2 How lovely your dwelling, O LORD of hosts!	2 Wie lieblich ist deine Wohnstatt (43,3),HERR der Heerscharen!
3 My soul yearns and pines for the courts of the LORD. My heart and flesh cry out for the living God.	3 Meine Seele hat sich gesehnt, ja geschmachtetnach den Vorhöfen des HERRN;nun jubeln mein Herz und mein Leibdem lebendigen Gott entgegen!
4 As the sparrow finds a home and the swallow a nest to settle her young, My home is by your altars, LORD of hosts, my king and my God!	4 Hat doch auch der Sperling ein Haus gefundenund die Schwalbe ein Nest für sich, woselbst sie ihre Jungen birgt:deine Altäre, o HERR der Heerscharen,mein König und mein Gott.
5 Happy are those who dwell in your house! They never cease to praise you. Selah	5 Wohl denen, die da wohnen in deinem Haus,dich allzeit preisen! SELA.
6 Happy are those who find refuge in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrim roads.	6 Wohl allen, die in dir ihre Stärke finden,wenn auf Pilgerfahrten sie sinnen!
7 As they pass through the Baca valley, they find spring water to drink. Also from pools the Lord provides water for those who lose their way.	7 Wenn sie wandern durchs Bakatal,machen sie’s zum Quellengrund,den auch der Frühregen kleidet in reichen Segen.
8 They pass through outer and inner wall and see the God of gods on Zion.	8 Sie wandern dahin mit stets erneuter Kraft,bis vor Gott sie erscheinen in Zion.
9 LORD of hosts, hear my prayer; listen, God of Jacob. Selah	9 O HERR, Gott der Heerscharen, höre mein Gebet,vernimm es, Gott Jakobs! SELA.
10 O God, look kindly on our shield; look upon the face of your anointed.	10 Du unser Schild, blick her, o Gott,und schau auf das Antlitz deines Gesalbten (d.h. des Königs)!
11 Better one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. Better the threshold of the house of my God than a home in the tents of the wicked.	11 Denn ein einziger Tag in deinen Vorhöfenist besser als tausend andere;lieber will ich stehn an der Schwelle im Hause meines Gottes,als wohnen in den Zelten der Frevler (= der Gottlosen).
12 For a sun and shield is the LORD God, bestowing all grace and glory. The LORD withholds no good thing from those who walk without reproach.	12 Denn Sonne (oder: Mauerzinne) und Schild ist Gott der HERR;Gnade und Ehre verleiht der HERR,nichts Gutes versagt er denen, die unsträflich wandeln.
13 O LORD of hosts, happy are those who trust in you!	13 O HERR der Heerscharen,wohl dem Menschen, der dir vertraut!
