2 When pride comes, disgrace comes; but with the humble is wisdom.	2 Venuta la superbia, viene l’ignominia; Ma la sapienza è con gli umili
3 The honesty of the upright guides them; the faithless are ruined by their duplicity.	3 L’integrità degli uomini diritti li conduce; Ma la perversità de’ disleali di distrugge
4 Wealth is useless on the day of wrath, but virtue saves from death.	4 Le ricchezze non gioveranno al giorno dell’indegnazione; Ma la giustizia riscoterà da morte
5 The honest man's virtue makes his way straight, but by his wickedness the wicked man falls.	5 La giustizia dell’uomo intiero addirizza la via di esso; Ma l’empio caderà per la sua empietà.
6 The virtue of the upright saves them, but the faithless are caught in their own intrigue.	6 La giustizia degli uomini diritti li riscoterà; Ma i disleali saranno presi per la lor propria malizia
7 When a wicked man dies his hope perishes, and what is expected from strength comes to nought.	7 Quando l’uomo empio muore, la sua aspettazione perisce; E la speranza ch’egli aveva concepita delle sue forze è perduta
8 The just man escapes trouble, and the wicked man falls into it in his stead.	8 Il giusto è tratto fuor di distretta; Ma l’empio viene in luogo suo
9 With his mouth the impious man would ruin his neighbor, but through their knowledge the just make their escape.	9 L’ipocrito corrompe il suo prossimo con la sua bocca; Ma i giusti ne son liberati per conoscimento
10 When the just prosper, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.	10 La città festeggia del bene de’ giusti; Ma vi è giubilo quando gli empi periscono.
11 Through the blessing of the righteous the city is exalted, but through the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.	11 La città è innalzata per la benedizione degli uomini diritti; Ma è sovvertita per la bocca degli empi
12 He who reviles his neighbor has no sense, but the intelligent man keeps silent.	12 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo è privo di senno; Ma l’uomo prudente tace.
13 A newsmonger reveals secrets, but a trustworthy man keeps a confidence.	13 Colui che va sparlando palesa il segreto; Ma chi è leale di spirito cela la cosa
14 For lack of guidance a people falls; security lies in many counselors.	14 Il popolo cade in ruina dove non son consigli; Ma vi è salute in moltitudine di consiglieri
15 He is in a bad way who becomes surety for another, but he who hates giving pledges is safe.	15 L’uomo certamente sofferirà del male, se fa sicurtà per lo strano; Ma chi odia i mallevadori è sicuro
16 A gracious woman wins esteem, but she who hates virtue is covered with shame. (The slothful become impoverished, but the diligent gain wealth.)	16 La donna graziosa otterrà gloria, Come i possenti ottengono ricchezze

19 Virtue directs toward life, but he who pursues evil does so to his death.	19 Così è la giustizia a vita, Come chi procaccia il male lo procaccia alla sua morte
20 The depraved in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those who walk blamelessly are his delight.	20 I perversi di cuore sono un abbominio al Signore; Ma quelli che sono intieri di via son ciò che gli è grato
21 Truly the evil man shall not go unpunished, but those who are just shall escape.	21 Il malvagio d’ora in ora non resterà impunito; Ma la progenie de’ giusti scamperà
22 Like a golden ring in a swine's snout is a beautiful woman with a rebellious disposition.	22 Una donna bella, ma scema di senno, È un monile d’oro nel grifo d’un porco
23 The desire of the just ends only in good; the expectation of the wicked is wrath.	23 Il desiderio de’ giusti non è altro che bene; Ma la speranza degli empi è indegnazione
24 One man is lavish yet grows still richer; another is too sparing, yet is the poorer.	24 Vi è tale che spande, e pur vie più diventa ricco; E tale che risparmia oltre al diritto, e pur ne diventa sempre più povero
25 He who confers benefits will be amply enriched, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.	25 La persona liberale sarà ingrassata; E chi annaffia sarà anch’esso annaffiato
26 Him who monopolizes grain, the people curse-- but blessings upon the head of him who distributes it!	26 Il popolo maledirà chi serra il grano; Ma benedizione sarà sopra il capo di chi lo vende
27 He who seeks the good commands favor, but he who pursues evil will have evil befall him.	27 Chi cerca il bene procaccia benevolenza; Ma il male avverrà a chi lo cerca
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but like green leaves the just flourish.	28 Chi si confida nelle sue ricchezze caderà; Ma i giusti germoglieranno a guisa di frondi
29 He who upsets his household has empty air for a heritage; and the fool will become slave to the wise man.	29 Chi dissipa la sua casa possederà del vento; E lo stolto sarà servo a chi è savio di cuore
30 The fruit of virtue is a tree of life, but violence takes lives away.	30 Il frutto del giusto è un albero di vita; E il savio prende le anime
31 If the just man is punished on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!	31 Ecco, il giusto riceve la sua retribuzione in terra; Quanto più la riceverà l’empio e il peccatore?
