1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 "Order the Israelites to bring you clear oil of crushed olives for the light, so that you may keep lamps burning regularly.	2 “Tu donneras cet ordre aux Israélites: Apportez de l’huile pure d’olives concassées pour les lampes qui brûlent sans cesse sur le chandelier.
3 In the meeting tent, outside the veil that hangs in front of the commandments, Aaron shall set up the lamps to burn before the LORD regularly, from evening till morning. Thus, by a perpetual statute for you and your descendants,	3 Aaron entretiendra la lampe du matin jusqu’au soir en présence de Yahvé, à l’extérieur du rideau qui est devant le Témoignage de la Tente du Rendez-Vous: c’est une loi perpétuelle pour vos descendants.
4 the lamps shall be set up on the pure gold lampstand, to burn regularly before the LORD.	4 Aaron entretiendra les lampes sur le chandelier d’or pur devant Yahvé sans aucune interruption.
5 "You shall take fine flour and bake it into twelve cakes, using two tenths of an ephah of flour for each cake.	5 Tu prendras de la fleur de farine et tu cuiras douze gâteaux: chaque gâteau sera fait de deux mesures.
6 These you shall place in two piles, six in each pile, on the pure gold table before the LORD.	6 Tu les disposeras en deux piles de six sur la table d’or pur devant Yahvé,
7 On each pile put some pure frankincense, which shall serve as an oblation to the LORD, a token offering for the bread.	7 et sur chacune des piles tu poseras de l’encens. Il sera sur les pains comme un rappel, comme un sacrifice à Yahvé par le feu.
8 Regularly on each sabbath day this bread shall be set out afresh before the LORD, offered on the part of the Israelites by an everlasting agreement.	8 Chaque sabbat on préparera ces pains devant Yahvé, comme le signe d’une alliance perpétuelle de la part des Israélites.
9 It shall belong to Aaron and his sons, who must eat it in a sacred place, since, as something most sacred among the various oblations to the LORD, it is his by perpetual right."	9 Les pains reviendront à Aaron et à ses fils, qui les mangeront dans un lieu saint. Ce sera pour eux une chose particulièrement sainte parmi tout ce qu’on offre à Yahvé par le feu: c’est une loi perpétuelle.
10 Among the Israelites there was a man born of an Israelite mother (Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan) and an Egyptian father.	10 Un homme né d’une mère israélite et d’un père égyptien se trouvait dans un groupe d’Israélites, et il y eut une querelle dans le camp entre ce fils d’une Israélite et un homme d’Israël.
11 This man quarreled publicly with another Israelite and cursed and blasphemed the LORD'S name. So the people brought him to Moses,	11 Le fils de la femme israélite blasphéma le nom de Dieu, il le maudit. Sa mère s’appelait Salumit, elle était fille de Dabri de la tribu de Dan. On le conduisit à Moïse
12 who kept him in custody till a decision from the LORD should settle the case for them.	12 et il fut placé sous bonne garde en attendant la décision de Yahvé.
13 The LORD then said to Moses,	13 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
14 "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and when all who heard him have laid their hands on his head, let the whole community stone him.	14 “Fais sortir du camp l’homme qui a blasphémé. Tous ceux qui l’ont entendu poseront leurs mains sur sa tête et ensuite toute l’assemblée le lapidera.
15 Tell the Israelites: Anyone who curses his God shall bear the penalty of his sin;	15 Tu diras alors aux enfants d’Israël: Tout homme qui maudit son Dieu portera le poids de son péché.
16 whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall be put to death. The whole community shall stone him; alien and native alike must be put to death for blaspheming the LORD'S name.	16 Celui qui blasphémera le nom de Yahvé sera puni de mort: toute la communauté le lapidera. Étranger ou né dans le pays, celui qui blasphème le nom sacré mourra.
17 "Whoever takes the life of any human being shall be put to death;	17 Celui qui frappe un homme à mort sera mis à mort.
18 whoever takes the life of an animal shall make restitution of another animal. A life for a life!	18 Celui qui frappe une bête à mort en donnera une autre: bête pour bête.
19 Anyone who inflicts an injury on his neighbor shall receive the same in return.	19 Si quelqu’un blesse son prochain, on lui fera comme il a fait:
20 Limb for limb, eye for eye, tooth for tooth! The same injury that a man gives another shall be inflicted on him in return.	20 fracture pour fracture; œil pour œil; dent pour dent. On lui fera la même blessure qu’il a faite à son prochain.
21 Whoever slays an animal shall make restitution, but whoever slays a man shall be put to death.	21 Celui qui aura tué une bête en rendra une autre, mais celui qui aura tué un homme sera mis à mort.
22 You shall have but one rule, for alien and native alike. I, the LORD, am your God."	22 La loi sera la même pour tous, pour l’étranger comme pour celui qui est né dans le pays: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu.”
23 When Moses told this to the Israelites, they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him; they carried out the command that the LORD had given Moses.	23 Les Israélites écoutèrent les paroles de Moïse; ils firent sortir du camp l’homme qui avait blasphémé et le lapidèrent. Les Israélites agirent comme Yahvé l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
