1 In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.	1 Canto delle ascensioni. Al Signore gridai nell'angustia ed egli mi rispose:
2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.	2 "Signore, libera l'anima mia da labbra di menzogna, da lingua ingannatrice".
3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?	3 Che cosa ti dovrà dare, o che cosa aggiungere, lingua menzognera?
4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.	4 Frecce acute di un prode con carboni di ginepro!
5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!	5 Me infelice! Poiché ero straniero in Mosoch, dimoravo fra le tende di Kedar.
6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.	6 Troppo a lungo se n'è stata l'anima mia con gente nemica della pace!
7 I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.	7 Mentre io parlavo di pace, essi invece erano per la guerra.
