Psalms 82

1 A psalm of Asaph. God rises in the divine council, gives judgment in the midst of the gods.	1 Salmo. Di Asaf.Dio presiede l’assemblea divina,giudica in mezzo agli dèi:
2 "How long will you judge unjustly and favor the cause of the wicked? Selah	2 «Fino a quando emetterete sentenze ingiustee sosterrete la parte dei malvagi?
3 Defend the lowly and fatherless; render justice to the afflicted and needy.	3 Difendete il debole e l’orfano,al povero e al misero fate giustizia!
4 Rescue the lowly and poor; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."	4 Salvate il debole e l’indigente,liberatelo dalla mano dei malvagi!».
5 The gods neither know nor understand, wandering about in darkness, and all the world's foundations shake.	5 Non capiscono, non vogliono intendere,camminano nelle tenebre;vacillano tutte le fondamenta della terra.
6 I declare: "Gods though you be, offspring of the Most High all of you,	6 Io ho detto: «Voi siete dèi,siete tutti figli dell’Altissimo,
7 Yet like any mortal you shall die; like any prince you shall fall."	7 ma certo morirete come ogni uomo,cadrete come tutti i potenti».
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth, for yours are all the nations.	8 Àlzati, o Dio, a giudicare la terra,perché a te appartengono tutte le genti!
