Jeremiah 44

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,	1 Eis a palavra que foi dirigida a Jeremias a propósito de todos os judeus, residentes no Egito, em Migdol, em Táfnis, em Mênfis e na região de Faturés:
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,	2 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: vistes todas as calamidades que fiz recair sobre Jerusalém e sobre todas as cidades de Judá. Converteram-se, agora, em desertos inabitáveis.
3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.	3 {Tudo isso aconteceu} por causa do mal que cometeram, irritando-me por incensarem e renderem culto a deuses estranhos que não conheciam, nem vós nem vossos pais.
4 Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.	4 Desde o início, contudo, jamais cessei de enviar-vos os profetas, meus servos, a fim de dizer-vos que não devíeis cometer tão detestáveis abominações.
5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.	5 Não me escutaram, porém, e nem deram ouvidos, recusando abandonar sua maldade e cessar de oferecer incenso a deuses estranhos.
6 Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.	6 Assim, sobre eles recaiu toda a minha cólera, consumindo as cidades de Judá e as ruas de Jerusalém, que ficaram reduzidas ao estado de devastação, como hoje se apresentam.
7 Therefore now this saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;	7 E, agora, eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: por que trabalhais assim contra vós mesmos, causando desse modo no seio de Judá a exterminação dos homens, das mulheres, das crianças e dos meninos de peito, a tal ponto que de vosso povo ninguém sobreviverá,
8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?	8 dado que me irritastes pela vossa vida, ofertando incenso a deuses estranhos, aqui no Egito, aonde viestes estabelecer-vos? Por que perecer e tornar-vos entre todas as nações da terra um tema de maldição e objeto de vergonha?
9 Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?	9 Esquecestes os crimes de vossos pais, os dos reis de Judá e das mulheres de vossa terra, vossos próprios crimes e os de vossas mulheres, cometidos na terra de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém?
10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.	10 Nenhum arrependimento até hoje sentiram, nem temor tiveram. Não observaram minha lei, nem os mandamentos que vos havia imposto assim como a vossos pais.
11 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.	11 Eis por que, assim disse o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, vou desviar de vós a minha face para vossa desgraça e extermínio de Judá.
12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.	12 E tomarei o resto de Judá que quis vir habitar no Egito. Perecerão todos, vítimas da espada e da fome. Perecerão pequenos e grandes, pela espada e pela fome; serão citados como execráveis, e constituirão objeto de espanto, de maldição e de opróbrio.
13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:	13 Castigarei os que residem no Egito, como o fiz em Jerusalém, pela espada, pela fome e pela peste.
14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.	14 Dos que vieram de Judá estabelecer-se no Egito, nenhum escapará nem sobreviverá para regressar à Judéia, local a que aspiram voltar para lá de novo habitar. Ninguém voltará, a não ser alguns fugitivos.
15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,	15 Então, todos os homens, cientes de que suas mulheres ofereciam incenso aos deuses estranhos, todas as mulheres em grande número lá reunidas e todo o povo residente em Faturés, no Egito, responderam a Jeremias:
16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.	16 O que nos dizes em nome do Senhor não o aceitamos.
17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.	17 Cumpriremos, porém, todas as promessas que fizemos de queimar incenso à rainha do céu e de lhe oferecer libações, como o fazíamos, nós e nossos pais, nossos reis e chefes, nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém. Então, tínhamos pão em fartura, vivíamos na abundância e não sabíamos o que fosse a desgraça.
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.	18 Ora, depois que cessamos de queimar incenso à rainha do céu e de lhe oferecer libações, tudo nos falta, e perecemos pela espada e pela fome.
19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?	19 Além disso, quando queimamos incenso à rainha do céu e lhe oferecemos libações, é, porventura, sem o consentimento de nossos maridos que ofertamos torta à sua efígie e lhe rendemos libações?
20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,	20 Dirigiu-se então Jeremias à multidão, aos homens e mulheres e a quantos lhe haviam assim respondido:
21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?	21 Do incenso que queimastes, disse-lhes, nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém, vós, vossos pais, vossos reis e chefes, assim como o povo, não se terá recordado o Senhor e nisso não terá pensado?
22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.	22 Não tendo o Senhor podido suportar mais tempo a maldade de vossos atos e abominações, foi nossa terra reduzida ao estado de solidão, devastada e amaldiçoada, onde ninguém mais habita, como hoje se apresenta.
23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.	23 E, se a calamidade presente vos adveio, é porque oferecestes o incenso desse modo, pecando contra o Senhor, e porque lhe recusastes ouvir a voz e observar suas leis e preceitos.
24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:	24 Jeremias acrescentou, a respeito do povo e das mulheres: Escutai a palavra do Senhor, povo de Judá que reside no Egito.
25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.	25 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: vós e vossas mulheres fazeis com as mãos o que diz a vossa boca. Dizeis: cumpriremos as promessas de oferecer incenso e libações em honra da rainha do céu. - Pois bem! Cumpri vossos votos, mantende vossas promessas.
26 Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.	26 Escutai, porém, a palavra do Senhor, judeus que habitais no Egito. Eis, diz o Senhor, pelo meu grande nome eu juro! Esse nome não será mais pronunciado em todo o Egito por nenhum homem de Judá, dizendo: Pela vida do Senhor Javé!
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.	27 Vou ocupar-me com eles para a desgraça e não para o bem. Todos os judeus que residem no Egito perecerão pela espada e pela fome, até o total aniquilamento.
28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.	28 O pequeno número deles que escapar à espada voltará do Egito para Judá. Os sobreviventes de Judá que vierem estabelecer-se no Egito saberão que predição se há de consumar, se a minha, ou a deles.
29 And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:	29 Eis o sinal - oráculo do Senhor - pelo qual reconhecereis que, aqui mesmo, me laçarei contra vós, a fim de que saibais que minha predição se há de cumprir com certeza para a vossa desgraça.
30 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.	30 Eis o que diz o Senhor: vou entregar o faraó Hofra, rei do Egito, aos seus inimigos e àqueles que lhe querem roubar a vida, assim como entreguei Sedecias, rei de Judá, ao poder de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, seu inimigo, e que lhe procurava tirar a vida.
