1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David.	1 For the leader. A psalm of David.
2 Seigneur, ta puissance fait la joie du roi: tu lui promets le succès: quel bonheur!	2 LORD, the king finds joy in your power; in your victory how greatly he rejoices!
3 Tu lui as accordé ce qu’il souhaitait, tu n’as pas refusé ce qu’il te demandait.	3 You have granted him his heart's desire; you did not refuse the prayer of his lips. Selah
4 Tu viens à lui avec de bonnes bénédictions toi qui places sur sa tête une couronne d’or.	4 For you welcomed him with goodly blessings; you placed on his head a crown of pure gold.
5 Il te demandait la vie: tu la lui donnes, un grand nombre de jours, beaucoup, beaucoup d’années.	5 He asked life of you; you gave it to him, length of days forever.
6 Grâce à toi il aura la gloire, car tu le feras réussir; tu lui accordes honneur et majesté.	6 Great is his glory in your victory; majesty and splendor you confer upon him.
7 Tu l’as béni pour la suite des temps, ta présence déjà fait sa joie.	7 You make him the pattern of blessings forever, you gladden him with the joy of your presence.
8 Le roi se confie dans le Seigneur, par la grâce du Très-Haut il ne faiblira pas.	8 For the king trusts in the LORD, stands firm through the love of the Most High.
9 Oui, ta main atteindra ton ennemi, tes armes sauront trouver ceux qui te haïssent.	9 Your hand will reach all your enemies; your right hand will reach your foes!
10 Dès que tu parais, ils sont comme l’herbe au four: le Seigneur dans sa colère les dévorera comme un feu.	10 At the time of your coming you will drive them into a furnace. Then the LORD'S anger will consume them, devour them with fire.
11 Tu enlèveras de la terre leur race, et leur semence disparaîtra d’entre les hommes.	11 Even their descendants you will wipe out from the earth, their offspring from the human race.
12 S’ils te cherchent du mal, s’ils font des plans contre toi, ils ne pourront rien.	12 Though they intend evil against you, devising plots, they will not succeed,
13 Quand tu banderas face à eux la corde de l’arc, tu leur feras tourner le dos.	13 For you will put them to flight; you will aim at them with your bow.
14 Lève-toi, Seigneur, montre ta puissance, et nous jouerons, nous chanterons ta vaillance.	14 Arise, LORD, in your power! We will sing and chant the praise of your might.
