Matthäus 15

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Da kamen von Jerusalem Pharisäer und Schriftgelehrte zu Jesus und sagten:	1 Then Pharisees and scribes from Jerusalem came to Jesus and said,
2 Warum missachten deine Jünger die Überlieferung der Alten? Denn sie waschen sich nicht die Hände vor dem Essen.	2 'Why do your disciples break away from the tradition of the elders? They eat without washing theirhands.'
3 Er entgegnete ihnen: Warum missachtet denn ihr Gottes Gebot um eurer Überlieferung willen?	3 He answered, 'And why do you break away from the commandment of God for the sake of yourtradition?
4 Gott hat gesagt: Ehre Vater und Mutter!, und: Wer Vater oder Mutter verflucht, soll mit dem Tod bestraft werden.	4 For God said, "Honour your father and your mother" and "Anyone who curses his father or mother wilbe put to death."
5 Ihr aber lehrt: Wer zu Vater oder Mutter sagt: Was ich dir schulde, erkläre ich zur Opfergabe!,	5 But you say, "If anyone says to his father or mother: Anything I might have used to help you isdedicated to God,
6 der braucht seinen Vater oder seine Mutter nicht mehr zu ehren. Damit habt ihr Gottes Wort um eurer Überlieferung willen außer Kraft gesetzt.	6 he is rid of his duty to father or mother." In this way you have made God's word ineffective by means ofyour tradition.
7 Ihr Heuchler! Der Prophet Jesaja hatte Recht, als er über euch sagte:	7 Hypocrites! How rightly Isaiah prophesied about you when he said:
8 Dieses Volk ehrt mich mit den Lippen, sein Herz aber ist weit weg von mir.	8 This people honours me only with lip-service, while their hearts are far from me.
9 Es ist sinnlos, wie sie mich verehren; was sie lehren, sind Satzungen von Menschen.	9 Their reverence of me is worthless; the lessons they teach are nothing but human commandments.'
10 Und er rief die Leute zu sich und sagte: Hört und begreift:	10 He called the people to him and said, 'Listen, and understand.
11 Nicht das, was durch den Mund in den Menschen hineinkommt, macht ihn unrein, sondern was aus dem Mund des Menschen herauskommt, das macht ihn unrein.	11 What goes into the mouth does not make anyone unclean; it is what comes out of the mouth thatmakes someone unclean.'
12 Da kamen die Jünger zu ihm und sagten: Weißt du, dass die Pharisäer über deine Worte empört sind?	12 Then the disciples came to him and said, 'Do you know that the Pharisees were shocked when theyheard what you said?'
13 Er antwortete ihnen: Jede Pflanze, die nicht mein himmlischer Vater gepflanzt hat, wird ausgerissen werden.	13 He replied, 'Any plant my heavenly Father has not planted wil be pul ed up by the roots.
14 Lasst sie, es sind blinde Blindenführer. Und wenn ein Blinder einen Blinden führt, werden beide in eine Grube fallen.	14 Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if one blind person leads another, both wilfal into a pit.'
15 Da sagte Petrus zu ihm: Erkläre uns jenes rätselhafte Wort!	15 At this, Peter said to him, 'Explain the parable for us.'
16 Er antwortete: Seid auch ihr noch immer ohne Einsicht?	16 Jesus replied, 'Even you -- don't you yet understand?
17 Begreift ihr nicht, dass alles, was durch den Mund (in den Menschen) hineinkommt, in den Magen gelangt und dann wieder ausgeschieden wird?	17 Can't you see that whatever goes into the mouth passes through the stomach and is discharged intothe sewer?
18 Was aber aus dem Mund herauskommt, das kommt aus dem Herzen, und das macht den Menschen unrein.	18 But whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and it is this that makes someoneunclean.
19 Denn aus dem Herzen kommen böse Gedanken, Mord, Ehebruch, Unzucht, Diebstahl, falsche Zeugenaussagen und Verleumdungen.	19 For from the heart come evil intentions: murder, adultery, fornication, theft, perjury, slander.
20 Das ist es, was den Menschen unrein macht; aber mit ungewaschenen Händen essen macht ihn nicht unrein.	20 These are the things that make a person unclean. But eating with unwashed hands does not makeanyone unclean.'
