Jeremiah 44

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,	1 Parola annunziata a tutti i Giudei, che abitavano nella terra d Egitto, a Magdalo, e a Taphnis, e a Memphi, e nella terra di Phatures, per bocca di Geremia profeta, il quale diceva:
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,	2 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Voi avete veduto tutti que' mali, ch'io ho mandati sopra Gerusalemme, e sopra tutte le citta di Giuda; ed ecco, che elle sono in oggi deserte, e vuote di abitatori;
3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.	3 A causa delle malvagità commesse da loro per provocarmi a sdegno, andando a offerir sagrifizj, e a rendere onore agli dei stranieri, ignoti ad essi, e a voi, e a' padri vostri.
4 Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.	4 E mandai a voi con gran sollecitudine i miei servi, i Profeti, li mandai a dirvi: Non fate tali abbominazioni, le quali sono odiose all'anima mia.
5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.	5 E non ascoltarono, e non piegaron le orecchie per convertirsi dalle loro malvagità, e astenersi dal sagrificare agli dei stranieri.
6 Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.	6 E si accese il mio sdegno, e il mio furore, e scoppiò contro le città di Giuda, e contro le piazze di Gerusalemme, e si sono cangiate in solitudine, e in disertagione, quale oggi si vede.
7 Therefore now this saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;	7 E adesso queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Per qual motivo fate questo gran male contro le anime vostre, per far perire i vostri uomini, e le vostre donne, i fanciulli, e i bambini di latte in mezzo a Giuda, talmente che nulla più rimanga di voi,
8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?	8 Irritandomi colle opere delle vostre mani, sagrificando agli dei stranieri nella terra d'Egitto, dove siete venuti per abitarvi, e per malamente perire, ed essere la maledizione, e l'obbrobrio di tutte le genti della terra?
9 Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?	9 Vi siete voi dimenticati de' peccati de' padri vostri, e de' peccati dei re di Giuda, e de' peccati delle loro mogli, e de' peccati vostri; e de' peccati delle vostre mogli, fatti nella terra di Giuda, e ne' rioni di Gerusalemme?
10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.	10 Ei non se ne sono mondati fino a questo dì, e non hanno temuto, e non hanno osservata la legge del Signore, né i comandamenti intimati da me a voi, e a' padri vostri.
11 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.	11 Per questo cosi dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Ecco, che io fisserò sopra di voi la mia faccia per vostro danno, e sperderò tutto Giuda.
12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.	12 E me la prenderò cogli avanzi di Giuda, i quali si sono ostinati a voler venire in Egitto, e quivi abitare, e saran tutti consunti nella terra d'Egitto; periranno di spada, e di fame; e saran consunti dal più piccolo fino al più grande, morranno di spada, e di fame, e saranno oggetto di esecrazione, diterrore, di maledizione, e di obbrobrio.
13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:	13 E visiterò gli abitatori d'Egitto, come ho visitato Gerusalemme, colla spada, colla fame, e colla peste:
14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.	14 E non sarà chi la scampi; e degli avanzi de' Giudei, che son pellegrini nella terra d'Egitto, non rimarrà uomo, che torni nella terra di Giuda,verso la quale sospirano di tornare, e di abitarvi: non vi torneranno, se non quelli, che fuggiranno dall'Egitto.
15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,	15 Ma tutti gli uomini (i quali sapevano, come le loro mogli offerivan sagrifizj agli dei stranieri), e tutte le donne, che eran ivi in gran numero, e tutto il popolo, che dimorava nella terra d'Egitto, in Phatures, risposero a Geremia, dicendo:
16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.	16 Intorno alle parole, che tu hai dette a noi nel nome del Signore, noi non ti daremo retta,
17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.	17 Ma assolutamente faremo tutto quello, che avrem promesso, e farem sagrifizj, e libagioni alla regina del cielo, conforme facemmo noi, e i padri nostri, e i nostri regi, e i nostri principi nelle città di Giuda, e nelle piazze di Gerusalemme, onde avemmo abbondanza di pane, fummo felici, e non vedemmo sciagura.
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.	18 Ma da quel tempo, in cui tralasciammo di far sagrifizj, e libagioni alla regina del cielo, siam poveri di ogni bene, e siamo consunti dalla spada, ed alla fame.
19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?	19 Che se noi offeriam sagrifizj, e libagioni alla regina del cielo, abbiam forse noi fatte a lei le schiacciate senza i nostri mariti per onorarla, e offerire a lei le libagioni?
20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,	20 E Geremia disse a tutto il popolo, agli uomini, e alle donne, e a tutta la plebe, che gli avean risposto in tal guisa:
21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?	21 E non si è egli ricordato, e non è egli stato irritato in cuor suo il Signore per que' sagrifizj offerti da voi, e da'padri vostri, e da' vostri regi, e da' vostri principi, e dal popolo di quella terra nelle città di Giuda, e nelle piazze di Gerusalemme?
22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.	22 Non poteva più sopportarvi il Signore per le malvage incljnazioni vostre, e per le abbominazioni, che avete fatte: e la vostra terra è stata desolata, e ridotta oggetto di spavento, e di maledizione, e vuota d'abitatori, com' ella è in oggi.
23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.	23 Perchè voi sagrificaste agl'idoli, e peccaste contro il Signore, e non ascoltaste la voce del Signore, e non osservaste la legge, e i comandamenti, e gl'insegnamenti di lui, per questo sono venute sopra di voi queste sciagure, come oggi si vede.
24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:	24 Disse ancor Geremia a tutto il popolo, e a tutte le donne: Udite la Parola del Signore voi popol tutto di Giuda, quanti siete in Egitto:
25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.	25 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Voi, e le vostre mogli colla vostra bocca avete detto, e colle mani vostre avete fatto quello, che dicevate: Adempiamo i nostri voti, che abbiam fatti, di offerire sacrifizio, e libagioni alla regina del cielo; avete adempiuti i vostri voti, e gli avete soddisfatti coll'opera.
26 Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.	26 Per questo udite la Parola del Signore, o popol di Giuda, voi, che abitate nella terra d'Egitto: Ecco, che io ho giurato pel nome mio grande, dice il Signore, che il nome mio non sarà più pronunziato in tutta la terra d'Egitto dalla bocca di uomo alcuno Giudeo, che dica: Vive il Signore.
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.	27 Ecco, che io veglierò sopra di essi per loro danno, e non per loro bene; e tutti gli uomini di Giuda, che sono in Egitto, saran consunti dalla spada, e dalla fame, finché siano sterminati totalmente.
28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.	28 Ma quegli, che fuggiranno la spada, uscendo dall'Egitto, torneranno in piccol numero nella terra di Giuda: e tutti gli avanzi di Giuda, che sono entrati in Egitto per abitarvi, conosceranno, se la mia parola, o la loro abbia effetto.
29 And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:	29 Ed eccovi un segno (dice il Signore) della visita, ch'io farò a voi in questo luogo, affinchè intendiate come le parole mie saranno veracemente adempiute sopra di voi per vostra sciagura.
30 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.	30 Queste cose dice il Signore: Ecco, che io darò Faraone Ephree re d'Egitto in potere de' suoi nemici, in potere di quegli, che cercano la sua perdizione, come diedi Sedecia re di Giuda in potere di Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia suo nemico, il quale cercava la sua perdizione.
