Leviticus 24

1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Így szólt továbbá az Úr Mózeshez:
2 "Order the Israelites to bring you clear oil of crushed olives for the light, so that you may keep lamps burning regularly.	2 »Parancsold meg Izrael fiainak, hogy hozzanak neked teljesen tiszta, világos faolajat, hogy állandóan mécseseket lehessen fenntartani
3 In the meeting tent, outside the veil that hangs in front of the commandments, Aaron shall set up the lamps to burn before the LORD regularly, from evening till morning. Thus, by a perpetual statute for you and your descendants,	3 a bizonyság függönyén kívül, a szövetség sátrában. Áron állítsa fel őket, estétől reggelig égjenek az Úr előtt: örök rend- és szertartás legyen ez nemzedékről nemzedékre közöttetek.
4 the lamps shall be set up on the pure gold lampstand, to burn regularly before the LORD.	4 A színarany mécstartóra kerüljenek, állandóan az Úr előtt égjenek.
5 "You shall take fine flour and bake it into twelve cakes, using two tenths of an ephah of flour for each cake.	5 Végy továbbá lisztlángot és süss belőle tizenkét kenyeret – két-két tizednyi legyen mindegyik –,
6 These you shall place in two piles, six in each pile, on the pure gold table before the LORD.	6 és tedd őket hatonként egymás mellé a színarany asztalra az Úr elé,
7 On each pile put some pure frankincense, which shall serve as an oblation to the LORD, a token offering for the bread.	7 és tégy rájuk világos tömjént, a kenyérnek az Úr tűzáldozatára szánt emlékeztető részéül.
8 Regularly on each sabbath day this bread shall be set out afresh before the LORD, offered on the part of the Israelites by an everlasting agreement.	8 Ezeket minden szombaton fel kell váltani az Úr előtt, mint örök szövetségi járandóságot Izrael fiai részéről,
9 It shall belong to Aaron and his sons, who must eat it in a sacred place, since, as something most sacred among the various oblations to the LORD, it is his by perpetual right."	9 azután Ároné és fiaié legyenek, hogy egyék meg szent helyen, mert szentséges részként őket illetik az Úr tűzáldozataiból örök törvény alapján.«
10 Among the Israelites there was a man born of an Israelite mother (Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan) and an Egyptian father.	10 Kiment pedig egy izraelita asszonynak a fia, akit ő egy egyiptomi embertől szült, Izrael fiai közé és összeveszett a táborban egy izraelita emberrel.
11 This man quarreled publicly with another Israelite and cursed and blasphemed the LORD'S name. So the people brought him to Moses,	11 Mivel eközben káromolta és szidalmazta a Nevet, elvitték Mózeshez (anyját Selomitnak hívták, s a Dán törzséből való Dibri lánya volt)
12 who kept him in custody till a decision from the LORD should settle the case for them.	12 és tömlöcbe vetették, míg megtudják, mit parancsol az Úr.
13 The LORD then said to Moses,	13 Így szólt erre az Úr Mózeshez:
14 "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and when all who heard him have laid their hands on his head, let the whole community stone him.	14 »Vidd ki a káromlót a táboron kívülre, s mindazok, akik hallották, tegyék rá a kezüket a fejére, és kövezze meg az egész nép.
15 Tell the Israelites: Anyone who curses his God shall bear the penalty of his sin;	15 Izrael fiaihoz pedig így beszélj: Aki átkozza Istenét, viselje bűnét,
16 whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall be put to death. The whole community shall stone him; alien and native alike must be put to death for blaspheming the LORD'S name.	16 s aki káromolja az Úr nevét, halállal lakoljon: kövekkel verje agyon az egész közösség, akár bennszülött, akár jövevény, mert aki az Úr nevét káromolja, annak halállal kell lakolnia.
17 "Whoever takes the life of any human being shall be put to death;	17 Aki agyonüt valakit, halállal lakoljon.
18 whoever takes the life of an animal shall make restitution of another animal. A life for a life!	18 Aki állatot üt agyon, adjon másikat helyette, azaz életet életért.
19 Anyone who inflicts an injury on his neighbor shall receive the same in return.	19 Aki sebet ejt valamely embertársán: ahogy ő tett, úgy tegyenek vele is:
20 Limb for limb, eye for eye, tooth for tooth! The same injury that a man gives another shall be inflicted on him in return.	20 törést törésért, szemet szemért, fogat fogért adjon; amilyen sebet ejtett, olyat kelljen elviselnie neki is.
21 Whoever slays an animal shall make restitution, but whoever slays a man shall be put to death.	21 Aki állatot üt agyon, adjon másikat helyette, aki embert üt agyon, lakoljon.
22 You shall have but one rule, for alien and native alike. I, the LORD, am your God."	22 Egyenlő ítélet legyen nálatok, akár jövevény, akár bennszülött vétkezik mert én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek.«
23 When Moses told this to the Israelites, they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him; they carried out the command that the LORD had given Moses.	23 Szólt erre Mózes Izrael fiainak, és kivitték a káromlót a táboron kívülre, s kövekkel agyonverték. Úgy tettek Izrael fiai, ahogy az Úr megparancsolta Mózesnek.
