Jeremiah 44

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,	1 Palabra que llegó a Jeremías para todos los judíos que habitaban en Egipto, los que habitaban en Migdol, en Tafnis, en Nof y en el distrito de Patrós:
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,	2 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Ustedes han visto todo el mal que atraje sobre Jerusalén y sobre todas las ciudades de Judá: hoy ellas están en ruinas y sin habitantes,
3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.	3 a causa del mal que cometieron para agraviarme, yendo a quemar incienso en honor de otros dioses que no conocías ellos, ni ustedes, ni sus padres.
4 Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.	4 Yo les envié incansablemente a todos mis servidores los profetas, para decirles: No cometan estas cosas abominables que yo detesto.
5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.	5 Pero ellos no han escuchado ni han inclinado su oído, a fin de convertirse de su maldad dejando de quemar incienso a otros dioses.
6 Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.	6 Entonces se derramaron mi ira y mi furor, y abrasaron las ciudades de Judá y las calles de Jerusalén, que se han convertido en ruina y desolación, como sucede en el día de hoy.
7 Therefore now this saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;	7 Y ahora, así habla el señor, Dios de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: ¿Por qué se hacen un mal tan grande a ustedes mismos? ¿Por qué se hacen exterminar de en medio de Judá, hombres y mujeres, niños y pequeños, sin dejar para ustedes ni siquiera un resto?
8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?	8 Esto es lo que consiguen, agraviándome con las obras de sus manos y quemando incienso a otros dioses en el país de Egipto, donde han entrado para residir allí, a fin de hacerse exterminar y convertirse en maldición e ignominia entre todas las naciones de la tierra.
9 Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?	9 ¿Acaso han olvidado la maldad de sus padres, la maldad de los reyes de Judá y la de sus príncipes, la maldad de ustedes mismos y de sus mujeres, cometidas en el país de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalén?
10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.	10 Hasta el día de hoy, ellos no han sentido compunción ni temor y no han caminado conforme a mi Ley y a mis preceptos, que yo puse delante de ustedes y de sus padres.
11 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.	11 Por eso, así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Yo vuelvo mi rostro contra ustedes para su mal, para exterminar a todo Judá
12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.	12 Tomaré al resto de Judá que se empeñó en entrar en Egipto para residir allí, y todos desaparecerán completamente en el país de Egipto: caerán bajo la espada, desaparecerán completamente por el hambre desde el más pequeño al más grande, morirán por la espada y el hambre, y se convertirán en imprecación, devastación, maldición e ignominia.
13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:	13 Yo pediré cuanta a los que habitan en el país Egipto como le pedí cuanta a Jerusalén por medio de la espada, el hambre y la peste.
14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.	14 No habrá fugitivo ni sobreviviente para el resto de Judá, para los que entraron el país de Egipto a fin de residir allí. En cuanto a volver al país de Judá, adonde ellos suspiran por volver, no, no volverán, salvo algunos fugitivos.
15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,	15 Todos los hombres que sabían que sus mujeres quemaban incienso a otros dioses, así como también las mujeres presentes –una gran asamblea– y todo el pueblo que habitaba en el país de Egipto, en Patrós, respondieron a Jeremías:
16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.	16 «En lo que respecta a la palabra que nos has dirigido en nombre del Señor, no te escucharemos.
17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.	17 Por el contrario, llevaremos a cabo la promesa que ha salido de nuestra boca: quemaremos incienso a la Reina de los cielos y le haremos libaciones, como lo hacíamos nosotros y nuestros padres, nuestros reyes y nuestros príncipes, en las ciudades de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalén. Entonces nos saciábamos de pan, éramos felices y no veíamos la desgracia.
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.	18 Pero desde que dejamos de quemar incienso a la Reina de los cielos y de derramarle libaciones, carecemos de todo y desapareceremos completamente por la espada y el hambre».
19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?	19 Y las mujeres añadieron: «Cuando nosotros quemamos incienso a la Reina de los cielos y le derramamos libaciones, ¿acaso hacemos tortas con su figura y le derramamos libaciones sin el consentimiento de nuestros maridos?».
20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,	20 Jeremías dijo entonces a todo el pueblo, a los hombres, a las mujeres y a toda la gente que le había dado esa respuesta:
21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?	21 «¿Acaso el Señor no recordó y tuvo bien presente ese incienso que ustedes quemaban en las ciudades de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalén, ustedes y sus padres, sus reyes y sus príncipes, y también el pueblo del país?
22 So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.	22 Y como el Señor ya no podía soportar las malas acciones y las abominaciones que ustedes cometían, su país se ha convertido en un desierto, una devastación y una maldición, y ha quedado despoblado, como en el día de hoy.
23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.	23 Porque ustedes quemaron incienso y pecaron contra el Señor, porque ustedes no escucharon la voz del Señor ni caminaron según su Ley, sus preceptos y sus testimonios, por eso les ha sobrevenido esta desgracia, como en el día de hoy».
24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:	24 Jeremías dijo a todos los hombres y todas las mujeres: «Escuchen la palabra del Señor, todos ustedes, gente de Judá, que están en el país de Egipto:
25 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.	25 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Ustedes, las mujeres, con su boca han declarado esto, y con sus manos lo han llevado a cabo: «Cumpliremos nuestros votos de quemar incienso a la Reina de los cielos y derramarle libaciones». Muy bien: ¡cumplan sus votos, hagan libaciones!
26 Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.	26 Pero escuchen la palabra del Señor, todos ustedes, gente de Judá que habitan en el país de Egipto: Juro por mi gran Nombre –dice el Señor– que mi Nombre no será más invocado por la boca de ningún hombre de Judá, y que nadie dirá: ¡Por la vida del Señor! en todo el país de Egipto.
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.	27 Yo vigilo sobre ustedes para mal y no para bien: todos los hombres de Judá que están en el país de Egipto desaparecerán completamente por la espada y por el hambre, hasta ser exterminados.
28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.	28 Sólo unos pocos librados de la espada retornarán de Egipto al país de Judá. Y todo el resto de Judá, los que entraron el país de Egipto para residir allí, sabrán qué palabra se realiza, si la mía o la de ellos.
29 And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:	29 Y esta será para ustedes –oráculo del Señor– la señal de que yo voy a castigarlos, en este lugar, a fin de que sepan que mis palabras contra ustedes se cumplirán seguramente para su propio mal:
30 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.	30 Así habla el Señor: Voy a entregar al faraón Jofrá, rey de Egipto, en manos de sus enemigos y en manos de los que atentan contra su vida, como entregué a Sedecías, rey de Judá, en manos de su enemigo Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, que intentaba quitarle la vida».
