CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINLXX
I will not rouse him, as the cruel would do, for who is able to withstand my countenance?1 ουχ εορακας αυτον ουδε επι τοις λεγομενοις τεθαυμακας
Who has given to me beforehand, so that I should repay him? All things that are under heaven are mine.2 ου δεδοικας οτι ητοιμασται μοι τις γαρ εστιν ο εμοι αντιστας
I will not spare him, nor his powerful words and counterfeit attempts at supplication.3 η τις αντιστησεται μοι και υπομενει ει πασα η υπ' ουρανον εμη εστιν
Who can reveal the beauty of his garment? And who can enter the middle of his mouth?4 ου σιωπησομαι δι' αυτον και λογον δυναμεως ελεησει τον ισον αυτου
Who can open the doors of his face? I gave fear to the circle of his teeth.5 τις αποκαλυψει προσωπον ενδυσεως αυτου εις δε πτυξιν θωρακος αυτου τις αν εισελθοι
His body is like shields fused together, like dense scales pressed over one another.6 πυλας προσωπου αυτου τις ανοιξει κυκλω οδοντων αυτου φοβος
One is joined to another, and not even air can pass between them.7 τα εγκατα αυτου ασπιδες χαλκειαι συνδεσμος δε αυτου ωσπερ σμιριτης λιθος
They adhere to one another, and they hold themselves in place and will not be separated.8 εις του ενος κολλωνται πνευμα δε ου μη διελθη αυτον
His sneezing has the brilliance of fire, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.9 ανηρ τω αδελφω αυτου προσκολληθησεται συνεχονται και ου μη αποσπασθωσιν
Lamps proceed from his mouth, like torches of fire burning brightly.10 εν πταρμω αυτου επιφαυσκεται φεγγος οι δε οφθαλμοι αυτου ειδος εωσφορου
Smoke passes out of his nostrils, like a pot that is heated and boiling.11 εκ στοματος αυτου εκπορευονται λαμπαδες καιομεναι και διαρριπτουνται εσχαραι πυρος
His breath causes coal to burn, and a flame comes forth from his mouth.12 εκ μυκτηρων αυτου εκπορευεται καπνος καμινου καιομενης πυρι ανθρακων
Strength dwells in his neck, and destitution goes before his presence.13 η ψυχη αυτου ανθρακες φλοξ δε εκ στοματος αυτου εκπορευεται
The parts of his body work in harmony together. He will send lightning bolts against him, and they will not be carried to another place.14 εν δε τραχηλω αυτου αυλιζεται δυναμις εμπροσθεν αυτου τρεχει απωλεια
His heart will be as hard as a stone and as dense as a blacksmith’s anvil.15 σαρκες δε σωματος αυτου κεκολληνται καταχεει επ' αυτον ου σαλευθησεται
When he will be raised up, the angels will be afraid, and, because they are terrified, they will purify themselves.16 η καρδια αυτου πεπηγεν ως λιθος εστηκεν δε ωσπερ ακμων ανηλατος
When a sword catches up with him, it will not be able to settle in, nor a spear, nor a breastplate.17 στραφεντος δε αυτου φοβος θηριοις τετραποσιν επι γης αλλομενοις
For he will consider iron as if it were chaff, and brass as if it were rotten wood.18 εαν συναντησωσιν αυτω λογχαι ουδεν μη ποιησωσιν δορυ επηρμενον και θωρακα
The archer will not cause him to flee; the stones of the sling have been turned into stubble for him.19 ηγηται μεν γαρ σιδηρον αχυρα χαλκον δε ωσπερ ξυλον σαθρον
He will treat the hammer as if it were stubble, and he will ridicule those who brandish the spear.20 ου μη τρωση αυτον τοξον χαλκειον ηγηται μεν πετροβολον χορτον
The beams of the sun will be under him, and he will dispense gold to them as if it were clay.21 ως καλαμη ελογισθησαν σφυραι καταγελα δε σεισμου πυρφορου
He will make the depths of the sea boil like a pot, and he will set it to bubble just as ointments do.22 η στρωμνη αυτου οβελισκοι οξεις πας δε χρυσος θαλασσης υπ' αυτον ωσπερ πηλος αμυθητος
A path will shine after him; he will esteem the abyss as if it were weakening with age.23 αναζει την αβυσσον ωσπερ χαλκειον ηγηται δε την θαλασσαν ωσπερ εξαλειπτρον
There is no power on the earth that is being compared to him, who has been made so that he fears no one.24 τον δε ταρταρον της αβυσσου ωσπερ αιχμαλωτον ελογισατο αβυσσον εις περιπατον
He sees every prominent thing; he is king over all the sons of arrogance.25 ουκ εστιν ουδεν επι της γης ομοιον αυτω πεποιημενον εγκαταπαιζεσθαι υπο των αγγελων μου
παν υψηλον ορα αυτος δε βασιλευς παντων των εν τοις υδασιν
