their sanctuary, and prophesy against the land of Israel,	7 Hijo del hombre, vuelve tu rostro hacia Jerusalén, vaticina contra sus santuarios y profetiza contra la tierra de Israel.
8 saying to the land of Israel: Thus says the LORD: See! I am coming at you; I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you the virtuous and the wicked.	8 Tú dirás a la tierra de Israel: Así habla el Señor: Aquí estoy contra ti: yo sacaré mi espada de su vaina y extirparé de ti al justo y al impío.
9 Thus my sword shall leave its sheath against everyone from south to north,	9 Porque quiero extirpar de ti al justo y al impío, por eso saldrá mi espada de su vaina contra todos ustedes, desde el sur hasta el norte.
10 and everyone shall know that I, the LORD, have drawn my sword from its sheath, and it shall not be sheathed again.	10 Y todos los mortales sabrán que yo, el Señor, he sacado mi espada de su vaina, y no volverá a ser envainada.
11 As for you, son of man, groan! with shattered strength groan bitterly while they look on.	11 Y tú, hijo de hombre, gime; agobiado por el dolor, gime amargamente a la vista de ellos.
12 And when they ask you, "Why are you groaning?", you shall say: Because of a report; when it comes every heart shall fail, every hand shall fall helpless, every spirit shall be daunted, and every knee shall run with water. See, it is coming, it is here! says the Lord GOD.	12 Y cuando te pregunten: «¿Por qué gimes?», tú les responderás: Es por una noticia. Apenas llegue, desfallecerán todos los corazones, se paralizarán todas las manos, decaerán todos los espíritus y flaquearán todas las rodillas. Y a está por llegar, ya va a suceder –oráculo del Señor–.
13 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	13 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
14 Son of man, prophesy! say: Thus says the LORD: A sword, a sword has been sharpened, a sword, a sword has been burnished:	14 Profetiza, hijo de hombre, y di: Así habla el Señor: ¡Una espada, una espada afilada y bruñida!
15 To work slaughter has it been sharpened, to flash lightning has it been burnished. Why should I now withdraw it? You have spurned the rod and every judgment!	15 Afilada para provocar una masacre, bruñida para fulgurar como el rayo,
16 I have given it over to the burnisher that he might hold it in his hand, A sword sharpened and burnished to be put in the hand of a slayer.	16 Se la hizo bruñir para empuñarla: la espada fue afilada y bruñida para ponerla en mano de un verdugo.
17 Cry out and wail, son of man, for it is destined for my people; It is for all the princes of Israel, victims of the sword with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,	17 ¡Grita, laméntate, hijo de hombre, porque ella se alza contra mi pueblo, contra todos los príncipes de Israel, entregados a la espada junto con mi pueblo! Por eso, golpéate el pecho,
18 for the sword has been tested; and why should it not be so? says the Lord GOD, since you have spurned the rod.	18 porque es el momento de la prueba... –oráculo del Señor–.
19 As for you, son of man, prophesy, brushing one hand against the other: While the sword is doubled and tripled, this sword of slaughter, This great sword of slaughter which threatens all around,	19 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza, golpea con las palmas de tus manos. Que la espada duplique y triplique sus golpes: ella es la espada de las matanzas, la gran espada de la matanza que los tiene acorralados.
20 That every heart may tremble; for many will be the fallen. At all their gates I have appointed the sword for slaughter, Fashioned to flash lightning, burnished for slaughter.	20 Para que desfallezcan los corazones y haya muchas víctimas, yo he puesto en todas las puertas una espada, hecha para fulgurar como el rayo, bruñida para provocar una masacre.
21 Cleave to the right! destroy! to the left! wherever your edge is turned.	21 ¡Muestra tu filo a la derecha, toma posición a la izquierda, donde quiera seas dirigida!
22 Then I, too, shall brush one hand against the other and wreak my fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.	22 Yo también golpearé con las palmas de mis manos y aplacaré mi furor. Yo, el Señor, he hablado.
23 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	23 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
24 Son of man, make for yourself two roads over which the sword of the king of Babylon can come. Both roads shall lead out from the same land. Then put a signpost at the head of each road,	24 Y tú, hijo de hombre, traza dos caminos para que llegue la espada del rey de Babilonia. Los dos caminos arrancarán de un mismo país. A la entrada de cada camino, pondrás una señal indicando la dirección de una ciudad.
