Isaiah 46

1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon beasts and cattle; They must be borne up on shoulders, carried as burdens by the weary.	1 Bel è prostrato, Nebo si è rovesciato; i loro idoli sono dati agli animali e ai giumenti; i loro carichi sono trasportati come peso spossante.
2 They stoop and bow down together; unable to save those who bear them, they too go into captivity.	2 Sono rovesciati, sono prostrati insieme, non possono salvare quelli che li portano, andando essi stessi in schiavitù.
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, all who remain of the house of Israel, My burden since your birth, whom I have carried from your infancy.	3 Ascoltatemi, casa di Giacobbe, e tutto il resto della casa d'Israele, voi, portati da me sin dalla nascita, di cui mi sono incaricato sin dal seno materno:
4 Even to your old age I am the same, even when your hair is gray I will bear you; It is I who have done this, I who will continue, and I who will carry you to safety.	4 "Fino alla vecchiaia io sarò lo stesso, fino alla canizie io vi porterò. Io l'ho fatto, io me ne caricherò ancora, io vi porterò e vi salverò.
5 Whom would you compare me with, as an equal, or match me against, as though we were alike?	5 A chi mi potete paragonare e assimilare, con chi mi potete confrontare, quasi fossimo simili?
6 There are those who pour out gold from a purse and weigh out silver on the scales; Then they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god before which they fall down in worship.	6 Traggono l'oro dalla borsa e pesano l'argento con la bilancia, pagano l'orafo, perché fabbrichi un dio, poi lo venerano e lo adorano.
7 They lift it to their shoulders to carry; when they set it in place again, it stays, and does not move from the spot. Although they cry out to it, it cannot answer; it delivers no one from distress.	7 Se lo caricano sulle spalle e lo portano, poi lo depongono sulla base e rimane diritto. Dal posto suo non si muove; lo si invoca, ma non risponde, non libera nessuno dalla tribolazione".
8 Remember this and be firm, bear it well in mind, you rebels; remember the former things, those long ago:	8 "Ricordate ciò e siate confusi, o prevaricatori, considerate nel vostro cuore!
9 I am God, there is no other; I am God, there is none like me.	9 Ricordate le cose passate da lungo tempo, poiché io sono Dio e non vi è altri; sono Dio e niente è come me!
10 At the beginning I foretell the outcome; in advance, things not yet done. I say that my plan shall stand, I accomplish my every purpose.	10 Dall'inizio ho annunciato l'avvenire, dall'antico ciò che non è ancora compiuto. Dico: il mio progetto permane, farò tutto ciò che mi piace.
11 I call from the east a bird of prey, from a distant land, one to carry out my plan. Yes, I have spoken, I will accomplish it; I have planned it, and I will do it.	11 Chiamo dall'oriente l'uccello rapace, da terra lontana l'uomo del mio progetto. Come ho parlato, così lo compirò; ho formato il progetto, lo attuerò.
12 Listen to me, you fainthearted, you who seem far from the victory of justice:	12 Ascoltatemi, ostinati di cuore, voi che siete lontani dalla giustizia!
13 I am bringing on my justice, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, and give to Israel my glory.	13 Faccio avvicinare la mia giustizia; non è lontana, la mia salvezza non tarderà. Porrò in Sion la salvezza, a Israele darò la mia gloria".
