Isaiah 46

1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon beasts and cattle; They must be borne up on shoulders, carried as burdens by the weary.	1 BEL è andato giù, Nebo è caduto boccone, i loro idoli sono stati posti sopra bestie, e sopra giumenti; i vostri somieri sono stati caricati d’una soma, fino a stanchezza.
2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to save those who bear them, they too go into captivity.	2 Essi son caduti boccone, e sono andati giù tutti quanti; non hanno potuto salvar quella soma; e le lor persone stesse sono andate in cattività.
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, all who remain of the house of Israel, My burden since your birth, whom I have carried from your infancy.	3 Ascoltatemi, o casa di Giacobbe, e voi, tutto il rimanente della casa d’Israele, de’ quali io mi son caricato fin dal ventre, e li ho portati fin dalla matrice;
4 Even to your old age I am the same, even when your hair is gray I will bear you; It is I who have done this, I who will continue, and I who will carry you to safety.	4 ed anche infino alla vostra vecchiezza sarò lo stesso; e vi porterò fino alla vostra canutezza; io vi ho fatti, ed altresì vi porterò; io stesso mi caricherò di voi, e vi salverò
5 Whom would you compare me with, as an equal, or match me against, as though we were alike?	5 A cui mi assomigliereste? ed a cui mi agguagliereste? a cui mi pareggereste, per essere par suo?
6 There are those who pour out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scales; Then they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god before which they fall down in worship.	6 Coloro che hanno tratto dell’oro di borsa, ed han pesato dell’argento alla stadera; che han prezzolato un orafo, il quale ne ha fatto un dio; poi gli s’inchinano, ed anche l’adorano;
7 They lift it to their shoulders to carry; when they set it in place again, it stays, and does not move from the spot. Although they cry out to it, it cannot answer; it delivers no one from distress.	7 lo levano in ispalla, lo portano; poi lo posano nel suo luogo, ove egli sta fermo, senza muoversi; benchè gridino a lui, non però risponde, e non li salva dalla lor distretta.
8 Remember this and be firm, bear it well in mind, you rebels; remember the former things, those long ago:	8 Ricordatevi di questo, e fondatevi bene; trasgressori, recatevelo al cuore.
9 I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.	9 Ricordatevi delle cose di prima, che furono già ab antico; perciocchè io sono Iddio, e non vi è alcun altra Dio, e niuno è pari a me;
10 At the beginning I foretell the outcome; in advance, things not yet done. I say that my plan shall stand, I accomplish my every purpose.	10 che annunzio da principio la fine, e ab antico le cose che non sono ancoro fatte; che dico: Il mio consiglio sarà stabile, ed io metterò ad effetto tutta la mia volontà;
11 I call from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.	11 che chiamo dal Levante un uccello, e da terra lontana l’uomo del mio consiglio; io ho parlato, ed altresì farò venire ciò che io ho detto; io ho formata la cosa, ed altresì la farò.
12 Listen to me, you fainthearted, you who seem far from the victory of justice:	12 Ascoltatemi, voi indurati di cuore, che siete lontani di giustizia;
13 I am bringing on my justice, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, and give to Israel my glory.	13 io ho fatta appessar la mia giustizia, ella non si allontanerà; e la mia salute non tarderà; io metterò la salute in Sion, e farò vedere la mia gloria ad Israele
