1 False scales are an abomination to the LORD, but a full weight is his delight.	1 - La bilancia falsa è un'abominazione dinanzi al Signore e il peso giusto è di suo gradimento.
2 When pride comes, disgrace comes; but with the humble is wisdom.	2 Dove sarà la superbia ivi sarà il disprezzo, e dove è l'umiltà, ivi sta la sapienza.
3 The honesty of the upright guides them; the faithless are ruined by their duplicity.	3 La semplicità dei giusti sarà lor guida, e la fraudolenza dei perfidi li rovinerà.
4 Wealth is useless on the day of wrath, but virtue saves from death.	4 Le ricchezze a nulla giovano nel dì della vendetta, ma la giustizia libererà dalla morte.
5 The honest man's virtue makes his way straight, but by his wickedness the wicked man falls.	5 La giustizia del semplice gli appianerà la via, ma l'empio rovinerà nella sua empietà.
6 The virtue of the upright saves them, but the faithless are caught in their own intrigue.	6 La giustizia dei buoni li salverà, ma gli iniqui, nelle loro stesse insidie saran presi.
7 When a wicked man dies his hope perishes, and what is expected from strength comes to nought.	7 Morto l'empio, non vi sarà più speranza alcuna, e chi confida nelle proprie sollecitudini resterà deluso.
8 The just man escapes trouble, and the wicked man falls into it in his stead.	8 Il giusto dall'angustia è stato liberato, in sua vece sarà condotto l'empio.
9 With his mouth the impious man would ruin his neighbor, but through their knowledge the just make their escape.	9 Colla bocca l'ipocrita inganna il suo prossimo, ma i giusti dalla loro scienza saran liberati.
10 When the just prosper, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.	10 Nella prosperità dei giusti esulterà la città, e alla rovina dei tristi si farà plauso.
11 Through the blessing of the righteous the city is exalted, but through the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.	11 Per la benedizione dei giusti s'esalterà la città, ma per la bocca dei malvagi andrà in rovina.
12 He who reviles his neighbor has no sense, but the intelligent man keeps silent.	12 Chi disprezza il suo prossimo è uno scemo, ma il prudente tacerà.
13 A newsmonger reveals secrets, but a trustworthy man keeps a confidence.	13 Chi procede con frode, svela i segreti, ma chi è d'animo fidato cela le confidenze dell'amico.
14 For lack of guidance a people falls; security lies in many counselors.	14 Dove non c'è governo, il popolo andrà in rovina, ma dove abbondano i consigli ivi è salute.
15 He is in a bad way who becomes surety for another, but he who hates giving pledges is safe.	15 Chi dà cauzione per l'estraneo, incoglierà male, ma chi si guarda da impegni sarà sicuro.
16 A gracious woman wins esteem, but she who hates virtue is covered with shame. (The slothful become impoverished, but the diligent gain wealth.)	16 La donna graziosa troverà gloria, e i laboriosi otterranno ricchezze.
17 A kindly man benefits himself, but a merciless man harms himself.	17 L'uomo di carità la fa a se stesso, ma il crudele misconosce perfino i suoi parenti.
18 The wicked man makes empty profits, but he who sows virture has a sure reward.	18 L'empio fa un lavoro precario, ma chi semina giustizia, ha mercede sicura.
19 Virtue directs toward life, but he who pursues evil does so to his death.	19 La clemenza predispone alla vita e la frequenza del male alla morte.
20 The depraved in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those who walk blamelessly are his delight.	20 Il cuor doppio è in abominio al Signore e la sua compiacenza è in quelli che camminano con schiettezza.
21 Truly the evil man shall not go unpunished, but those who are just shall escape.	21 Dàgli oggi dàgli domani, il malvagio non andrà impunito, ma il seme dei giusti scamperà.
22 Like a golden ring in a swine's snout is a beautiful woman with a rebellious disposition.	22 Un monile d'oro al naso d'una troia è la bellezza in donna sciocca.
23 The desire of the just ends only in good; the expectation of the wicked is wrath.	23 Desio dei giusti - quanto c'è di meglio, aspettazione dei tristi - l'ira.
24 One man is lavish yet grows still richer; another is too sparing, yet is the poorer.	24 Altri fan parte del proprio e divengon più ricchi, altri si appropriano l'indebito e son sempre in miseria.
25 He who confers benefits will be amply enriched, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.	25 L'anima benefica sarà impinguata e chi mesce agli altri, altri rimesceranno a lui.
26 Him who monopolizes grain, the people curse-- but blessings upon the head of him who distributes it!	26 L'incettatore del grano sarà maledetto dalla gente, ma la benedizione sul capo di quei che lo vendono.
27 He who seeks the good commands favor, but he who pursues evil will have evil befall him.	27 Col buon giorno si alza il mattino chi cerca il bene, e chi va inventando dei mali vi cascherà sotto.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but like green leaves the just flourish.	28 Chi confida nelle sue ricchezze, cascherà, ma come verdi foglie germoglieranno i giusti.
29 He who upsets his household has empty air for a heritage; and the fool will become slave to the wise man.	29 Chi scompiglia la sua casa, possederà del vento, e chi è stolto servirà al saggio.
30 The fruit of virtue is a tree of life, but violence takes lives away.	30 Frutto del giusto è albero della vita, e chi si prende cura delle anime è sapiente.
31 If the just man is punished on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!	31 Se il giusto sulla terra riscote, quanto più l'empio e il peccatore?
