Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.	1 Gyermekek, engedelmeskedjetek szüleiteknek az Úrban, mert így van az rendjén.
2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)	2 »Tiszteld apádat és anyádat« ; ez az első, ígérettel egybekötött parancs:
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.	3 »hogy jó dolgod legyen, és hosszú életű légy a földön« .
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.	4 És ti apák, ne ingereljétek haragra gyermekeiteket, hanem neveljétek őket fegyelemben és az Úr intelmével!
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;	5 Szolgák, engedelmeskedjetek test szerinti uraitoknak félelemmel és remegéssel szívetek egyszerűségében, akárcsak Krisztusnak!
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;	6 Ne látszatra szolgáljatok, mintha emberek tetszését keresnétek, hanem mint Krisztus szolgái, akik szívesen teljesítik Isten akaratát!
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:	7 Készséges akarattal szolgáljatok, mintha az Úrnak tennétek, s nem embereknek!
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.	8 Tudjátok, hogy mindenki, aki valami jót tesz, annak jutalmát megkapja majd az Úrtól, akár szolga, akár szabad.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.	9 Ti pedig, gazdák, ugyanezt tegyétek velük, hagyjátok a fenyegetőzést, hiszen tudjátok, hogy nekik is, nektek is Uratok van az égben, s nála nincs személyválogatás.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.	10 Végezetül pedig: erősödjetek meg az Úrban és az ő hathatós erejében!
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.	11 Öltsétek fel Isten fegyverzetét, hogy megállhassatok az ördög cselvetéseivel szemben!
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.	12 Mert nem a vér és a test ellen kell küzdenünk, hanem a fejedelemségek ellen, a hatalmasságok ellen, a sötétség világának kormányzói ellen, a gonoszságnak az ég magasságaiban lévő szellemei ellen.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.	13 Vegyétek fel tehát Isten fegyverzetét, hogy ellenállhassatok a gonosz napon, s megállhassatok, mert mindent megtettetek.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;	14 Úgy álljatok tehát, hogy derekatokat övezzétek fel igazságossággal, s öltsétek magatokra a megigazulás vértjét!
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;	15 Lábatok saruja legyen a béke evangéliumának hirdetésére való készség.
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.	16 Mindezekhez vegyétek a hit pajzsát, amellyel kiolthatjátok a gonosz minden tüzes nyilát.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:	17 Vegyétek fel az üdvösség sisakját is, és a Lélek kardját, vagyis az Isten igéjét.
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;	18 Mindenkor esedezzetek a Lélekben, minden imádságban és könyörgésben, s őbenne virrasszatok teljes állhatatossággal könyörögve az összes szentért,
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,	19 és értem is, hogy Isten adjon nekem szavakat, amikor megnyitom ajkamat, hogy bátran hirdessem az evangélium titkát,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.	20 aminek hírnöke vagyok a bilincsekben is; hadd beszéljek bátran, amint kötelességem.
21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:	21 Hogy pedig ti is megtudjátok, mi van velem, mit művelek, Tichikusz, a szeretett testvér és hűséges szolga az Úrban, mindent el fog nektek mondani.
22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.	22 Éppen azért küldtem őt hozzátok, hogy megtudjátok, mi van velünk, s megvigasztalja szíveteket.
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	23 Békesség a testvéreknek, és hittel párosult szeretet az Atyaistentől és az Úr Jézus Krisztustól!
24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.	24 Kegyelem mindazoknak, akik meg nem fogyatkozó szeretettel szeretik a mi Urunkat, Jézus Krisztust!