25 so that the sword can come to Rabbah of the Ammonites or to Judah's capital, Jerusalem.	25 Tú trazarás el camino para que la espada llegue a Rabá de los amonitas, y a Judá, que tiene su plaza fuerte en Jerusalén.
26 For at the fork where the two roads divide stands the king of Babylon, divining; he has shaken the arrows, inquired of the teraphim, inspected the liver.	26 Porque el rey de Babilonia se ha detenido en la encrucijada, allí donde se bifurcan los caminos, para consultar los presagios: sacude las flechas, consulta a los ídolos y examina el hígado de las víctimas.
27 In his right hand is the divining arrow marked "Jerusalem," bidding him to give the order for slaying, to raise his voice in the battle cry, to post battering rams at the gates, to cast up a ramp, to build a siege tower.	27 En su mano derecha está el presagio que señala «Jerusalén», para ordenar la matanza, lanzar el grito de guerra, colocar arietes contra las puertas, levantar terraplenes y construir torres de asalto.
28 In their eyes this is but a lying oracle; yet they are bound by the oaths they have sworn, and the arrow taken in hand marks their guilt.	28 A los habitantes de Jerusalén les parecerá que ese presagio es falso, porque tienen a su favor un juramento solemne. Pero él les recordará su delito, y serán capturados.
29 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have drawn attention to your guilt, with your crimes laid bare and your sinfulness in all your wicked deeds revealed (because attention has been drawn to you), you shall be taken in hand.	29 Por eso, así habla el Señor: Porque ustedes, al ser descubiertas sus rebeldías, al ponerse en evidencia los pecados que han cometido en todas sus acciones, han hecho que se les recordara su delito; y por que se han acordado de ustedes, por eso, serán capturados.
30 And as for you, depraved and wicked prince of Israel, whose day is coming when your life of crime will be ended,	30 En cuanto a ti, infame malvado, príncipe de Israel, cuyo día ha llegado al mismo tiempo que la expiación final,
31 thus says the Lord GOD: Off with the turban and away with the crown! Nothing shall be as it was! Up with the low and down with the high!	31 así habla el Señor: ¡Saquen el turbante, quiten la diadema! Esto ya no será más así: lo humilde será elevado, lo excelso será humillado.
32 Twisted, twisted, twisted will I leave it; it shall not be the same until he comes who has the claim against the city; and to him I will hand it over.	32 ¡Ruinas, ruinas, todo lo convierto en ruinas! Pero esto no sucederá hasta que llegue aquel a quien le pertenece el juicio, y a él se lo daré.
33 As for you, son of man, prophesy: Thus says the Lord GOD against the Ammonites and their insults: A sword, a sword is drawn for slaughter, burnished to consume and to flash lightning,	33 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza. Tú dirás: Así habla el Señor acerca de los amonitas y de sus sarcasmos. Tú dirás: ¡Una espada, una espada! Desenvainada para la masacre, bruñida para devorar, para fulgurar como el rayo,
34 because you planned with false visions and lying divinations to lay it on the necks of depraved and wicked men whose day has come when their crimes are at an end.	34 para descargarla sobre el cuello de los infames malvados, cuyo día llegará al mismo tiempo que la expiación final, mientras se tienen acerca de ti visiones ilusorias y se predice la mentira.
35 Return it to its sheath! In the place where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you.	35 ¡Vuelve la espada a la vaina! En el mismo lugar donde fuiste creado, en tu país de origen, yo te juzgaré.
36 I will pour out my indignation upon you, breathing my fiery wrath upon you, I will hand you over to ravaging men, artisans of destruction.	36 Derramaré mi indignación sobre ti, atizaré contra ti el fuego de mi furor, y te entregaré en manos de gente brutal, artífices del exterminio.
37 You shall be fuel for the fire, your blood shall flow throughout the land. You shall not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.	37 Serás presa del fuego, tu sangre correrá en medio del país, y no quedará ni el recuerdo de ti, porque yo, el Señor, he hablado.
