2 Herr, ich höre die Kunde, ich sehe, Herr, was du früher getan hast. Lass es in diesen Jahren wieder geschehen, offenbare es in diesen Jahren! Auch wenn du zürnst, denk an dein Erbarmen!	2 O LORD, I have heard the report of thee, and thy work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years renew it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
3 Gott kommt von Teman her, der Heilige kommt vom Gebirge Paran. Seine Hoheit überstrahlt den Himmel, sein Ruhm erfüllt die Erde. [Sela]	3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. Selah
4 Er leuchtet wie das Licht der Sonne, ein Kranz von Strahlen umgibt ihn, in ihnen verbirgt sich seine Macht.	4 His brightness was like the light, rays flashed from his hand; and there he veiled his power.
5 Die Seuche zieht vor ihm her, die Pest folgt seinen Schritten.	5 Before him went pestilence, and plague followed close behind.
6 Wenn er kommt, wird die Erde erschüttert, wenn er hinblickt, zittern die Völker. Da zerbersten die ewigen Berge, versinken die uralten Hügel. [Das sind von jeher seine Wege.]	6 He stood and measured the earth; he looked and shook the nations; then the eternal mountains were scattered, the everlasting hills sank low. His ways were as of old.
7 Die Zelte Kuschans sehe ich voll Unheil; auch in Midian zittern die Zelte.	7 I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.
8 Herr, ist dein Zorn gegen die Flüsse entbrannt [gegen die Flüsse dein Zorn] und dein Groll gegen das Meer, dass du mit deinen Rossen heranstürmst und mit deinen siegreichen Wagen?	8 Was thy wrath against the rivers, O LORD? Was thy anger against the rivers, or thy indignation against the sea, when thou didst ride upon thy horses, upon thy chariot of victory?
9 Du hast den Bogen aus der Hülle genommen, du hast die Pfeile auf die Sehne gelegt. [Sela] Du spaltest die Erde und es brechen Ströme hervor;	9 Thou didst strip the sheath from thy bow, and put the arrows to the string. Selah Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.
10 dich sehen die Berge und zittern, tosender Regen prasselt nieder; die Urflut brüllt auf und reckt ihre Hände empor.	10 The mountains saw thee, and writhed; the raging waters swept on; the deep gave forth its voice, it lifted its hands on high.
11 Sonne und Mond bleiben in ihrer Wohnung; sie vergehen im grellen Licht deiner Pfeile, im Glanz deiner blitzenden Lanze.	11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation at the light of thine arrows as they sped, at the flash of thy glittering spear.
12 Voll Zorn schreitest du über die Erde, in deinem Groll zerstampfst du die Völker.	12 Thou didst bestride the earth in fury, thou didst trample the nations in anger.
13 Du ziehst aus, um dein Volk zu retten, um deinem Gesalbten zu helfen. Vom Haus des Ruchlosen schlägst du das Dach weg und legst das Fundament frei bis hinab auf den Felsen. [Sela]	13 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, for the salvation of thy anointed. Thou didst crush the head of the wicked, laying him bare from thigh to neck. Selah
14 Mit deinen Pfeilen durchbohrst du den Kopf seiner Krieger, die heranstürmen, um uns zu verjagen. Sie freuen sich schon voll Übermut, in ihrem Versteck den Armen zu fressen.	14 Thou didst pierce with thy shafts the head of his warriors, who came like a whirlwind to scatter me, rejoicing as if to devour the poor in secret.
15 Du bahnst mit deinen Rossen den Weg durch das Meer, durch das gewaltig schäumende Wasser.	15 Thou didst trample the sea with thy horses, the surging of mighty waters.
16 Ich zitterte am ganzen Leib, als ich es hörte, ich vernahm den Lärm und ich schrie. Fäulnis befällt meine Glieder und es wanken meine Schritte. Doch in Ruhe erwarte ich den Tag der Not, der dem Volk bevorsteht, das über uns herfällt.	16 I hear, and my body trembles, my lips quiver at the sound; rottenness enters into my bones, my steps totter beneath me. I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come upon people who invade us.
17 Zwar blüht der Feigenbaum nicht, an den Reben ist nichts zu ernten, der Ölbaum bringt keinen Ertrag, die Kornfelder tragen keine Frucht; im Pferch sind keine Schafe, im Stall steht kein Rind mehr.	17 Though the fig tree do not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,
18 Dennoch will ich jubeln über den Herrn und mich freuen über Gott, meinen Retter.	18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 Gott, der Herr, ist meine Kraft. Er macht meine Füße schnell wie die Füße der Hirsche und lässt mich schreiten auf den Höhen. (Dem Chormeister.
