Isaiah 46

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon beasts and cattle; They must be borne up on shoulders, carried as burdens by the weary.	1 ¡Bel se doblega, Nebo se desploma! Sus estatuas han sido puestas sobre bestias y animales de carga; los ídolos que ustedes llevaban en andas son una carga para el animal agotado.
2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to save those who bear them, they too go into captivity.	2 ¡Se desploman, se doblegan todos juntos, no pueden librar al que los lleva y ellos mismos van a la cautividad!
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, all who remain of the house of Israel, My burden since your birth, whom I have carried from your infancy.	3 ¡Escúchenme, casa de Jacob y todo el resto de la casa de Israel, ustedes, que fueron llevados desde el seno materno, cargados por mí desde antes de nacer!
4 Even to your old age I am the same, even when your hair is gray I will bear you; It is I who have done this, I who will continue, and I who will carry you to safety.	4 Hasta que envejezcan, yo seré siempre el mismo, y hasta que encanezcan, yo los sostendré. Yo he obrado, y me haré cargo de eso: los sostendré y los libraré.
5 Whom would you compare me with, as an equal, or match me against, as though we were alike?	5 ¿A quién me van a asemejar o igualar? ¿Con quién me van a comparar, que sea semejante a mí?
6 There are those who pour out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scales; Then they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god before which they fall down in worship.	6 Los que malgastan el oro de sus bolsas y pesan la plata en una balanza, contratan a un orfebre para que haga un dios, lo adoran y se postran ante él;
7 They lift it to their shoulders to carry; when they set it in place again, it stays, and does not move from the spot. Although they cry out to it, it cannot answer; it delivers no one from distress.	7 lo llevan sobre sus hombros, lo sostienen, lo ponen en su sitio, y allí se queda, sin poder moverse de su lugar: por más que se le grite, él no responde, ni puede salvar de su angustia.
8 Remember this and be firm, bear it well in mind, you rebels; remember the former things, those long ago:	8 ¡Recuerden esto, y compréndanlo bien; piénsenlo en su corazón, rebeldes!
9 I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.	9 Recuerden lo que sucedió antiguamente; porque yo soy Dios, y no hay otro, soy Dios, y no hay nadie igual a mí.
10 At the beginning I foretell the outcome; in advance, things not yet done. I say that my plan shall stand, I accomplish my every purpose.	10 Yo anuncio el final desde el comienzo, y desde mucho antes, lo que aún no ha sucedido; yo digo: «Mi designio se cumplirá y haré todo lo que me agrade».
11 I call from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.	11 Llamo del Oriente al ave de rapiña, y de un país lejano, al hombre de mi designio. Así hablé, y así haré que suceda. tracé un plan, y lo voy a ejecutar.
12 Listen to me, you fainthearted, you who seem far from the victory of justice:	12 Escúchenme, duros de corazón, ustedes, los que están lejos de la justicia:
13 I am bringing on my justice, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, and give to Israel my glory.	13 yo hago que se acerque mi justicia –¡ella no está lejos! – y mi salvación no tardará. Pondré la salvación en Sión y mi esplendor será para Israel.
