Psalms 140

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;	1 Del maestro de coro. Salmo de David.
2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.	2 Líbrame, Señor, de la gente malvada, protégeme de los hombres violentos,
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.	3 de los que sólo piensan en hacer el mal y provocan discordias todo el día.
4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.	4 Ellos afilan su lengua como serpientes, en sus labios hay veneno de víboras.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.	5 Defiéndeme, Señor, de las manos del impío, protégeme de los hombres violentos, de los que intentan hacerme tropezar y han tendido una red ante mis pies:
6 I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.	6 los prepotentes me han ocultado trampas y lazos, me han puesto acechanzas al borde del camino.
7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.	7 Pero yo digo al Señor: «Tú eres mi Dios»: escucha, Señor, el clamor de mi súplica;
8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.	8 Señor, mi Señor, mi ayuda poderosa, recubre mi cabeza en el momento del combate.
9 As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.	9 No satisfagas los deseos del malvado ni dejes que se cumplan sus proyectos;
10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.	10 que no levanten cabeza los que me asedian, y su maledicencia los envuelva.
11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.	11 Que se acumulen sobre ellos carbones encendidos, que caigan en lo profundo y no puedan levantarse.
12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.	12 Que los difamadores no estén seguros en la tierra, y la desgracia persiga a muerte al violento.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.	13 Yo sé que el Señor hace justicia a los humildes y defiende los derechos de los pobres.
	14 Sí, los justos darán gracias a tu Nombre y los buenos vivirán en tu presencia.
