KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.1 A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, then we thought we were dreaming.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.2 Our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues sang for joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD had done great things for them."
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.3 The LORD has done great things for us; Oh, how happy we were!
Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.4 Restore again our fortunes, LORD, like the dry stream beds of the Negeb.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.5 Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.6 Those who go forth weeping, carrying sacks of seed, Will return with cries of joy, carrying their bundled sheaves.
