1 When the lord brought back the captivity of Sion, we became like men comforted.	1 Cantico de' gradi. Beati tutti coloro, che temono il Signore, che camminano nelle sue vie.
2 Then was our mouth filled with gladness; and our tongue with joy. Then shall they say among the Gentiles: The Lord hath done great things for them.	2 Perché tu mangerai le fatiche delle tue mani, tu se' beato, e sarai felice.
3 The Lord hath done great things for us: we are become joyful.	3 La tua consorte come vite feconda: nell'interior di tua casa.
4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as a stream in the south.	4 I tuoi figliuoli, come novelle piante d'ulivi intorno alla tua mensa.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.	5 Ecco come sarà benedetto l'uomo, che teme il Signore.
6 Going they went and wept, casting their seeds.	6 Ti benedica da Sionne il Signore, e vegga tu i beni di Gerusalemme per tutti i giorni della tua vita.
7 But coming they shall come with joyfulness, carrying their sheaves.	7 E vegga tu i figliuoli de' tuoi figliuoli: e la pace in Israele.
