Isaiah 46

1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon beasts and cattle; They must be borne up on shoulders, carried as burdens by the weary.	1 Bel è in pezzi, Nabo è ridotto in polvere, i loro simulacri sono stati messi addosso a bestie, a giumenti, e i vostri fardelli li affaticano col grave peso.
2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to save those who bear them, they too go into captivity.	2 Son caduti, tutti insieme sono andati in pezzi: non han potuto salvare chi li portava, ed essi stessi andranno in schiavitù.
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, all who remain of the house of Israel, My burden since your birth, whom I have carried from your infancy.	3 Datemi ascolto, o casa di Giacobbe, e voi tutti, o resti della casa d'Israele, che siete portati dal mio seno e tenuti dalle mie viscere.
4 Even to your old age I am the same, even when your hair is gray I will bear you; It is I who have done this, I who will continue, and I who will carry you to safety.	4 Fino alla vecchiaia io sarò lo stesso, e vi porterò fino ai capelli bianchi. Io vi feci, e io vi porterò, io vi sosterrò, vi salverò.
5 Whom would you compare me with, as an equal, or match me against, as though we were alike?	5 A chi mi avete assomigliato, a chi fatto uguale, a chi m'avete paragonato, a chi fatto simile?
6 There are those who pour out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scales; Then they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god before which they fall down in worship.	6 Voi, che cavate l'oro dalla borsa e sulla stadera pesate l'argento, pagate un orefice perchè faccia un dio a cui la gente si prostra in adorazione.
7 They lift it to their shoulders to carry; when they set it in place again, it stays, and does not move from the spot. Although they cry out to it, it cannot answer; it delivers no one from distress.	7 Lo portano sulle spalle, lo sostengono, lo pongono al suo posto, e vi starà senza muoversi; ma quando alzeranno le grida verso di lui, non sentirà, nè li potrà salvare dalla tribolazione.
8 Remember this and be firm, bear it well in mind, you rebels; remember the former things, those long ago:	8 Pensate a questo e vergognatevi, o prevaricatori, tornate in voi.
9 I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.	9 Ricordate il passato: si, sono io Dio, e non ve n'è altri, non vi può essere uno simile a me,
10 At the beginning I foretell the outcome; in advance, things not yet done. I say that my plan shall stand, I accomplish my every purpose.	10 che annunzio fin da principio le ultime cose, e molto tempo avanti le cose non ancora fatte, e dico? « I miei disegni trionferanno, ogni mio volere sarà adempiuto ».
11 I call from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.	11 Io chiamo dall'oriente l'uccello, da lontana terra l'uomo dei miei voleri: l'ho detto e lo farò, l'hò deciso e lo ridurrò ad effetto.
12 Listen to me, you fainthearted, you who seem far from the victory of justice:	12 Ascoltatemi, o duri di cuore che siete lontani dalla giustizia:
13 I am bringing on my justice, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, and give to Israel my glory.	13 ho fatto avvicinare la mia giustizia: non sarà lontana, e non tarderà la mia salvezza: porrò la mia salvezza in Sion, e la mia gloria in Israele.
