1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.	1 Après cela, le Seigneur en choisit 72 autres. Il les envoya deux par deux en avant de lui vers toutes les villes et tous les endroits où lui-même pensait aller.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.	2 Il leur disait: "La moisson est abondante et les ouvriers sont peu nombreux! Priez donc le Seigneur de la moisson pour qu’il envoie des ouvriers à sa moisson!
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.	3 “Allez! Je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu des loups.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.	4 Vous n’emporterez ni bourse, ni sac, ni chaussures, et sur le chemin vous n’irez pas saluer qui que ce soit.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.	5 Lorsque vous entrerez dans une maison vous commencerez par dire: Paix à cette maison!
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.	6 Si la paix trouve là un de ses fils, elle reposera sur lui, sinon elle reviendra sur vous.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.	7 “Le temps que vous restez dans cette maison, acceptez ce qu’ils ont à boire et à manger, car l’ouvrier mérite son salaire. Mais ne passez pas de maison en maison.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:	8 “Dans les villes où vous entrez et où l’on vous reçoit, mangez ce qu’on vous sert.
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.	9 Guérissez leurs malades et dites-leur: ‘Le Royaume de Dieu est maintenant tout proche de vous!’
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,	10 “Mais si vous êtes entrés dans une ville où l’on ne vous reçoit pas, vous irez dire sur les places:
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.	11 ‘Même la poussière de votre ville qui s’est collée à nos pieds, nous vous la laissons! Vous saurez quand même que le Royaume de Dieu est tout proche!’
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.	12 Je vous le dis: au jour du jugement Sodome s’en tirera à meilleur compte que cette ville-là!
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.	13 “Malheur à toi, Korazin! Malheur à toi Bethsaïde! Car si l’on avait eu dans Tyr et dans Sidon les miracles qui ont eu lieu chez vous, depuis longtemps elles auraient fait pénitence avec le sac, assises sur la cendre.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.	14 Tyr et Sidon s’en tireront sûrement à meilleur compte que vous au jour du jugement!
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.	15 Et toi, Capharnaüm, vas-tu t’élever jusqu’au ciel? Non, tu descendras jusque chez les morts!
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.	16 “Celui qui vous écoute, c’est moi qu’il écoute; celui qui vous rejette, c’est moi qu’il rejette, et celui qui me rejette, rejette celui qui m’a envoyé!”
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.	17 Les 72 revinrent tout joyeux: "Seigneur, disaient-ils, on prononçait ton nom, et même les démons nous étaient soumis!”
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.	18 Jésus leur dit: "Je voyais Satan descendre du ciel en flèche, comme un éclair!
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.	19 Voyez, je vous ai donné autorité pour piétiner serpents et scorpions, et toute la puissance de l’ennemi: aucune arme ne vous atteindra.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.	20 Mais s’il faut vous réjouir, ce n’est pas parce que les esprits vous sont soumis; réjouissez-vous de ce que vos noms sont inscrits dans les cieux.”
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.	21 À cette heure même Jésus fut pris tout entier par la joie de l’Esprit Saint. Il éleva la voix et dit: "Je proclamerai tes grandeurs, Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, car tu as caché ces choses aux sages comme aux intelligents et tu les as révélées à des tout-petits. Oui Père, c’est cela qui t’a paru bon!
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.	22 “Tout m’a été remis par mon Père et personne ne sait qui est le Fils, si ce n’est le Père; ni le Père, si ce n’est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler.”
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:	23 Jésus se tourna vers les disciples, à un moment où ils étaient seuls, et il leur dit: "Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vous voyez.
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.	24 Oui, je vous le dis: beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont voulu voir ce que vous voyez et ne l’ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l’ont pas entendu!”
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?	25 Un maître de la Loi se leva et lui dit pour l’embarrasser: "Maître, que dois-je faire pour recevoir la vie éternelle?”
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?	26 Jésus lui dit: "Que dit l’Écriture, que vois-tu dans la Loi?”
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.	27 L’homme répondit: “Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force, de toute ton intelligence, et ton prochain comme toi-même.”
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.	28 Jésus lui dit: "Ta réponse est exacte. Fais cela et tu vivras.”
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?	29 Mais lui voulut s’expliquer, il dit à Jésus: "Et qui est mon prochain?”
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.	30 Jésus alors se mit à raconter: "Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho. Il tomba au milieu de bandits qui lui enlevèrent jusqu’à ses vêtements. Ils s’enfuirent le laissant couvert de plaies et à demi mort.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.	31 “Un prêtre par hasard descendait ce même chemin; il vit l’homme et passa de l’autre côté.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.	32 Un Lévite venait par la même route; arrivé à cet endroit, lui aussi vit l’homme; il changea de côté et passa.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,	33 “Mais voici qu’un Samaritain fait le même trajet, et quand il se trouve face au blessé, il a vraiment pitié de lui.
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.	34 Il s’approche et bande ses blessures en y mettant de l’huile et du vin. Puis il l’installe sur sa propre bête et le conduit jusqu’à une auberge où il prend soin de lui.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.	35 Le lendemain il sort deux pièces d’argent et les donne à l’hôtelier en lui disant: Fais pour lui le nécessaire; si tu dépenses davantage, je te le rembourserai au retour.”
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?	36 Jésus alors demanda: "À ton avis, lequel des trois s’est fait le prochain de l’homme qui a été victime des bandits?”
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.	37 L’autre répondit: "Celui qui a eu pitié de lui.” Et Jésus lui dit: "Va, et fais pareil.”
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.	38 En cours de route, Jésus entra dans un village et une femme nommée Marthe le reçut chez elle.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.	39 Elle avait une sœur, du nom de Marie, qui s’était assise aux pieds du Seigneur et restait à écouter sa parole.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.	40 Marthe, pendant ce temps, était absorbée par tout le service. À la fin elle se tourne vers Jésus et lui dit: "Seigneur, ne vois-tu pas que ma sœur me laisse seule avec le service? Dis-lui donc de m’aider!”
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:	41 Mais le Seigneur lui répond: "Marthe, Marthe, tu t’inquiètes et tu t’agites pour tant de choses!
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.	42 Une seule est nécessaire. Marie a choisi la meilleure part, elle ne lui sera pas retirée.”
