Psalms 82

1 A psalm of Asaph. God rises in the divine council, gives judgment in the midst of the gods.	1 Salmo de Asaf. Levanta-se Deus na assembléia divina, entre os deuses profere o seu julgamento.
2 "How long will you judge unjustly and favor the cause of the wicked? Selah	2 Até quando julgareis iniquamente, favorecendo a causa dos ímpios?
3 Defend the lowly and fatherless; render justice to the afflicted and needy.	3 Defendei o oprimido e o órfão, fazei justiça ao humilde e ao pobre,
4 Rescue the lowly and poor; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."	4 livrai o oprimido e o necessitado, tirai-o das garras dos ímpios.
5 The gods neither know nor understand, wandering about in darkness, and all the world's foundations shake.	5 Eles não querem saber nem compreender, andam nas trevas, vacilam os fundamentos da terra.
6 I declare: "Gods though you be, offspring of the Most High all of you,	6 Eu disse: Sois deuses, sois todos filhos do Altíssimo.
7 Yet like any mortal you shall die; like any prince you shall fall."	7 Contudo, morrereis como simples homens e, como qualquer príncipe, caireis.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth, for yours are all the nations.	8 Levantai-vos, Senhor, para julgar a terra, porque são vossas todas as nações.
