1 Salmo di Davidde: quando andò a trovarlo il profeta Nathan, allorché egli si accostò a Bethsabea. Abbi misericordia di me, o Dio, secondo la grande tua misericordia.	1 A psalm of Asaph. The LORD, the God of gods, has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 E secondo le molte operazioni di tua misericordia scancella la mia iniquità.	2 From Zion God shines forth. perfect in beauty.
3 Lavami ancor più dalla mia iniquità, e mondami dal mio peccato;	3 Our God comes and will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes, storming fiercely round about.
4 (Perocché io conosco la mia iniquità, e il mio peccato mi sta sempre davanti;	4 God summons the heavens above and the earth to the judgment of his people:
5 Contro di te solo peccai, e il male feci dinanzi a te): affinchè tu si giustificato nelle tue parole, e riporti vittoria quando se' chiamato in giudizio.	5 "Gather my faithful ones before me, those who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."
6 Imperocché ecco, che io nelle iniquità fui conceputo, e ne' peccati mi concepì la mia madre.	6 The heavens proclaim divine justice, for God alone is the judge. Selah
7 Ed ecco, che tu hai amato la verità, tu svelasti a me gli ignoti, e occulti misteri di tua sapienza.	7 "Listen, my people, I will speak; Israel, I will testify against you; God, your God, am I.
8 Tu mi aspergerai coll'issopo, e sarò mondato: mi laverai, e diverrò bianco più, che la neve.	8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, nor for your holocausts, set before me daily.
9 Mi farai sentir parola di letizia, di gaudio, e le ossa umiliate tripudieranno.	9 I need no bullock from your house, no goats from your fold.
10 Rivolgi la tua faccia da' miei peccati, e cancella tutte le mie iniquità.	10 For every animal of the forest is mine, beasts by the thousands on my mountains.
11 In me crea, o Dio, un cuor mondo, e lo spirito rettò rinnovella nelle mie viscere.	11 I know every bird of the heavens; the creatures of the field belong to me.
12 Non rigettarmi dalla tua faccia, o non togliere da me il tuo santo Spirito,	12 Were I hungry, I would not tell you, for mine is the world and all that fills it.
13 Rendimi la letizia del tuo Salvatore, e per mezzo del benefico Spirito tu mi conforta.	13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Insegnerò le tue vie agli iniqui, o gli empj a te si convertiranno.	14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High.
15 Liberami dal reato del sangue, o Dio, Dio di mia salute, e la mia lingua, canterà con gaudio la tua giustizia.	15 Then call on me in time of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor me."
16 Signore, tu aprirai le mie labbra, la mia bocca annunzierà le tue lodi.	16 But to the wicked God says: "Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your lips?
17 Imperocché se un sagrifizio tu avessi voluto, lo avrei offerto: tu non ti compiacerai degli olocausti.	17 You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!
18 Sagrifizio a Dio lo spirito addolorato: il cuore contrito, e umiliato noi disprezzerai tu, o Dio.	18 When you see thieves, you befriend them; with adulterers you throw in your lot.
19 Colla buona volontà tua sii benefico, o Signore, verso Sionne, affinchè stabilite siano le mura di Gerusalemme.	19 You give your mouth free rein for evil; you harness your tongue to deceit.
20 Tu accetterai allora il sagrifizio di giustizia, le obblazioni, e gli olocausti: allora porranno de' vitelli sul tuo altare.	20 You sit maligning your own kin, slandering the child of your own mother.
	21 When you do these things should I be silent? Or do you think that I am like you? I accuse you, I lay the charge before you.
	22 "Understand this, you who forget God, lest I attack you with no one to rescue.
	23 Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me; to the obedient I will show the salvation of God."
