Psalms 82

1 A psalm of Asaph. God rises in the divine council, gives judgment in the midst of the gods.	1 Ászáf zsoltára. Áll az Isten az istenek gyülekezetében, s ítélkezik az isteneken:
2 "How long will you judge unjustly and favor the cause of the wicked? Selah	2 »Meddig ítéltek még hamisan, és meddig vagytok tekintettel a gonoszok személyére?
3 Defend the lowly and fatherless; render justice to the afflicted and needy.	3 Szolgáltassatok igazságot a szűkölködőnek s az árvának, juttassátok jogához a nyomorultat és a szegényt!
4 Rescue the lowly and poor; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."	4 Szabadítsátok meg a szegényt és a szűkölködőt mentsétek ki a gonoszok kezéből!«
5 The gods neither know nor understand, wandering about in darkness, and all the world's foundations shake.	5 De ők sem nem tudnak, sem nem értenek, sötétben járnak; Mind meginognak ezért a föld alapjai.
6 I declare: "Gods though you be, offspring of the Most High all of you,	6 Én azt mondtam: »Ti istenek vagytok, mindnyájan a Fölséges fiai.«
7 Yet like any mortal you shall die; like any prince you shall fall."	7 De meghaltok, mint más ember, elhullotok, mint akármelyik főember.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth, for yours are all the nations.	8 Kelj fel, Isten! Ítéld meg a földet, mert a te örökséged minden nemzet.
