1 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;	1 'Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.'
2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.	2 Salvami, Signore, dal malvagio, proteggimi dall'uomo violento,
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.	3 da quelli che tramano sventure nel cuore e ogni giorno scatenano guerre.
4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.	4 Aguzzano la lingua come serpenti; veleno d'aspide è sotto le loro labbra.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.	5 Proteggimi, Signore, dalle mani degli empi, salvami dall'uomo violento: essi tramano per farmi cadere.
6 I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.	6 I superbi mi tendono lacci e stendono funi come una rete, pongono agguati sul mio cammino.
7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.	7 Io dico al Signore: "Tu sei il mio Dio; ascolta, Signore, la voce della mia preghiera".
8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.	8 Signore, mio Dio, forza della mia salvezza, proteggi il mio capo nel giorno della lotta.
9 As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.	9 Signore, non soddisfare i desideri degli empi, non favorire le loro trame.
10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.	10 Alzano la testa quelli che mi circondano, ma la malizia delle loro labbra li sommerge.
11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.	11 Fa' piovere su di loro carboni ardenti, gettali nel bàratro e più non si rialzino.
12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.	12 Il maldicente non duri sulla terra, il male spinga il violento alla rovina.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.	13 So che il Signore difende la causa dei miseri, il diritto dei poveri.
	14 Sì, i giusti loderanno il tuo nome, i retti abiteranno alla tua presenza.