21 Von dort zog sich Jesus in das Gebiet von Tyrus und Sidon zurück.	21 Jesus left that place and withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
22 Da kam eine kanaanäische Frau aus jener Gegend zu ihm und rief: Hab Erbarmen mit mir, Herr, du Sohn Davids! Meine Tochter wird von einem Dämon gequält.	22 And suddenly out came a Canaanite woman from that district and started shouting, 'Lord, Son ofDavid, take pity on me. My daughter is tormented by a devil.'
23 Jesus aber gab ihr keine Antwort. Da traten seine Jünger zu ihm und baten: Befrei sie (von ihrer Sorge), denn sie schreit hinter uns her.	23 But he said not a word in answer to her. And his disciples went and pleaded with him, saying, 'Giveher what she wants, because she keeps shouting after us.'
24 Er antwortete: Ich bin nur zu den verlorenen Schafen des Hauses Israel gesandt.	24 He said in reply, 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.'
25 Doch die Frau kam, fiel vor ihm nieder und sagte: Herr, hilf mir!	25 But the woman had come up and was bowing low before him. 'Lord,' she said, 'help me.'
26 Er erwiderte: Es ist nicht recht, das Brot den Kindern wegzunehmen und den Hunden vorzuwerfen.	26 He replied, 'It is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to little dogs.'
27 Da entgegnete sie: Ja, du hast recht, Herr! Aber selbst die Hunde bekommen von den Brotresten, die vom Tisch ihrer Herren fallen.	27 She retorted, 'Ah yes, Lord; but even little dogs eat the scraps that fal from their masters' table.'
28 Darauf antwortete ihr Jesus: Frau, dein Glaube ist groß. Was du willst, soll geschehen. Und von dieser Stunde an war ihre Tochter geheilt.	28 Then Jesus answered her, 'Woman, you have great faith. Let your desire be granted.' And from thatmoment her daughter was wel again.
29 Jesus zog weiter und kam an den See von Galiläa. Er stieg auf einen Berg und setzte sich.	29 Jesus went on from there and reached the shores of the Lake of Galilee, and he went up onto themountain. He took his seat,
30 Da kamen viele Menschen und brachten Lahme, Krüppel, Blinde, Stumme und viele andere Kranke zu ihm; sie legten sie vor ihn hin, und er heilte sie.	30 and large crowds came to him bringing the lame, the crippled, the blind, the dumb and many others;these they put down at his feet, and he cured them.
31 Als die Menschen sahen, dass Stumme plötzlich redeten, Krüppel gesund wurden, Lahme gehen und Blinde sehen konnten, waren sie erstaunt und priesen den Gott Israels.	31 The crowds were astonished to see the dumb speaking, the cripples whole again, the lame walkingand the blind with their sight, and they praised the God of Israel.
32 Jesus rief seine Jünger zu sich und sagte: Ich habe Mitleid mit diesen Menschen; sie sind schon drei Tage bei mir und haben nichts mehr zu essen. Ich will sie nicht hungrig wegschicken, sonst brechen sie unterwegs zusammen.	32 But Jesus cal ed his disciples to him and said, 'I feel sorry for al these people; they have been withme for three days now and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them off hungry, or they might col apse onthe way.'
33 Da sagten die Jünger zu ihm: Wo sollen wir in dieser unbewohnten Gegend so viel Brot hernehmen, um so viele Menschen satt zu machen?	33 The disciples said to him, 'Where in a deserted place could we get sufficient bread for such a largecrowd to have enough to eat?'
34 Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Wie viele Brote habt ihr? Sie antworteten: Sieben, und noch ein paar Fische.	34 Jesus said to them, 'How many loaves have you?' They said, 'Seven, and a few smal fish.'
35 Da forderte er die Leute auf, sich auf den Boden zu setzen.	35 Then he instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground,
36 Und er nahm die sieben Brote und die Fische, sprach das Dankgebet, brach die Brote und gab sie den Jüngern und die Jünger verteilten sie an die Leute.	36 and he took the seven loaves and the fish, and after giving thanks he broke them and began handingthem to the disciples, who gave them to the crowds.
37 Und alle aßen und wurden satt. Dann sammelte man die übrig gebliebenen Brotstücke ein, sieben Körbe voll.	37 They al ate as much as they wanted, and they col ected what was left of the scraps, seven basketsful .
38 Es waren viertausend Männer, die an dem Mahl teilgenommen hatten, dazu noch Frauen und Kinder.	38 Now four thousand men had eaten, to say nothing of women and children.
39 Danach schickte er die Menge nach Hause, stieg ins Boot und fuhr in die Gegend von Magadan.	39 And when he had sent the crowds away he got into the boat and went to the territory of Magadan.
