1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.	1 Dopo questi fatti il Signore designò ancora altri settantadue discepoli e li inviò a due a due innanzi a sé, in ogni città e luogo che egli stava per visitare.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.	2 Diceva loro: "La messe è molta, ma gli operai sono pochi. Pregate perciò il padrone del campo perché mandi operai nella sua messe.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.	3 Andate! Ecco, io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo ai lupi.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.	4 Non portate né borsa né sacco né sandali. Lungo il cammino non salutate nessuno.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.	5 Quando entrerete in una casa, dite per prima cosa: "Pace a questa casa".
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.	6 Se vi è qualcuno che ama la pace, riceverà la pace che gli avete augurato, altrimenti il vostro augurio resterà inefficace.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.	7 Restate in quella casa, mangiate e bevete quello che vi daranno, perché l'operaio ha diritto alla sua ricompensa. Non passate di casa in casa.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:	8 Quando andrete in una città, se qualcuno vi accoglierà, mangiate quello che vi offre.
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.	9 Guarite i malati che trovate e dite loro: "Il regno di Dio è vicino".
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,	10 Se invece entrerete in una città e nessuno vi accoglierà, uscite sulle piazze e dite:
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.	11 "Noi scuotiamo contro di voi anche la polvere della vostra città che si è attaccata ai nostri piedi. Sappiate però che il regno di Dio è vicino".
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.	12 Io vi assicuro che nel giorno del giudizio gli abitanti di Sodoma saranno trattati meno duramente degli abitanti di quella città.
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.	13 Guai a te, Corazin! Guai a te, Betsàida! Perché se i miracoli compiuti tra voi fossero stati fatti a Tiro e a Sidone, già da tempo i loro abitanti si sarebbero convertiti vestendo il sacco e coprendosi di cenere.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.	14 Perciò nel giorno del giudizio gli abitanti di Tiro e di Sidone saranno trattati meno duramente di voi.
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.	15 E tu, Cafarnao, sarai forse innalzata fino al cielo? No, tu precipiterai nell'abisso!
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.	16 Chi ascolta voi ascolta me. Chi disprezza voi disprezza me. E chi disprezza me disprezza colui che mi ha mandato".
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.	17 I settantadue discepoli tornarono pieni di gioia, dicendo: "Signore, anche i demòni ci obbediscono, quando invochiamo il tuo nome".
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.	18 Egli disse loro: "Io vedevo Satana precipitare dal cielo come un fulmine.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.	19 Io vi ho dato il potere di calpestare serpenti e scorpioni e di annientare ogni potenza del nemico. Nulla vi potrà fare del male.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.	20 Non rallegratevi però perché i demòni si sottomettono a voi, ma piuttosto perché i vostri nomi sono scritti nei cieli".
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.	21 In quella stessa ora Gesù trasalì di gioia nello Spirito Santo e disse: "Ti ringrazio, o Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, perché hai nascosto queste cose ai sapienti e agl'intelligenti e le hai rivelate ai piccoli. Sì, Padre, perché così è piaciuto a te.
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.	22 Tutto mi è stato donato dal Padre mio e nessuno conosce chi è il Figlio se non il Padre, né chi è il Padre se non il Figlio e colui al quale il Figlio lo voglia rivelare".
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:	23 Poi si voltò verso i discepoli, li prese a parte e disse: "Beati gli occhi che vedono tutte queste cose.
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.	24 Vi dico infatti che molti profeti e re hanno desiderato vedere quello che voi vedete, ma non l'hanno visto, udire quello che voi udite, ma non l'hanno udito".
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?	25 Un dottore della legge, volendo metterlo alla prova, si alzò e disse: "Maestro, che cosa devo fare per avere la vita eterna?".
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?	26 Gesù rispose: "Che cosa sta scritto nella legge? Che cosa vi leggi?".
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.	27 Quell'uomo disse: "Ama il Signore, Dio tuo, con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima, con tutte le tue forze e con tutta la tua mente, e ama il prossimo come te stesso".
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.	28 Gesù gli disse: "Hai risposto bene; fa' questo e vivrai".
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?	29 Ma il dottore della legge, volendo giustificarsi, disse ancora a Gesù: "Ma chi è il mio prossimo?".
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.	30 Gesù rispose: "Un uomo scendeva da Gerusalemme verso Gerico, quando incappò nei briganti. Questi gli portarono via tutto, lo percossero e poi se ne andarono lasciandolo mezzo morto.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.	31 Per caso passò di là un sacerdote, vide l'uomo ferito e passò oltre, dall'altra parte della strada.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.	32 Anche un levita passò per quel luogo; anch'egli lo vide e, scansandolo, proseguì.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,	33 Invece un samaritano che era in viaggio gli passò accanto, lo vide e ne ebbe compassione.
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.	34 Gli si accostò, versò olio e vino sulle sue ferite e gliele fasciò. Poi lo caricò sul suo asino, lo portò a una locanda e fece tutto il possibile per aiutarlo.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.	35 Il giorno seguente, tirò fuori due monete, le diede all'albergatore e gli disse: "Abbi cura di lui e ciò che spenderai in più lo pagherò al mio ritorno".
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?	36 Quale di questi tre ti sembra sia stato il prossimo di colui che aveva incontrato i briganti?".
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.	37 Il dottore della legge rispose: "Quello che ebbe compassione di lui". Gesù allora gli disse: "Va' e anche tu fa' lo stesso".
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.	38 Mentr'essi erano in cammino, Gesù entrò in un villaggio, e una donna, che si chiamava Marta, lo accolse in casa sua.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.	39 Sua sorella, di nome Maria, si sedette ai piedi del Signore e stava ad ascoltare la sua parola.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.	40 Marta invece era assorbita per il grande servizio. Perciò si fece avanti e disse: "Signore, non vedi che mia sorella mi ha lasciata sola a servire? Dille dunque di aiutarmi".
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:	41 Ma Gesù le rispose: "Marta, Marta, tu ti affanni e ti preoccupi di troppe cose.
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.	42 Invece una sola è la cosa necessaria. Maria ha scelto la parte migliore, che nessuno le toglierà".
