1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;	1 Al eluia! When Israel came out of Egypt, the House of Jacob from a people of foreign speech,
2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.	2 Judah became his sanctuary, and Israel his domain.
3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.	3 The sea fled at the sight, the Jordan turned back,

5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?	5 Sea, what makes you flee? Jordan, why turn back?
