1 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;	1 Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi. Livrai-me, Senhor, do homem mau; preservai-me do homem violento,
2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.	2 daqueles que tramam o mal no coração, que provocam discórdias diariamente,
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.	3 que aguçam a língua qual serpente, que ocultam nos lábios veneno viperino.
4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.	4 Salvai-me, Senhor, das mãos do ímpio; preservai-me do homem violento, daqueles que tramam minha queda.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.	5 Orgulhosos, armam laços contra mim e estendem suas redes, e junto ao caminho me colocam ciladas.
6 I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.	6 Digo ao Senhor: Vós sois o meu Deus. Escutai, Senhor, a voz de minha súplica.
7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.	7 Senhor Deus, meu poderoso apoio! Vós protegeis minha fronte no dia do combate.
8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.	8 Não atendais, Senhor, os desejos do ímpio, não deixeis que se cumpram seus desígnios.
9 As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.	9 Que não levantem a cabeça os que me cercam; sobre eles recaia a malícia de seus lábios.
10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.	10 Carvões ardentes chovam sobre eles: sejam lançados numa fossa de onde não se ergam mais.
11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.	11 Não terá duração na terra a má língua; o infortúnio surpreenderá o homem violento.
12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.	12 Sei que o Senhor defende o desvalido, e faz justiça aos pobres.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.	13 Sim, os justos celebrarão o vosso nome, e os retos poderão viver em vossa presença.
