Isaiah 46

1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon beasts and cattle; They must be borne up on shoulders, carried as burdens by the weary.	1 Bel bricht zusammen, Nebo krümmt sich am Boden. Babels Götter werden auf Tiere geladen. Eine Last seid ihr, eine aufgebürdete Last für das ermüdete Vieh.
2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to save those who bear them, they too go into captivity.	2 Die Tiere krümmen sich und brechen zusammen, sie können die Lasten nicht retten; sie müssen selbst mit in die Gefangenschaft ziehen.
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, all who remain of the house of Israel, My burden since your birth, whom I have carried from your infancy.	3 Hört auf mich, ihr vom Haus Jakob, und ihr alle, die vom Haus Israel noch übrig sind, die mir aufgebürdet sind vom Mutterleib an, die von mir getragen wurden, seit sie den Schoß ihrer Mutter verließen.
4 Even to your old age I am the same, even when your hair is gray I will bear you; It is I who have done this, I who will continue, and I who will carry you to safety.	4 Ich bleibe derselbe, so alt ihr auch werdet, bis ihr grau werdet, will ich euch tragen. Ich habe es getan und ich werde euch weiterhin tragen, ich werde euch schleppen und retten.
5 Whom would you compare me with, as an equal, or match me against, as though we were alike?	5 Mit wem wollt ihr mich vergleichen, neben wen mich stellen? An wem wollt ihr mich messen, um zu sehen, ob wir uns gleichen?
6 There are those who pour out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scales; Then they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god before which they fall down in worship.	6 Man schüttet Gold aus dem Beutel und wiegt Silber ab auf der Waage. Man bezahlt einen Goldschmied, damit er einen Gott daraus macht. Man kniet nieder und wirft sich sogar zu Boden.
7 They lift it to their shoulders to carry; when they set it in place again, it stays, and does not move from the spot. Although they cry out to it, it cannot answer; it delivers no one from distress.	7 Man trägt ihn auf der Schulter und schleppt ihn umher; dann stellt man ihn wieder auf seinen Platz und dort bleibt er stehen; er rührt sich nicht von der Stelle. Ruft man ihn an, so antwortet er nicht; wenn man in Not ist, kann er nicht helfen.
8 Remember this and be firm, bear it well in mind, you rebels; remember the former things, those long ago:	8 Denkt daran und achtet darauf, ihr Treulosen, nehmt es zu Herzen!
9 I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.	9 Denkt an das, was früher galt, in uralten Zeiten: Ich bin Gott und sonst niemand, ich bin Gott und niemand ist wie ich.
10 At the beginning I foretell the outcome; in advance, things not yet done. I say that my plan shall stand, I accomplish my every purpose.	10 Ich habe von Anfang an die Zukunft verkündet und lange vorher gesagt, was erst geschehen sollte.Ich sage: Mein Plan steht fest, und alles, was ich will, führe ich aus.
11 I call from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.	11 Ich habe aus dem Osten einen Adler gerufen, aus einem fernen Land rief ich den Mann, den ich brauchte für meinen Plan. Ich habe es gesagt und ich lasse es kommen. Ich habe es geplant und ich führe es aus.
12 Listen to me, you fainthearted, you who seem far from the victory of justice:	12 Hört auf mich, ihr Verzagten, denen das Heil noch fern ist.
13 I am bringing on my justice, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, and give to Israel my glory.	13 Ich selbst bringe euch das Heil, es ist nicht mehr fern; meine Hilfe verzögert sich nicht.Ich bringe Hilfe für Zion und verleihe Israel meine strahlende Pracht.
