1 For the leader. A psalm of David.	1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.
2 I waited, waited for the LORD; who bent down and heard my cry,	2 Ho sperato, ho sperato nel Signore,ed egli su di me si è chinato,ha dato ascolto al mio grido.
3 Drew me out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud of the swamp, Set my feet upon rock, steadied my steps,	3 Mi ha tratto da un pozzo di acque tumultuose,dal fango della palude;ha stabilito i miei piedi sulla roccia,ha reso sicuri i miei passi.
4 And put a new song in my mouth, a hymn to our God. Many shall look on in awe and they shall trust in the LORD.	4 Mi ha messo sulla bocca un canto nuovo,una lode al nostro Dio.Molti vedranno e avranno timoree confideranno nel Signore.
5 Happy those whose trust is the LORD, who turn not to idolatry or to those who stray after falsehood.	5 Beato l’uomo che ha posto la sua fiducia nel Signoree non si volge verso chi segue gli idoliné verso chi segue la menzogna.
6 How numerous, O LORD, my God, you have made your wondrous deeds! And in your plans for us there is none to equal you. Should I wish to declare or tell them, too many are they to recount.	6 Quante meraviglie hai fatto,tu, Signore, mio Dio,quanti progetti in nostro favore:nessuno a te si può paragonare!Se li voglio annunciare e proclamare,sono troppi per essere contati.
7 sacrifice and offering you do not want; but ears open to obedience you gave me. Holocausts and sin-offerings you do not require;	7 Sacrificio e offerta non gradisci,gli orecchi mi hai aperto,non hai chiesto olocausto né sacrificio per il peccato.
8 so I said, "Here I am; your commands for me are written in the scroll.	8 Allora ho detto: «Ecco, io vengo.Nel rotolo del libro su di me è scritto
9 To do your will is my delight; my God, your law is in my heart!"	9 di fare la tua volontà:mio Dio, questo io desidero;la tua legge è nel mio intimo».
10 I announced your deed to a great assembly; I did not restrain my lips; you, LORD, are my witness.	10 Ho annunciato la tua giustizia nella grande assemblea;vedi: non tengo chiuse le labbra, Signore, tu lo sai.
11 Your deed I did not hide within my heart; your loyal deliverance I have proclaimed. I made no secret of your enduring kindness to a great assembly.	11 Non ho nascosto la tua giustizia dentro il mio cuore,la tua verità e la tua salvezza ho proclamato.Non ho celato il tuo amoree la tua fedeltà alla grande assemblea.
12 LORD, do not withhold your compassion from me; may your enduring kindness ever preserve me.	12 Non rifiutarmi, Signore, la tua misericordia;il tuo amore e la tua fedeltà mi proteggano sempre,
13 For all about me are evils beyond count; my sins so overcome me I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head; my courage fails me.	13 perché mi circondano mali senza numero,le mie colpe mi opprimono e non riesco più a vedere:sono più dei capelli del mio capo,il mio cuore viene meno.
14 LORD, graciously rescue me! Come quickly to help me, LORD!	14 Dégnati, Signore, di liberarmi;Signore, vieni presto in mio aiuto.
15 Put to shame and confound all who seek to take my life. Turn back in disgrace those who desire my ruin.	15 Siano svergognati e confusiquanti cercano di togliermi la vita.Retrocedano, coperti d’infamia,quanti godono della mia rovina.
16 Let those who say "Aha!" know dismay and shame.	16 Se ne tornino indietro pieni di vergognaquelli che mi dicono: «Ti sta bene!».
17 But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. May those who long for your help always say, "The LORD be glorified."	17 Esultino e gioiscano in tequelli che ti cercano;dicano sempre: «Il Signore è grande!»quelli che amano la tua salvezza.
18 Though I am afflicted and poor, the Lord keeps me in mind. You are my help and deliverer; my God, do not delay!	18 Ma io sono povero e bisognoso:di me ha cura il Signore.Tu sei mio aiuto e mio liberatore:mio Dio, non tardare.
