Der Brief an die Kolosser 3

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ihr seid mit Christus auferweckt; darum strebt nach dem, was im Himmel ist, wo Christus zur Rechten Gottes sitzt.	1 Since you have been raised up to be with Christ, you must look for the things that are above, whereChrist is, sitting at God's right hand.
2 Richtet euren Sinn auf das Himmlische und nicht auf das Irdische!	2 Let your thoughts be on things above, not on the things that are on the earth,
3 Denn ihr seid gestorben und euer Leben ist mit Christus verborgen in Gott.	3 because you have died, and now the life you have is hidden with Christ in God.
4 Wenn Christus, unser Leben, offenbar wird, dann werdet auch ihr mit ihm offenbar werden in Herrlichkeit.	4 But when Christ is revealed -- and he is your life-you, too, wil be revealed with him in glory.
5 Darum tötet, was irdisch an euch ist: die Unzucht, die Schamlosigkeit, die Leidenschaft, die bösen Begierden und die Habsucht, die ein Götzendienst ist.	5 That is why you must kill everything in you that is earthly: sexual vice, impurity, uncontrol ed passion,evil desires and especially greed, which is the same thing as worshipping a false god;
6 All das zieht den Zorn Gottes nach sich.	6 it is precisely these things which draw God's retribution upon those who resist.
7 Früher seid auch ihr darin gefangen gewesen und habt euer Leben davon beherrschen lassen.	7 And these things made up your way of life when you were living among such people,
8 Jetzt aber sollt ihr das alles ablegen: Zorn, Wut und Bosheit; auch Lästerungen und Zoten sollen nicht mehr über eure Lippen kommen.	8 but now you also must give up al these things: human anger, hot temper, malice, abusive language anddirty talk;
9 Belügt einander nicht; denn ihr habt den alten Menschen mit seinen Taten abgelegt	9 and do not lie to each other. You have stripped off your old behaviour with your old self,
10 und seid zu einem neuen Menschen geworden, der nach dem Bild seines Schöpfers erneuert wird, um ihn zu erkennen.	10 and you have put on a new self which will progress towards true knowledge the more it is renewed inthe image of its Creator;
11 Wo das geschieht, gibt es nicht mehr Griechen oder Juden, Beschnittene oder Unbeschnittene, Fremde, Skythen, Sklaven oder Freie, sondern Christus ist alles und in allen.	11 and in that image there is no room for distinction between Greek and Jew, between the circumcisedand uncircumcised, or between barbarian and Scythian, slave and free. There is only Christ: he is everythingand he is in everything.
12 Ihr seid von Gott geliebt, seid seine auserwählten Heiligen. Darum bekleidet euch mit aufrichtigem Erbarmen, mit Güte, Demut, Milde, Geduld!	12 As the chosen of God, then, the holy people whom he loves, you are to be clothed in heartfeltcompassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and patience.
13 Ertragt euch gegenseitig und vergebt einander, wenn einer dem andern etwas vorzuwerfen hat. Wie der Herr euch vergeben hat, so vergebt auch ihr!	13 Bear with one another; forgive each other if one of you has a complaint against another. The Lord hasforgiven you; now you must do the same.
14 Vor allem aber liebt einander, denn die Liebe ist das Band, das alles zusammenhält und vollkommen macht.	14 Over al these clothes, put on love, the perfect bond.
15 In eurem Herzen herrsche der Friede Christi; dazu seid ihr berufen als Glieder des einen Leibes. Seid dankbar!	15 And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were cal ed together inone body. Always be thankful.
16 Das Wort Christi wohne mit seinem ganzen Reichtum bei euch. Belehrt und ermahnt einander in aller Weisheit! Singt Gott in eurem Herzen Psalmen, Hymnen und Lieder, wie sie der Geist eingibt, denn ihr seid in Gottes Gnade.	16 Let the Word of Christ, in al its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise eachother, in al wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God;
17 Alles, was ihr in Worten und Werken tut, geschehe im Namen Jesu, des Herrn. Durch ihn dankt Gott, dem Vater!	17 and whatever you say or do, let it be in the name of the Lord Jesus, in thanksgiving to God the Fatherthrough him.
18 Ihr Frauen, ordnet euch euren Männern unter, wie es sich im Herrn geziemt.	18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as you should in the Lord.
19 Ihr Männer, liebt eure Frauen und seid nicht aufgebracht gegen sie!	19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be sharp with them.
20 Ihr Kinder, gehorcht euren Eltern in allem; denn so ist es gut und recht im Herrn.	20 Children, be obedient to your parents always, because that is what will please the Lord.
21 Ihr Väter, schüchtert eure Kinder nicht ein, damit sie nicht mutlos werden.	21 Parents, do not irritate your children or they will lose heart.
22 Ihr Sklaven, gehorcht euren irdischen Herren in allem! Arbeitet nicht nur, um euch bei den Menschen einzuschmeicheln und ihnen zu gefallen, sondern fürchtet den Herrn mit aufrichtigem Herzen!	22 Slaves, be obedient in every way to the people who, according to human reckoning, are your masters;not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but wholeheartedly, out ofrespect for the Master.
23 Tut eure Arbeit gern, als wäre sie für den Herrn und nicht für Menschen;	23 Whatever your work is, put your heart into it as done for the Lord and not for human beings,
24 ihr wisst, dass ihr vom Herrn euer Erbe als Lohn empfangen werdet. Dient Christus, dem Herrn!	24 knowing that the Lord wil repay you by making you his heirs. It is Christ the Lord that you are serving.
25 Wer Unrecht tut, wird dafür seine Strafe erhalten, ohne Ansehen der Person.	25 Anyone who does wrong wil be repaid in kind. For there is no favouritism.
