1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.	1 - Dopo queste cose il Signore scelse altri settantadue e li mandò a due a due dinanzi a sè, in ogni città e luogo dove egli doveva andare.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.	2 E disse loro: «La mèsse è molta, ma gli operai son pochi; pregate dunque il padrone della mèsse che mandi operai alla sua mèsse.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.	3 Andate: ecco io vi mando come agnelli tra i lupi.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.	4 Non portate sacco, nè bisaccia, nè calzari e non salutate nessuno per via.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.	5 In qualunque casa entrerete, dite prima: - Pace a questa casa! -
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.	6 Che se vi sarà un figlio di pace, la vostra pace riposerà su di lui; altrimenti, essa ritornerà a voi.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.	7 Restate nella medesima casa, mangiando e bevendo quel che vi daranno; perchè l'operaio è degno della sua mercede. Non passate di casa in casa.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:	8 In qualunque città entrerete se vi ricevono, mangiate ciò che vi sarà messo innanzi.
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.	9 Guarite gl'infermi che ci saranno in essa e dite loro: - Il regno di Dio s'avvicina a voi. -
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,	10 Ma in qualunque città entrerete se non vi ricevono uscendo sulle piazze dite:
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.	11 - Abbiamo scosso contro di voi perfin la polvere che dalla vostra città si era attaccata ai nostri piedi; sappiate tuttavia che il regno di Dio s'avvicina. -
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.	12 Vi dico che nel gran giorno Sodoma sarà trattata men duramente di quella città.
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.	13 Guai a te, Corozain! Guai a te, Betsaida! Perchè se in Tiro e Sidone fossero stati fatti i prodigi che furono operati tra voi, già da lungo tempo prostrati in cenere e cilicio, avrebbero fatto penitenza.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.	14 Nel giorno del giudizio quindi, Tiro e Sidone saranno trattate men rigorosamente di voi.
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.	15 E tu, Cafarnao, che ti esalti fino al cielo, sarai sprofondata sino all'Inferno.
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.	16 Chi ascolta voi, ascolta me, e chi disprezza voi, disprezza me; e chi disprezza me, disprezza Colui che mi ha mandato».
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.	17 I settantadue tornarono pieni di gioia, dicendo: «Signore, anche i demoni sono sottomessi a noi in virtù del tuo nome».
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.	18 Ed egli rispose loro: «Io contemplavo Satana cader dal cielo a guisa di folgore.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.	19 Ecco, io vi ho dato il potere di calcare serpenti e scorpioni, e di superare tutta la potenza del nemico, e nulla potrà farvi del male.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.	20 Pure non vi rallegrate perchè vi stanno soggetti gli spiriti; ma rallegratevi piuttosto perchè i vostri nomi sono scritti nel cielo».
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.	21 In quella stessa ora esultò lo Spirito Santo e disse: «Io ti rendo gloria, o Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, perchè hai nascoste queste cose ai savi ed ai prudenti e le hai rivelate ai pargoli. Sì, o Padre, perchè così ti è piaciuto.
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.	22 Tutte le cose mi sono state affidate dal Padre mio; e nessuno conosce chi sia il Figliuolo, all'infuori del Padre; nè chi sia il Padre all'infuori del Figliuolo e colui al quale il Figliuolo avrà voluto rivelarlo».
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:	23 Rivolto poi a' suoi discepoli, soggiunse: «Beati gli occhi che vedono le cose che vedete voi.
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.	24 Poichè vi dico, molti profeti e re desiderarono vedere quello che voi vedete, e non lo hanno veduto, ed ascoltare quello che voi udite, e non lo hanno udito».
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?	25 Ed ecco alzarsi un dottore della legge e dirgli, per metterlo alla prova: «Maestro, che cosa devo fare per ottenere la vita eterna?».
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?	26 Gesù gli rispose: «Cosa sta scritto nella legge? Cosa vi leggi?».
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.	27 L'altro replicò: «Ama il Signore Dio tuo, con tutto il cuore, con tutta l'anima, con tutte le forze e con tutta l'intelligenza, e il tuo prossimo come te stesso».
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.	28 Gesù gli rispose: «Hai risposto benissimo; fa' questo e vivrai».
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?	29 Ma costui, volendo giustificarsi domandò a Gesù: «E chi è il mio prossimo?».
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.	30 Gesù prese a dire: «Un uomo scendeva da Gerusalemme a Gerico e s'imbattè in ladroni, i quali, spogliatolo e feritolo se ne andarono, lasciandolo mezzo morto.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.	31 Ora a caso scendeva per la stessa strada un sacerdote; vide quell'uomo e passò oltre.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.	32 Così pure un Levita, giunto nelle vicinanze guardò e tirò innanzi.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,	33 Ma un Samaritano, che era in viaggio, giunto vicino a lui e, vistolo, s'impietosì:
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.	34 gli si accostò, ne fasciò le piaghe, versandovi sopra olio e vino; e, collocatolo sulla propria cavalcatura, lo condusse all'albergo e si prese cura di lui.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.	35 Il giorno dopo, tratti fuori due danari li diede all'oste e gli disse: - Prenditi cura di lui, e quanto spenderai di più te lo pagherò al mio ritorno. -
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?	36 Chi di questi tre ti pare sia stato prossimo, per colui che s'imbattè nei ladroni?».
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.	37 Quegli rispose: «Colui che gli usò misericordia». E Gesù gli soggiunse: «Va', e fa' tu pure lo stesso».
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.	38 Mentre essi erano in cammino, [Gesù] entrò in un villaggio e una donna di nome Marta lo ricevette nella sua casa.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.	39 Ella aveva una sorella chiamata Maria, la quale seduta ai piedi del Signore, ascoltava la sua parola.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.	40 Marta intanto s'affannava tra molte faccende, e si presentò a dire: «Signore, non t'importa che mia sorella mi lasci sola a servire? Dille, dunque, di aiutarmi».
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:	41 Ma il Signore le rispose: «Marta, Marta, tu t'affanni e t'inquieti di troppe cose.
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.	42 Eppure una sola cosa è necessaria. Maria ha scelto la parte migliore, che non le sarà tolta».
